The Country of Iron and Steel on Stage : Theatres and Political Propaganda in the Rákosi Era

In my study, I examine how theatre appeared in the official propaganda journal of the Rákosi-era, whose declared aim was to support the “cultural revolution”. Through an analysis of the linguistic propaganda devices that appeared in the journal, the focus of my writing is to show the ideological relations that defined not only the official theatre, but also the framework of workers’ or factory theatre. The ideologists and political decision-makers of the period made excellent use of the phenomenon that, in a total dictatorship, artistic works always carried a political message and conveyed values. A „Kádár-korszak” jogszabályalkotása az adatok tükrében (1956. november – 1989. október)

The study analyses the legislation published in the official journal of the Hungarian People’s Republic, the Magyar Közlöny, according to types of sources of law and topics on the public policy agenda. The examined period lasts from November 1956 to October 1989 - from the founding of the Hungarian Socialist Workers’ Party to its demise. During the period, a total of 13,755 pieces of legislation were published in the paper. Legislation by the Parliament can be said to be insignificant compared to the similar activities of the Presidential Council and the Council of Ministers. Among the most important public policy areas, agricultural policy, employment policy, finance and trade policy, and to a large extent also macroeconomic policy were primarily regulated by ministerial or council of ministerial decrees. The analysis of party decisions, which cannot be considered as an independent source of law, shows that the party’s “de facto governmental” activity was also quite broad, covering almost all areas of public policy

Kutatásunkban (1) kidolgoztunk egy olyan, big data alapú módszertant és adatbázist, amely segíti a vállalkozásokat a munkavédelmi szabályok értelmezésében; (2) egy pilot projekt keretében felmértük, hogy a legfontosabb érintettek körében milyen a fogadókészség ennek használatára, illetve milyen feltételek mellett használnák inkább az adatbázist; (3) egy coaching folyamat keretében segítenénk az adatbázis bevezetését, a használatának elterjesztését, valamint action research-öt folytatva monitoroznánk a használók reakcióit és értékelnénk a bevezetés tanulságait. A kutatás során mesterséges intelligencia alapú gépi tanítás (Support Vector Machine) segítéségével modellt tanítottunk arra, hogy a számítógépes algoritmus a jövőben képes legyen a balesetek osztályozását elvégezni

A topikmodellezés lehetőségei és korlátai egy törvénykorpusz példáján = The opportunities and constraints of topic modelling – the case of a corpus of laws

A topikmodellezés a felügyelet nélküli tanulás egy fajtája, amelynek segítségével egy korpusz dokumentumait kategorizálhatjuk szemantikailag értelmezhető témakörök alapján kialakított csoportokba. A módszernek számos potenciális felhasználási lehetősége van a társadalomtudományok területén. Jelen tanulmány a topikmodellezés előnyeit és buktatóit tekinti át, illetve mutatja be egy kutatás példáján keresztül, amelynek során az 1990 és 2018 között elfogadott magyar törvényekből álló korpuszokból alakítottunk ki topikmodelleket. Célunk az LDA felhasználási lehetőségeinek felmérése volt. A kutatás során ciklusonként kialakított alkorpuszokon futtattunk topikmodelleket, majd az ugyanezen a korpuszon végzett kézi kódolás eredményeivel összehasonlítva értékeltük ki azokat. Eredményeink alapján az LDA más módszerekhez képest jelentősen kisebb mértékű erőforrás-befektetés mellett is alkalmas szemantikailag értelmezhető és koherens kategóriák kialakítására, amelyek a további vizsgálatok szempontjából relevánsak lehetnek. Ugyanakkor nem tanácsoljuk az algoritmus validáció nélküli használatát. A topikmodellezés elsődleges alkalmazási lehetőségét a vizsgált dokumentumok előzetes feldolgozásában, strukturálásában látjuk. = Topic modelling is a form of unsupervised learning, it is used to categorize the documents of a corpus into groups based on semantically interpretable topics. This method has a number of potential applications in the context of social science research. This study provides an overview of the opportunities and constraints of topic modelling within a social science context, through a concrete research example, that applies topic modelling to a corpus consisting of hungarian laws from 1990 to 2018. Our aim is to provide an evalueation of the potential research usage of LDA. We evaluated our models based on comparisons with hand coding research done on the same corpus. Our results show, the categories generated by our models were semanticly interpretable, and were relevant to potential further study of the corpus, we stress the importance of validation. We see the primary use of topic modelling in the preliminary processing and structuring of data

1956 és 1989 között keletkezett propagandaszövegek nyelvi sajátságai

Elemzésünkben a Magyar Szocialista Munkáspárt Központi Bizottságának (MSZMP KB) hivatalos havi lapja, a Pártélet els® és utolsó két évének lapszámait vizsgáljuk, és összehasonlítjuk a két id®szak szövegeinek statisztikai, morfológiai, szintaktikai és szemantikai jellemz®it. A vizsgált szövegek bizonyosan a totalitárius nyelvhasználatot reprezentálják, ezért kutatási eredményeinket felhasználhatónak tekintjük a politikai propaganda azonosítására és elemzésére irányuló kutatásokban és fejlesztésekben
