Mit vorliegender Arbeit wird eine Reihe von Beiträgen eingeleitet, die die Geschichte der Entomologischen Sammlungen des ehemaligen Deutschen Entomologischen Institutes (jetzt Abteilung Taxonomie der Insekten des Institutes für Pflanzenschutzforschung) behandeln. Einem Allgemeinen Teil über die Gesamtentwicklung der Sammlungen folgt der Spezielle Teil über die Sammlung Diptera. Hier werden ihre Entwicklung, die einzelnen wichtigen Sammlungsbestandteile, die Erwerbungsarten, die Sammlungsverwalter, die wichtigsten Determinatoren sowie der heutige Zustand und Aufbau der Sammlung und die weitere Arbeit mit ihr dargestellt.The present paper is the first of a series describing the history of the entomological collections of the former Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, now the Department of Taxonomy of Insects of the Institute of Plant Protection Research. A general survey of the development of the collections is followed by a special part dealing with the collection of Diptera. Its development, its important parts, the various modes of acquisition, its curators, the most important determiners, its present state and structure and the future work with it are discussed

Das Archiv des Deutschen Entomologischen Instituts. 1. Allgemeines. - 2. Inventar 100: Die Sachtleben-Korrespondenz.

Im allgemeinen Teil wird das Archiv des Deutschen Entomologischen Instituts mit seinen Bestandteilen, seiner Entstehung und dem Grad seiner Erschließung vorgestellt. Das Inventarium Nr. 100 enthält die sogenannte Sachtleben-Korrespondenz. Sie ist sowohl Instituts- als auch Wissenschaftskorrespondenz. Ihr sind auch Briefe anderer wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter des Instituts wie W. Hennig und W. Schwenke, zugeordnet. Insgesamt 8828 Briefe und Postkarten von 1234 Personen oder Institutionen im Zeitraum von 1941 bis 1962 werden aufgeführt.In the general introduction, the components, the history and the degree of inventory registration of the archives of the Deutsches Entomological Institut are outlined. Dies ist der erste Beitrag zum Typenkatalog der Dipterensammlung der Abteilung Taxonomie der Insekten des Institutes für Pflanzenschutzforschung. Er enthält alle Typen bis zur Unterart der Sektion Acalyptratae. Die Reihenfolge der Arten ist alphabetisch innerhalb der einzelnen Familien, welche nach dem 'Catalog of the Diptera of America North of Mexico' (1965) geordnet und benannt sind. Widersprüche zwischen dem Originalzitat und den Angaben in der Sammlung werden zu deuten versucht. Empfehlungen zur Typenfestlegung ergehen an die Spezialisten, Bemerkungen weisen auf den Erhaltungszustand hin.This is the first contribution to the catalogue of types of the collection of Diptera of the Department of Taxonomy of Insects of the Institute of Plant Protection. It contains all the types as far as the subspecies of the section Acalyptrate. The species are listed in alphabetical order within the families, which are named and arranged according the 'Catalog of the Diptera of America North of Mexico' (1965). It is attempted to explain contradictions between the original quotations and the statements in the collection, suggestions for the establishment of types are made for the use of the specialists, and the state of preservation is noted

Er enthält alle Typen der Division Aschiza (Unterordnung Cyclorrhapha) bis zur Unterart. Die Reihenfolge der Arten ist alphabetisch innerhalb der einzelnen Familien, welche nach dem "Catalog of the Diptera of America North of Mexico" (1965) geordnet und benannt sind. Der Beitrag vermittelt einen Überblick über die geschichtliche Entwicklung des Deutschen Entomologischen Instituts in Etappen mit den ihnen entsprechenden Zielen und Aufgabenstellungen anhand von unveröffendlichten Quellen. Weiter wird die Entwicklung der Sammlungsteile und ihre Bearbeitung dargestellt und eine Übersicht über den Bestandsaufbau und die Erwerbung der entomologischen Fachbibliothek gegeben. Revisions of the afrotropical genera of argidae and species of Pampsilota konow, 1899 (Hymenoptera, Tenthredinoidea)

Open Access JournalThe Afrotropical fauna contains five genera of Argidae. These are keyed. New subjective synonyms, followed by the valid name in brackets, are Calarge Enslin, 1911 [Arge Schrank, 1802], Calarge africana Enslin, 1911 [Arge congrua Konow, 1907], Clyparge Pasteels, 1963 [Scobina Lepeletier & Serville, 1828], Clyparge terminalis Pasteels, 1963 [Scobina poecila (Klug, 1834)], and Sterictophora [sic] afra Pasteels, 1963 [Sphacophilus afer comb. n., species inquirenda near S. monjarasi Smith & Morales-Reyes, 2015]. The type material of both C. terminalis and S. afra was probably collected in the New World, but labelled with the wrong locality “Kamerun”. An introduction of both species to Africa, not followed by long-term establishment, seems less likely. The removal of these taxa from the faunal list of the region is recommended. The nine known Afrotropical species of Pampsilota are revised, and an illustrated dichotomous identification key presented, with distribution maps for all species. Four species are here described as new to science: P. dahomeyanus Goergen, Koch & Liston, sp. n., P. nigeriae Liston & Koch, sp. n., P. tsavoensis Liston & Koch, sp. n., and P. zebra Liston & Koch, sp. n. Lectotypes are designated for Pampsilota afer Konow, 1899, and Cipdele africana Mocsáry, 1909. The immature stages and host plant of only one species are known: P. dahomeyanus on Lannea nigritana (Anacardiaceae). Its larval morphology strongly resembles that of European and North American species of Arge. We provisionally retain Pampsilota as a valid genus, although it could justifiably be treated as comprising merely a species group, or groups, within Arge

Begriffsbildung, Klassifikationssystem und Nomenklatur in der zoologischen Systematik, dargestellt am Beispiel der Gattung Gonia Meigen, 1803 (Diptera: Tachinidae).

Am Beispiel der Meigen'schen Nomenklatur für die Dipteren wird gezeigt, wie wichtig die Beachtung der Priorität und Kontinuität bei der Entwicklung eines Begriffssystems ist. Thesenhaft werden der Gegenstandsbereich der Systematik, ihre Aufgaben und ihr Methodengefüge, zu denen Klassifikation, Begriffsbildung und phylogenetische Rekonstruktion gehören, vorgestellt. Der Zusammenhang von Klassifikation, Begriff und Begriffssystem sowie Nomenklatur steht im Mittelpunkt der Erörterung und wird an Beispielen erläutert.The importance of observing the priority and the continuity in the development of a system of terms is shown at the example of Meigen's nomenclature of Diptera.
