This study aimed to analyze the effect of land cover types to micro-climate of and analyze the effect microclimate to the trees and open land towards amenities environment for human. The City of Bitung has selected as a research site because it planned for mega projects. They are Special Economic Zones (KEK), International Relations Ports and Manado-Bitung Highways. The research used primary and secondary data. The parameters measured for each land cover includes the elements of microclimate namely: Air Temperature, Humidity and Solar Radiation. Data analysis using techniques T test, F test and Analysis of amenities based on the data of air temperature and humidity, it can be calculated by Temperature Humadity Index (THI). The measurement results microclimate taken at four different land cover that is at the city park, Central Business District (CBD), housing and industry. The results of this study prove the hypothesis that there are differences in the average value of the temperature and humidity in the trees, open land. Tree vegetation structures more effectively reduce the air temperature. The structure of the vegetation canopy of trees that have rounded and more densely branched patterns, height being between 6-10 m and serves to overshadow proved more effective in improving amenities in the surrounding area. Based on the value of THI, all land cover both parks, CBD, residential and industrial categorized uncomfortable because the average is at a value> 27. Housing area has very little green space. One of the efforts to improve the quality of the microclimate in order to enhance the user experience is to provide a good environment garden by planting vegetation predominant tree combined with shrubs and grasses to balance and harmonize between buildings and the environment also have aesthetic value. In the industrial area, the high levels of air pollution resulting from the production process so that recommended a good landscape arrangement, by expanding area of town forest and planting vegetation of trees that can absorb large numbers of pollutants result in healthy and fresh air for the region

Kesehatan merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting bagi manusia. Kesehatan yang baik dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pekerja dengan meningkatkan kapasitas fisik mereka, seperti kekuatan dan daya tahan, serta kapasitas mental mereka, seperti fungsi kognitif dan kemampuan penalaran. Seperti di logistic Division, diketahui bahwa 16% dari total penyakit yang dialami pegawainya disebabkan oleh saraf dan otot. Dengan menelusuri berdasarkan setiap deprtemen yang ada di divisi ini, pegawai yang paling banyak sakit adalah pada Installation Department yang memberikan kontribusi 60%, itu berarti bahwa dari 16% penyakit yang disebabkan oleh saraf dan otot 60% operator yang terinfeksi bekerja dalam Installation Department. Pekerjaan dalam Departemen Instalasi terdapat ada lima line yang memiliki tanggung jawab untuk menginstal mobil tersedia atau diberikan. Dari lima line, yang paling banyak pegawainya sakit adalah pada line 2 yang berkontribusi 25%. Setelah itu, di identifikasi dan hasilnya jenis pekerjaan yang pekerjanya paling banyak sakit adalah pada Pos 2D yang bertanggung jawab untuk menginstal wooden LH dan routing. Setelah itu, kondisi exisitng di nilai dengan menggunakan metode OCRA Indeks yang mengevaluasi empat faktor risiko utama secara kolektif berdasarkan durasi kerja, repetitiveness, kekuatan, postur canggung dan gerakan, dan kurangnya periode pemulihan yang tepat. Kemudian, dari hasil yang diperoleh dari penilaian akan digunakan sebagai parameter untuk memberikan perbaikan yang dalam hal metode perbaikan kerja. Dengan meningkatkan dan mengatur waktu kerja, gap yang telah di kategorikan dalam OCRA Indeks telah diperbaiki. Dengan kata lain Indeks ocra pada kondisi perbaikan lebih rendah dari yang sudah ada. Artinya, proses perbaikan berhasil menurunkan risiko penyakit dari 2,449 ke 1,836 dengan proses perbaikan yang berfokus terhadap empat faktor tersebut

Isolation, phylogenetic analysis, and expression of a Somatic Embryogenesis Receptor like Kinase (SERK) gene in Cattleya maxima Lindl

Orchidaceae is a central family of vascular plants in Ecuador because of its huge diversity and endemism. A prominent commercial native species well known for its richness of color is Cattleya maxima Lindl. Somatic embryogenesis is recognized as an important process for mass propagation of many ornamental crops including orchids. Somatic Embryogenesis Receptor like Kinases (SERK) genes, in particular, are highly expressed during the early phases of somatic embryogenesis and therefore, the study of their involvement in this process is of paramount importance to improve the commercial propagation of orchids. For this reason, we decided to isolate and characterize a SERK orthologue from Cattleya maxima L. The deduced amino acid sequence of a partial CmSERK cDNA shows the presence of all SERK typical domains, suggesting that it may be functionally active in C. maxima. Its role in somatic embryogenesis is further supported by its high expression level during embryogenesis and in protocorm-like bodies. Moreover, the basal expression of CmSERK in roots, leaves, and ovaries points to a broader developmental role of this gene. The Effect of Domperindone on Intestinal Motility and Bacterial Overgrowth in Patients with Liver Cirrhosis

