    Get PDF
Gamification has become increasingly popular among businesses, institutions and consumers, especially since the emergence of Covid-19 pandemic. It has been widely used to promote positive changes in user behaviour, improve companies’ digital presence and provide immersive and engaging brand experiences. Though bibliometric studies on gamification have been conducted previously, information on citations and networking analysis emphasises marketing and consumer behaviour remains scarce. Thus, the purpose of this bibliometric study is to describe how gamification is structured and how it has evolved over time. To achieve this, we utilise citation analysis and co-word analysis to visually uncover the intellectual, conceptual and social network structures in gamification research. A total of 558 articles published between 2011 and 2021 were extracted from the Dimension.ai database through the PRISMA review process. The results reveal positive growth in gamification research between 2011 and 2021. The United States was the most productive and most cited country and the most productive and influential institution was Tampere University in Finland, which houses Juho Hamari, the most influential and most cited author. Additionally, the results reveal recent trends in gamification research including those related to value, brand and attitude as well as emerging trends including artificial intelligence. The results also reveal collaborations through co-authorship among authors, institutions and countries. Together, they depict the intellectual landscape of gamification as related to marketing and consumer behaviour. This is beneficial for both inexperienced and experienced scholars, practitioners, funding agencies and policymakers

The research interest in the field of green marketing and waste management can be demonstrated through the published literature on the topic. However, there is a paucity of extensive and systematic research focusing on the evolution of this discipline in terms of its citation work. The main objective of this study is to explore the status of scholarly works on green marketing and waste management through a bibliometric citation and networking analysis of papers published from 2012 to 2021. The data was extracted from the Web of Science (WOS) utilizing the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysed (PRISMA) review process. The VOSviewer software was used to visualize the networking linkages. The findings of descriptive analysis showed that publications and citations related to green marketing and waste management are highest in 2021. Likewise, the networking analysis showed that the Science of the Total Environment journal has the highest citation counts, while Wan Yinfeng, Wang Junshi, Xu Guoping and Yi Huang are the authors with the highest citation counts, respectively. The findings also uncovered Sinosteel Wuhan Safety & Environmental Protection Research Institute (WSEPRI) as the most cited institution. Co-authorship and co-occurrence analysis were also found to provide significant discoveries. This study offers future scholars’ knowledge on the analysis of cited journals, papers, authors, institutions, and countries in the same field. Overall, the study serves as a guide for journal editorial boards on the growth among authors and networking opportunities in the field of green marketing and waste management, especially at the international level

    Get PDF
With the advancement of ICT, cyberbullying has become more common than ever before, particularly in modern workplaces. With the requirement of working from home during the pandemic, cyberbullying within the workplace has skyrocketed within the past year. Cyberbullying can be classified as a traditional crime that has transcended to cyberspace as a result of technological advancements and the proliferation of numerous social media platforms. Despite widespread public concern about such crime in Malaysia, the legislative response to this crime is still somewhat slow due to the gaps in the current legislation governing cyberbullying. The legal landscape governing cyberbullying is still insufficient, due to the current legal framework being too general, making investigation and prosecution of the crime difficult. Cyberbullying can result in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, psychological problems, major physical and mental health problems, and even suicide. The purpose of this article is to investigate the notions of cyber bullying harassment, the risks associated with such crimes, and the legal and management mechanisms for dealing with such crimes. This research makes use of a doctrinal content analysis as well as secondary data from the law, academic journals, books, and online sources. According to the authors, unequal power relations in the workplace, anonymity, and cross-border connectedness are some of the rationales for cyberbullying, which can be expressed in a variety of ways with negative consequences for employers and employees alike. The inadequacy of the present traditional and computer-specific legislation in dealing with such crime necessitates the management of such crime

    Get PDF
Online distance education was once a process that was not easily been accepted by students, even by the educators, but when the pandemic strikes, they had to adopt and adapt the process in order to gain knowledge. The COVID-19 has resulted in shutting down schools, including tertiary institutions, all across the world. Consequently, education changed dramatically, and the mode of teaching was done remotely and on a digital platform. One of the adoptions of online learning involves using numerous online platforms and inserting interactive programs, music, animated graphics, photos in the teaching material to attract the interest of students. These types of works are, more often than not, copyrighted works that belong to someone. Generally, a license or permission must be sought before these works can be used by anyone. The permission or license, once granted, would involve a licensing fee or royalty payments to the copyright owner. However, this article looks at the law relating to the copyright exploitation awareness in the context of the law of intellectual property and the exceptions to this law, in particular, the scope of the hybrid fair dealing defence for education. This paper employs a doctrinal analysis using secondary data from academic journals, books, and online databases. The findings will respond to the legal framework for the understanding of copyright exploitation and its exception in the post-pandemic era

    Get PDF
Companies are increasingly looking for sales professionals. However, most university students are hesitant to consider sales as a prospective job option after graduation. Understanding the determining factors that influence graduates’ willingness to work in sales in Malaysia is critical in persuading more students to engage in sales career and restoring market demand for sales employment. Thus, this study investigates the relationship between perceptions of sales-related skills, perceptions of sales careers, and perceptions of how others view salespeople and the intention to pursue sales career among students in Malaysia’s universities. The effect of feelings towards selling as a mediator is also explored. The study analyses data from 276 business undergraduates using a structural equation modeling approach. The research findings indicate that perceptions of sales-related skills, perceptions of sales careers, and perceptions of how others view salespeople have positive impacts on intention to pursue sales career. There was also evidence that shows feelings towards selling influence intention to pursue sales career directly and indirectly. This study adds to the body of knowledge regarding sales education and provides universities practical insights into the factors determining student intentions to pursue sales jobs
