    The Effect of Program Laboratory Inquiry Practicum Based (PPZI-BIL) to Mastering Invertebrate Zoology Concept

    This study aims to determine the effect of applying PPZI-BIL to the mastery of the concept of biology student teachers and student attitudes toward curriculum subjects Invertebrate Zoology. Subjects were students of the University of Pasundan (UNPAS) with a total sample of 52 people (one class), selected by purposive sampling. Student mastery of concepts is measured through tests, while the attitude of students was measured through a questionnaire. The results showed that there was a significant increase in any concept of Invertebrate Zoology. The highest increase was shown in concept annelids with N-gain of 0.70 (high category), and an increase in N-gain low but still in the category of being contained in the concept of Arthropods. Implementation PPZI-BIL also can increase positive attitudes of students related to the student curriculum.     Education is a process of transferring knowledge as well as the realization of changes in good behavior in students.Green pedagogy (green pedagogy) is present as one of the Education courses in the biology education study program, FKIP, University of Riau. This course provides green education for students to be able to have critical reasoning on various environmental problems that occur at the national to global level. So that various perspectives will produce new solutions to overcome existing problems. This study aims to examine how to increase green competence and behavior of students who have participated in green pedagogy learning. This type of research is descriptive quantitative where the data used is primary data through distributing questionnaires. Based on the results of the research, it is known that there is an increase in the knowledge, attitudes, motivation, and green skills of students participating in green pedagogy learning. This course is also highly recommended to be followed by all biology education students

    Pembelajaran Online Selama Pandemi Covid-19 oleh Mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia: Bentuk, Implementasi dan Harapan

    Since the corona virus disease (Covid-19) was found in patients in Wuhan, China and this virus has shown rapid transmission and has become a worldwide epidemic. As a result, online learning is applied to all universities in Indonesia by using various applications. This work is aimed for analyzing the implementation of online learning during the Covid -19 pandemic and is directed for investigating the form, implementation and expectations of students in online learning. This research was involved 231 samples consisting of all chemistry education student at Universities in Riau. The data directly collected through e-questionnaire using google form. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed quantitatively and the interview data in the form of short questions were analyzed qualitatively. All the obtained data were carfully described in descriptive form. Basid oh the analysis, it was found that the type of online learning was dominated by using google classroom and zoom meeting, while the type of online learning was popularly used by student in the form of google classroom. Methods and obstacles in online learning were found using discussion approaches and internet networks, respectively. Meanwhile, the analysis of implementation and expectations in online learning were found the student responses with both in the agreed category with a value of more than 50%.     University of Riau with the fostered village program was conducted technology transfer activities on the cultivation of oyster mushrooms in the engagement. The purpose of engagement was to empower the community by cultivating oyster mushrooms and processing oyster mushrooms into products so that they could improve the welfare of Seko Lubuk Tigo village, Lirik District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The methods used in this activity were: Workshop about The Cultivation of Oyster Mushrooms and Its Processed Products; Discussion of Various Problems and Solutions; Business Management and Product Marketing; Simulation and Evaluation. This Community Service is conducted from June to October 2019. The activity was carried out by involving community service program students of University of Riau as facilitators. The evaluation results of this activity indicated that the cultivation of oyster mushrooms and their preparations had a positive impact on the local community. The community was very responsive to this activity. The prospect of the oyster mushroom market still has considerable opportunities. The output of this activity was the community has been able to do oyster mushroom cultivation and processing.     The Important of the Community of Practice (CoP) in Improving the Primary School Teachers’ Performance in Riau Province

    Efforts to developing the quality of education is empowering educators. Positive activities that accommodate teachers to improve the quality of education are the activities of the Community of Practice (CoP). Community of Practice (CoP) or KKG in Indonesia Context is a forum for professional development for primary school teachers, and one of which is improving teacher performance. The effectiveness of the CoP really needs to be studied in depth. Therefore, a study was conducted on the role of CoP in improving the performance of primary school teachers in Riau Province. The method is a quantitative descriptive study, which describes the role of CoP activities in improving teacher performance in Riau through quantitative data. The research was carried out in May-August 2020. The participant was elementary schools’ teachers in Riau Province. The data source is the primary school teachers totalling 60 people. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that there are several roles of CoP activities in improving teacher performance, among others: through CoP teachers can discuss in construct learning tools, teachers were able to arrange lesson plans for active learning based on analysis of student needs, learning materials are arranged based on various learning sources, using media active learning, analysing evaluation test and conducting assessments according to active learning and student abilities

    The Effect of STEM Autonomous Learning City Map Application on Students’ Critical Thinking Skills

    This research aims to discover the effect of STEM autonomous learning city map application on the students’ critical thinking skills. The design of the research is quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test control groups. The population of the research is the fourth graders of an elementary school with a total of 60 students involved as the research samples. To collect the data, the research instruments used are a test and an interview. The test is to gain the data of the students’ critical thinking skills while the interview is to gain information regarding the students’ experiences with STEM autonomous learning city map. The findings revealed that there is a significant difference of the critical thinking skills between the students of both groups (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed = 0.015, p<0.05). The critical thinking skills of the students in the experiment class were increased by 23.7%. In addition, compared to the students in the control group, those in the experimental group showed a more positive attitude towards their experiences of learning using STEM autonomous city map application. Owing to this, it can be concluded that learning with the STEM autonomous learning city map application can affect students’ critical thinking skills positively

    This study aims to determine the application of non-cognitive diagnostic E-Assessments (NCDEA) to State Junior High School students in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City, Riau-Indonesia Province. This research is descriptive research using the survey method. The sample used was 100 people who came from 8 public junior high schools in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City, Riau-Indonesia Province. Sampling used cluster random sampling. Data were obtained from the distribution of non-cognitive diagnostic tests. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study explain that the learning styles of junior high school students in Tampan District, Pekanbaru City, RiauIndonesia Province, consist of 21% audio, 47% visual, and 26% kinaesthetic. Overall learning motivation consists of 64% high, 34% moderate, and 2% low. The preferred forms of learning are 53% offline, 30% online, and 17% blended. The high visual learning style is due to the dominance of student activities in using gadgets, so they are very happy when learning using interactive electronic media. It was concluded that teachers should use interactive electronic media to accommodate offline, online, or blended student learning