Background: Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is a common serious complication of liver cirrhosis mainly caused by bacterial translocation (BT) into ascites fluid. The most essential issue that affects BT is small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), which usually caused by gastrointestinal dysmotility. This study was aimed to evaluate the prokinetic effects of domperidone on gastrointestinal motility and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and the correlation between restoration of motility and the incidence of SIBO in patients with liver cirrhosis.Method: A cross-over double blind clinical trial was conducted on patients who were treated at the ward and outpatient clinic from Division of Hepatology in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta and Soedarso Hospital, Pontianak between September 2010 and March 2011. All patients suffered from liver cirrhosis with ascites, gastrointestinal dysmotility and SIBO were included in the study. Out of 34 eligible patients, 16 patients received placebo and 18 patients received prokinetics (domperidone). Wilcoxon test was performed to analyze the comparison of SIBO before and after treatment in the placebo group; while paired T-test was employed for the prokinetics (domperidone) group. To evaluate improved balance of SIBO in the placebo and domperidone group, a Chi-square test was performed.Results: In the placebo group, 61.8% patients experienced SIBO; while in the prokinetics group, SIBO occurred only in 2.9% patients. Restored gastrointestinal motility took place in the prokinetics group with reduced median value for orocaecal transit time from 120 minutes into 90 minutes (p = 0.0001). In contrast, it went worse in the placebo group, i.e. from 90 minutes into 110 minutes (p = 0.002). There was a significant correlation between restored gastrointestinal motility and SIBO (p = 0.0001). Similarly, so does the effect of administering prokinetic agent on restored gastrointestinal motility (p = 0.0001) and SIBO (p = 0.0001).Conclusion: The administration of prokinetics has been proven effective to restore gastrointestinal motility that may lead to reduced incidence of SIBO in patients with liver cirrhosis

|\epsilon|-Near-Zero materials in the near-infrared

We consider a mixture of metal coated quantum dots dispersed in a polymer matrix and, using a modified version of the standard Maxwell-Garnett mixing rule, we prove that the mixture parameters (particles radius, quantum dots gain, etc.) can be chosen so that the effective medium permittivity has an absolute value very close to zero in the near-infrared, i.e. |Re(epsilon)|<<1 and |Im (epsilon)|<<1 at the same near-infrared wavelength. Resorting to full-wave simulations, we investigate the accuracy of the effective medium predictions and we relate their discrepancy with rigorous numerical results to the fact that |epsilon|<<1 is a critical requirement. We show that a simple method for reducing this discrepancy, and hence for achieving a prescribed value of |\epsilon|, consists in a subsequent fine-tuning of the nanoparticles volume filling fraction.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figure

Usulan Perbaikan Ukuran Meja Pewarnaan di Stasiun Kerja Pewarnaan Batik dengan Menggunakan Metode Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (Studi Kasus Rumah Batik Komar)

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) atau gangguan otot rangka merupakan kerusakan pada otot, saraf, tendon, ligamen, persendian, kartilago, dan discus invertebralis. Penyebab utama terjadinya MSDs adalah postur tubuh yang salah. Postur tubuh adalah posisi bagian dari tubuh yang berhubungan dengan bagian tubuh lain yang dihubungkan oleh sudut sambungan. Batik Komar merupakan badan USAha milik perseorangan yang dimiliki oleh H. Komarudin Kudiya S.IP, M.Ds. yang bergerak dibidang produksi kain batik. Produk unggulan yang diproduksi Batik Komar diantaranya batik cap dan batik tulis. Salah satu kegiatan pada Perusahaan Batik Komar adalah kegiatan pewarnaan kain batik yang sebelumnya telah dilakukan proses pembatikan. Alat yang digunakan operator dalam proses pewarnaan batik berupa meja kerja dengan ukuran 176 x 80.5 x 155.5 cm. Observasi yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat kerja eksisting terdapat posisi canggung operator berupa punggung membungkuk lebih dari 30o dan posisi lengan terangkat melebihi bahu operator. Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (WISHA) mendeskripsikan bahwa bekerja dengan posisi leher atau punggung membungkuk dengan sudut lebih dari 30o tanpa dukungan selama lebih dari total 2 jam dalam sehari sebagai postur canggung. Hasil penelitian postur kerja operator yang sedang melakukan proses pewarnaan dengan menggunakan RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) diperoleh skor assessment sebesar 5. Nilai ini mengindikasikan bahwa postur kerja operator berada dalam posisi yang berbahaya sehingga memerlukan perbaikan
