A centralized feedback control model for resource management in wireless networks

    Get PDF
In a wireless environment, guaranteeing QoS is challenging because applications at multiple devices share the same limited radio bandwidth. In this paper we introduce and study a resource management model for centralized wireless networks, using feedback control theory. Before applying in practice, the proposed model is evaluated using the well-known 20-sim dynamic system simulator. The experimental results show that flexible and efficient resource allocation can be achieved for a variety of system parameters and WLAN scenarios; however, care should be taken in setting the control parameters and coefficients

Nowadays, there is a significant change from lecturer centered learning to student centered learning. This mean that the student must actively participated in class. In Management course, especially in quantitative subject classes, laboratories exist. This quantitative laboratory help student to memorize and practices the method which they learn from the theoretical class. The subject of this research is 50 students in the quantitative subject class. This research shows that there is a significant impact from the laboratory and the active actions to the final test mark on theoretical class. This result suggests the students to active on class to increase their marks while the faculty reminded to protect the laboratory percentages as it competitive advantage

An improved magnetic field simulator - MAGFLD.

An improved two-dimensional simulator MAGFLD has been developed which is useful for the design and simulation of periodic permanent magnet (PPM) focusing system for linear beam tubes. At present, input is possible only through the input file, which is very simple and user friendly. A complete PPM circuit is generated using the coordinates of first pole piece, first magnet, gun adapter (if the structure is a-periodic) and the region of computation. Small mesh units of either square or rectangular shapes can be used with mesh refinement capability in one or more regions in any or both directions for better accuracy of the solution. Materials with different magnetic permeability can be modeled by defining a characteristic value for each mesh point of the geometry. The effective potential value at each point in the region of interest is calculated based on the vector potential model by using the 5-point finite difference method and the solution is achieved by over relaxation technique for faster convergence. This package has an interface with EGUN to model the electron gun and collector under the influence of magnetic field. Versatile color graphics are capable of plotting both axial magnetic field and flux lines along with the magnetic circuit. MAGFLD has been validated against some published data and experimental results

Fluctuation of Conductance Peak Spacings in Large Semiconductor Quantum Dots

Fluctuation of Coulomb blockade peak spacings in large two-dimensional semiconductor quantum dots are studied within a model based on the electrostatics of several electron islands among which there are random inductive and capacitive couplings. Each island can accommodate electrons on quantum orbitals whose energies depend also on an external magnetic field. In contrast with a single island quantum dot, where the spacing distribution is close to Gaussian, here the distribution has a peak at small spacing value. The fluctuations are mainly due to charging effects. The model can explain the occasional occurrence of couples or even triples of closely spaced Coulomb blockade peaks, as well as the qualitative behavior of peak positions with the applied magnetic field.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, accepted for publication in PR
