    Este trabajo se centra en identificar el papel de la estrategia de externalización en los hoteles. Para ello, se analiza los niveles de externalización actual y deseada. El artículo intenta determinar qué ventajas así como los riesgos que perciben los directivos de esta estrategia. Por otra parte se analiza la relación entre el tamaño, categoría y tipo de hotel con la externalización. Los resultados indican que el nivel de externalización es bastante usado. Por otra parte, los beneficios que perciben los directivos son más tácticos que estratégicos. Existe una relación entre la externalización y el tamaño del hotel

In addition, it analyzes the influence of the use of relational norms on the outsourcing success. Based on a sample of 127 outsourcing relationships in two tourist destinations, a PLS structural model was used to test the hypotheses. The findings show that the outsourcing benefits and competitive strategy determine the use of relational norms. They also show that there is a positive relationship between relational norms and outsourcing success. Some differences were found between the two destinations analyzed

    The discrimination capabilities of Micromegas detectors at low energy

    The latest generation of Micromegas detectors show a good energy resolution, spatial resolution and low threshold, which make them idoneous in low energy applications. Two micromegas detectors have been built for dark matter experiments: CAST, which uses a dipole magnet to convert axion into detectable x-ray photons, and MIMAC, which aims to reconstruct the tracks of low energy nuclear recoils in a mixture of CF4 and CHF3. These readouts have been respectively built with the microbulk and bulk techniques, which show different gain, electron transmission and energy resolutions.     Radiopurity of Micromegas readout planes

    Micromesh Gas Amplification Structures (Micromegas) are being used in an increasing number of Particle Physics applications since their conception fourteen years ago. More recently, they are being used or considered as readout of Time Projection Chambers (TPCs) in the field of Rare Event searches (dealing with dark matter, axions or double beta decay). In these experiments, the radiopurity of the detector components and surrounding materials is measured and finely controlled in order to keep the experimental background as low as possible. In the present paper, the first measurement of the radiopurity of Micromegas planes obtained by high purity germanium spectrometry in the low background facilities of the Canfranc Underground Laboratory (LSC) is presented. The obtained results prove that Micromegas readouts of the microbulk type are currently manufactured with radiopurity levels below 30 microBq/cm2 for Th and U chains and ~60 microBq/cm2 for 40K, already comparable to the cleanest detector components of the most stringent low background experiments at present. Taking into account that the studied readouts were manufactured without any specific control of the radiopurity, it should be possible to improve these levels after dedicated development.Comment: 15 pages, 2 figure

    Agricultural products from algal biomass grown in piggery wastewater: A techno-economic analysis

    Producción CientíficaThe intensification of livestock activities lead to an increase in waste generation with high content of nutrients, as is the case of piggery wastewater. However, this type of residue can be used as culture media for algae cultivation in thin-layer cascade photobioreactors to reduce its environment impact and produce a valorizable algal biomass. Biostimulants were produced by enzymatic hydrolysis and ultrasonication of microalgal biomass, using membranes (Scenario 1) or centrifugation (Scenario 2) as harvesting methods. The co-production of biopesticides by solvent extraction was also evaluated using membranes (Scenario 3) or centrifugation (Scenario 4). The four scenarios were analyzed by a technoeconomic assessment estimating the total annualized equivalent cost and the production cost, i.e., the minimum selling price. Centrifugation provided biostimulants approximately 4 times more concentrated than membranes, but with higher expense due to the cost of the centrifuge (contribution of 62.2 % in scenario 2) and the electricity requirements. The biopesticide production resulted the highest contribution to investment cost in scenarios 3 and 4 (34 % and 43 % respectively). The use of membranes was also more advantageous to produce biopesticides, although it was 5 times more diluted than using centrifuge. The biostimulant production cost was 65.5 €/m3 with membranes and 342.6 €/m3 by centrifugation and the biopesticide production cost was 353.7 €/m3 in scenario 3 and 2,122.1 €/m3 in scenario 4. Comparing the treatment of 1 ha of land, the cost of the biostimulant produced in the four scenarios was lower than the commercial one (48.1 %, 22.1 %, 45.1 % and 24.2 % respectively). Finally, using membranes for biomass harvesting allowed economically viable plants with lower capacity and longer distance for biostimulant distribution (up to 300 km) than centrifuge (188 km).     A carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolate belonging to European clone II and sequence type 2 was recov-ered from a patient in the Son Espases hospital in Mallorca, Spain. Genetic analysis showed the presence of the bla OXA-23 gene in association with the widely disseminated transposon Tn2006. This is the first reported identification of A. baumannii carrying bla OXA-23 in Spain

    Pain reduction and tolerance of type II undenatured collagen in patients with knee osteoarthritis

    Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common cause of pain and disability in adults. Dietary supplements such as undenatured type II collagen (UC-II) have shown to have some benefits in OA treatment. This study aimed to assess changes in pain levels among knee OA patients treated with UC-II for 6 months. Methods: Patients with knee OA of any grade were given a daily 40 mg dose of UC-II (CondroArtil®) as a dietary supplement for 6 months. Pain levels were measured using the visual analog scale (VAS) before starting UC-II 6 months thereafter. A total of 100 patients (62/38: male/female) with a mean age of 46.3±13.8 years participated in the study. Most patients (60%) had mild to moderate OA (grade I or II). Results: The UC-II supplementation was shown to significantly reduce pain levels (p<0.001) with a negative correlation between pain reduction and age (p=0.006) and BMI (p=0.049). The OA severity also affected pain reduction (p=0.011), with grade II OA experiencing higher pain levels. Previous physical therapy and food supplements had a significant impact on pain reduction (p=0.017 and p=0.012, respectively). Conclusions: The study suggests that UC-II is an effective treatment for reducing pain in patients with knee OA
