Complexity analysis of Klein-Gordon single-particle systems
The Fisher-Shannon complexity is used to quantitatively estimate the
contribution of relativistic effects to on the internal disorder of
Klein-Gordon single-particle Coulomb systems which is manifest in the rich
variety of three-dimensional geometries of its corresponding quantum-mechanical
probability density. It is observed that, contrary to the non-relativistic
case, the Fisher-Shannon complexity of these relativistic systems does depend
on the potential strength (nuclear charge). This is numerically illustrated for
pionic atoms. Moreover, its variation with the quantum numbers (n, l, m) is
analysed in various ground and excited states. It is found that the

The VAST Survey - IV. A wide brown dwarf companion to the A3V star Delphini
We report the discovery of a wide co-moving substellar companion to the
nearby ( pc) A3V star Delphini based on imaging and
follow-up spectroscopic observations obtained during the course of our
Volume-limited A-Star (VAST) multiplicity survey. Del was observed over
a five-year baseline with adaptive optics, revealing the presence of a
previously-unresolved companion with a proper motion consistent with that of
the A-type primary. The age of the Del system was estimated as
Myr based on the position of the primary on the colour-magnitude
and temperature-luminosity diagrams. Using intermediate-resolution
near-infrared spectroscopy, the spectrum of Del B is shown to be
consistent with a mid-L dwarf (L), at a temperature of K.
Combining the measured near-infrared magnitude of Del B with the
estimated temperature leads to a model-dependent mass estimate of
M, corresponding to a mass ratio of . At a
projected separation of au, Del B is among the most
widely-separated and extreme-mass ratio substellar companions to a
main-sequence star resolved to-date, providing a rare empirical constraint of

Correlation function and generalized master equation of arbitrary age
We study a two-state statistical process with a non-Poisson distribution of
sojourn times. In accordance with earlier work, we find that this process is
characterized by aging and we study three different ways to define the
correlation function of arbitrary age of the corresponding dichotomous
fluctuation based respectively on the Generalized Master Equation formalism, on
a Liouville-like approach and on a trajectory perspective.Comment: 11 pages, 1figur
Vertical flux and microplankton assemblages in the Gulf of Liions during spring 1990
A vertical flux pulse related to spring phytoplankton development was recorded ·by moored sediment traps at 42°N 06°E in the Gulf of Lions. May 1990 trap samples from 200m to
2000m depth were comprised of freshly produced organic matter and selected microplankton species from the overlaying water column. This vertical flux event was transmitted to the deep sea floor with a high particle sinking velocity
of >140 m day-1. Maximal vertical fluxes of 35 mg C m-2 day-1 and 1.2 mg chl.a m-2 day-1 recorded during this event are low compared to the exports from collapsing spring blooms at higher latitudes but demonstrate that particle production and degradation within the spring pelagic system were not in balance
