This article begins with an introduction that places the reader in the context of information technology, its relevance and influence in business processes both internally and its relationship to the knowledge society, economy and information technologies. He then briefly explained the significance of the cluster, its characteristics, the statistical methods for grouping and usefulness within the organization. This raises the algorithm ISODATA as one of the most effective options for sorting and grouping of cluster demonstrating its applicability to the information and knowledge management of a company through partnerships and alliances between research, science and technology, innovation and performance from all its perspectives that offer a vision of the neo organizational dimensions

Healthy Foods in Schools: Communicating With Children

“Eat well to grow up healthy” is the most memorable message that families transmitted to their children, but what happens with these words of wisdom when the kids have to face the world of school cafeterias? Do they have enough choices to follow these recommendations? Do they want to look for healthy food? These are some questions that can be answered through analyzing meals in school and the narrative related to it. Moreover, some strategies have been created to persuade kids to eat healthily. In the reviewed literature, a lot of sources and procedures are studied to improve choices that kids make and also the actions that school administrators apply to enhance the menus. According to the CDS Centers of Disease Control and Prevention in its Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (2019) almost 1 of 5 children are obese, and they are more likely to have it in the adulthood. Less than 1 in 10 children eat the recommended daily amount of vegetables, and nearly 30 million Americans live in neighborhoods without easy access to affordable, nutritious food. Moreover, an estimated 73% of children 3-5 years old not yet in kindergarten are in a non-parental care arrangement every week. This paper presents examples to improve this problem in our country, for example, it shows how the CDC is working with other local and national organizations to promote programs to apply healthy practices with the children, such as prevention programs in the early childcare system training them, funding, and giving technical assistance. In addition, different approaches to teach kids to eat healthily, such as competitions, pledges, and incentives. Moving to read books and finally learn about food in schools, and a lot of resources that we can follow as parents to push back on big brands and companies that are affecting the life of the kids. Finally, my research shows that activism can be part of the solution, with an example of a chef who dedicates his life to teach and creates a program about how the knowledge about food can be incorporated in all the school environments through making it part of the learning skills that the kids get from school.https://digitalcommons.odu.edu/gradposters2020_artsletters/1002/thumbnail.jp

Genetic diversity and selection in three plasmodium vivax merozoite surface protein 7 (pvmsp-7) genes in a colombian population

A completely effective vaccine for malaria (one of the major infectious diseases worldwide) is not yet available; different membrane proteins involved in parasite-host interactions have been proposed as candidates for designing it. It has been found that proteins encoded by the merozoite surface protein (msp)-7 multigene family are antibody targets in natural infection; the nucleotide diversity of three Pvmsp-7 genes was thus analyzed in a Colombian parasite population. By contrast with P. falciparum msp-7 loci and ancestral P. vivax msp-7 genes, specie-specific duplicates of the latter specie display high genetic variability, generated by single nucleotide polymorphisms, repeat regions, and recombination. At least three major allele types are present in Pvmsp-7C, Pvmsp-7H and Pvmsp-7I and positive selection seems to be operating on the central region of these msp-7 genes. Although this region has high genetic polymorphism, the C-terminus (Pfam domain ID: PF12948) is conserved and could be an important candidate when designing a subunit-based antimalarial vaccine

Nutcracker syndrome combined with IgA Nephropathy: a cause of recurrent hematuria and proteinuria. Case report

    Get PDF
The nutcracker syndrome is caused by the obstruction of the left renal vein secondary to its compression between the superior mesenteric artery and the aorta. Clinically, this syndrome manifests with pain, hematuria, varicocele or lower urinary tract symptoms. The prevalence of this syndrome is currently unknown; however, the diagnosis of this condition has increased thanks to the availability of non-invasive studies that allow its recognition. On the other hand, IgA nephropathy is the most common type of glomerular disease worldwide. Almost 15% of the causes of hematuria in children are secondary to this condition. The combination of IgA nephropathy and the nutcracker syndrome is rare. In the current literature, few cases have been described. We described the case of a 9-year-old scholar with hematuria and persistent proteinuria in the course of a purpura of Henoch-Schonlein in whom renal biopsy documented IgA nephropathy. However, during follow-up, due to the persistence of hematuria and proteinuria, in addition to other symptoms, additional studies are carried out confirming a Nutcracker syndrome. It is key in patients with persistent symptoms to rule out the association of these two diseases to avoid unnecessary interventions

The conference papers of the Annual Conference on Formative Research on EFL. Practices thar inspire change collect pedagogical experiences, research reports, and reflections about social issues, language teaching, teaching training, interculturality under the panorama of the Covid-19 pandemic. Each paper invites the reader to implement changes in their teaching practice through disruptive pedagogies, reflect on the social and emotional consequences of the lockdown, new paths for teacher training and different approaches for teaching interculturality. We expect to inspire new ways to train pre-service teachers and teach languages in this changing times
