    Keawetan Alami Kayu Meranti Merah (Shorea Leprosula Miq.) Hutan Alam dan Hutan Tanaman dari Serangan Jamur Pelapuk Kayu

    This research was carried out by using JIS method to evaluate natural durability of red meranti (Shorea leprosula Miq.) plantations using Silin system. For comparison, the similiar method was done on S. leprosula from natural forests. This study used a factorial CRD (completely randomized design) with treatment of Raw Materials (S. leprosula from Natural Forest and from Plantation Forest) and Stem Position (Bottom, Middle, and Upper). Each treatment were tested against wood rot fungi such as Tyromyces palustris (brown rot) and Pycnoporus sanguineus (white rot) to determine the percentage of weight loss. The results show that T. palustris give significant effect on reducing the weight loss the wood of S. leprosula, while the interaction between the two factors was not significant. Similiar result was note on P. sanguineus that the factors of raw materials and the position of the rod give significant effect on weight loss of S. leprosula. While the interaction of these two factors significantly affect S. leprosula weight loss. The results showed that, S. leprosula timber from natural forests and plantations are tested against both types of wood rot fungi has met the standard of weight loss is required by JIS that is < 30% for brown rot fungi and < 15% for white rot fungi. It is conclude that the S. leprosula wood from plantations forest supply can be used to replace wood from natural forest S. leprosula to fulfill the require of wood.     The development of Science and Technology currently plays an important role in companies and government agencies in providing useful information for the interests of operations and management. Therefore, many companies or government agencies have information technology departments or information systems. Likewise UPT. The Helvetia District Health Center, namely in processing and classifying the spread of Covid-19, must use an information system in order to support activities in handling the spread of the corona virus, especially in the Medan Helvetia District. In this study, a classification system was built to classify the spread of Covid-19 using the C4.5 Algorithm. The development of this system uses the PHP programming language with a MySQL database. The results obtained in the test by applying the C4.5 Algorithm then obtained an Accuracy of 0.859, so that with this system it is expected that the Covid-19 handling task force at UPT. The Helvetia District Health Center can classify the spread of Covid-19 in the Medan Helvetia District to be more efficient and effective

    Californian Science Students' Perceptions of their Classoom Learning Environments.

    This study utilised the What Is Happening In this Class (WIHIC) questionnaire to examine factors that influence Californian student perceptions of their learning environment. Data were collected from 665 USA middle school science students in 11 Californian schools. Several background variables were included in the study to investigate their effects on students’ perceptions, such as student and teacher gender, student ethnic background and socio-economic status (SES), and student age. Class and school variables, such as class ethnic composition, class size and school socioeconomic status were also collected. A hierarchical analysis of variance was conducted to investigate separate and joint effects of these variables. Results from this study indicate that some scales of the WIHIC are more inclined to measure personal or idiosyncratic features of student perceptions of their learning environment whereas other scales contain more variance at the class level. Also, it was found that different variables affect different scale scores. A variable that consistently affected students' perceptions, regardless of the element of interest in the learning environment was student gender. Generally speaking girls perceived their learning environment more positively than did boys
