    Get PDF

With the evolution of technology associated with mobility and autonomy, Shared Autonomous Vehicles will be a reality. To ensure passenger safety, there is a need to create a monitoring system inside the vehicle capable of recognizing human actions. We introduce two datasets to train human action recognition inside the vehicle, focusing on violence detection. The InCar dataset tackles violent actions for in-car background which give us more realistic data. The InVicon dataset although doesn't have the realistic background as the InCar dataset can provide skeleton (3D body joints) data. This datasets were recorded with RGB, Depth, Ther-mal, Event-based, and Skeleton data. The resulting dataset contains 6 400 video samples and more than 3 million frames, collected from sixteen distinct subjects. The dataset contains 58 action classes, including violent and neutral (i.e., non-violent) activities.(c) 2022 Published by Elsevier Inc. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a experiência inicial de um hospital universitário em colecistectomia videolaparoscópica. The present study aims to analyse the initial experience with videolaparoscopic cholecystectomy in an university hospital. Between August 1992 and June 1993, 219 patients were operated on at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre, of which 171 (78%) were women. Mean age was 47,4 years. Thirty-three patients (15%) were obese. Acute cholecystitis was the preoperative diagnosis in 15 patients (7%). Mean operative time (94,6 minutes) was increased in patients with acute cholecystitis (114 versus 92 minutes; p<0,02). There were 6 conversions to open cholecystectomy (2,7%). Conversion was more likely in obese patients (9% versus 1,6%; p<0,05). Postoperative complications were present in 23 cases (10,5 %), two of them required laparotomy (hemorrhage and bowel injury). Patients older than 65 years of age showed a greater complication rate (22% versus 8,5%; p<0,05). There were no deaths. The median length of hospitalization (74,2 hours) was longer in patients with acute cholecystitis (96 versus 72 hours; p<0,03). These initial data demonstrate that videolaparoscopic cholecystectomy has been performed at our institution with results comparable to those of literature

Induction of plant resistance is a tool that can be incorporated into the integrated management of diseases of cultivated plants. In this way, this work aims to evaluate the elicitor action of biocontrol agents in the induction of glyceolin. In this study were used concentrations about 0; 0.5; 1; 1.5 and 2% diluted in water; spore suspension of Trichoderma asperellum BV10, Bacillus subtilis BV02 and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens BV03 microorganisms. To determine the glyceolin, cotyledons were grown in sand, weighed and cut in longitudinal section on the lower surface. Subsequently, these were deposited 50 μL of the concentrations in the cuts and the extraction performed in H2O and concentration determined by absorbance at wavelength 285nm. The results were submitted to analysis of variance and compared by the regression test (p <0.05). When measuring the glyceolin in soybean cotyledons, there was an increase in the accumulation of this phytoalexins as the concentration of B. subtilis BV02 cells increased. The 4% concentration of B. subtilis BV02 promoted 237% more glyceolin accumulation in soybean cotyledons than the control. The accumulation of glyceolin was increased as the concentration of T. asperellum BV10 cells increased, so that 4% concentration promoted 228% more glycerol accumulation than the control. Increasing the concentration of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens BV03 cells increased the accumulation of this phytoalexins. The 4% concentration promoted 129% more accumulation of glycerol in soybean cotyledons than the control. The microorganisms T. asperellum, B. subtilis and B. amyloliquefaciens are indicated as activators of resistance mechanisms of soybean plants

The gaseous exchange between an organism and the environment is measured by respirometry or indirect calorimetry. Once the oxygen consumption (O2) and the production of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) are known, the energy losses by gas and heat can be calculated. Energy metabolism and methane production have been studied in the Calorimetry and Metabolism Laboratory of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, located in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Animals used are mainly Zebu cattle and their crossbreeds that represent most beef and dairy cattle breed grazed on tropical pastures. System calibration and routine work are addressed in this text. The results obtained on respirometric chambers are expressed in net energy (NE), which can be net energy for maintenance (NEm), lactation (NEL), weight gain (NEg), and pregnancy (NEp). NE is, in fact, what is used by the animal for maintenance and each productive function. The values of k (conversion efficiency of ME into NE) for maintenance (km), milk (kL), weight gain or growth (kg), and pregnancy (kp) are determined. Thanks to the peculiarity of the respirometric technique, the same animal can be evaluated several times, in different physiological states and planes of nutrition

The objective of this work was to assess the influence of foliar application of resistance inducers and the activation of plant pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins, chitinases and beta-1,3-glucanases, against Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria, and evaluate the potential of these elicitors on the reduction of bacterial leaf spot. Tomato plants of the cultivar Santa Cruz Kada were sprayed with: acibenzolar-S-methyl (0.2 g L-1 ASM); Ecolife, a biological formulation based on citric biomass (5 mL L-1); chitosan suspension from Crinipellis perniciosa mycelium (MCp; 200 g L-1); an aqueous extract from branches of lobeira (Solanum lycocarpum) infected with C. perniciosa (VLA; 300 g L-1). Plants were challenged with a virulent bacterial strain four days after spraying. Plants sprayed with the tested substances showed reduction of bacterial spot. ASM provided 49.3% protection, and was equal to MCp and Ecolife, and superior to VLA. VLA treatment did not differ statistically from MCp and Ecolife. Increases of beta-1,3-glucanase and chitinase activities were observed in treated plants at the first hour after spraying
