PERSEPSI MAHASISWA TERHADAP PERS MAHASISWA (Studi Deskriptif Kualitatif Mengenai Persepsi Mahasiswa Terhadap Eksistensi Pers Mahasiswa Di Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta)

ABSTRAK Keberadaan dan perkembangan pers mahasiswa pada akhirnya menjadi dilema. Terkait dengan posisinya sebagai sebuah organisasi di lingkungan kampus, secara dualisme, pers mahasiswa juga menjadi sebuah media dari, oleh, dan untuk mahasiswa. Pada dasarnya, peran dan fungsi yang dijalankan oleh pers mahasiswa sangatlah penting. Terlebih, dalam era kebebasan informasi saat ini, pers diberi kesempatan untuk lebih terbuka, interaktif, dan kritis dalam menyampaikan informasi. Namun, secara tidak langsung, posisi pers mahasiswa justru dipertaruhkan ketika mahasiswa sebagai khalayaknya tidak mengenal apa itu pers mahasiswa. Pers mahasiswa saat ini dinyatakan memiliki orientasi yang berbeda dengan pers mahasiswa zaman dulu. Hingga pada akhirnya, eksistensi pers mahasiswa yang dipertahankan pun mulai dipertanyakan. Pers mahasiswa cenderung menjadi sebuah lembaga yang hanya menyalurkan minat mahasiswa di bidang jurnalistik dan tidak secara penuh terkonsentrasi pada penggiringan isu melalui terbitannya. Terlebih, kredibilitas penggiat yang masih mahasiswa dinyatakan masih amatir ketika dibandingkan dengan wartawan pada pers umum. Hal ini berimbas pada berkurangnya apresiasi dan minat mahasiswa terhadap pers mahasiswa. Penelitian ini mencoba menggambarkan bagaimana mahasiswa sebagai khalayak utama sekaligus pelaku dalam pers mahasiswa mempersepsikan keberadaan pers mahasiswa di UNS. Dengan berorientasi pada peran dan fungsi, kredibilitas anggota, serta terbitan pers mahasiswa, adanya persepsi mahasiswa terhadap eksistensi pers mahasiswa di UNS ini dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Untuk subjek dalam penelitian ini ditekankan secara primer pada mahasiswa di setiap fakultas di UNS, mengingat keberadaan pers mahasiswa di UNS bukan hanya di tingkat universitas saja, melainkan juga di setiap fakultas. Melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka, teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, eksistensi pers mahasiswa di UNS masih dirasakan dan diperlukan bagi mahasiswa. Pers mahasiswa masih dianggap penting karena posisinya sebagai penyalur informasi, kontrol sosial (advokasi), edukasi, hiburan, bahkan media alternatif bagi mahasiswa. Namun, pada kenyataannya pers mahasiswa menjadi kurang dikenal oleh mahasiswa karena beberapa faktor, mulai dari inkonsistensi terbitan yang dihasilkan, sampai faktor SDM pers mahasiswa yang kurang terfokus sehingga menjadikan mereka kurang profesional. Di sisi lain, atensi mahasiswa terhadap pers mahasiswa tentunya juga harus ditingkatkan, mengingat mahasiswa perlu bekerja sama dan melakukan kontrol terhadap kinerja pers mahasiswa

Persepsi Komunitas Solo Hijabers Mengenai Konstruksi Citra Perempuan dalam Kontes Kecantikan

Beauty is a social construction, no exception on how beautiful concepts are raised in a beauty contest which is aired in media. Describing the image of women is inseparable from the social construction of concept of beauty. This research is to describe the perceptions of members of the Solo Hijabers community in interpreting the construction of women's images through beauty contest shows. By using a qualitative descriptive method, data collection is mainly carried out through in-depth interviews with research subjects of Solo Hijabers community. In order to obtain the data validity, this research uses source triangulation and interactive data analysis. Results of this research explained that the meaning of Solo Hijabers on women's image was stated differently. However, the beauty image of women interpreted is basically complex—both physical and personality—so that a beauty contest cannot be used as the main standard. The media can describe a number of images of women, but in its construction, media actually presents women as objects of commodities that appear to be obscured

Media Relations Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika (Diskominfo) Kabupaten Karanganyar dalam Sosialisasi Program Pemerintah

The importance of media relations conducted by a number of PRs in Government Agencies has implications for government policies in accordance with the information needs of the community. One of them is at the Office of Communication and Information (Diskominfo) Karanganyar Regency related to the issue of government program socialization. This study aims to describe the media relations strategy used by the Karanganyar Regency Office of Communication and Information in the socialization of government programs. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study, Diskominfo Karanganyar Regency uses media relations strategies by managing relations, developing strategies, and developing networks with the media to optimize each role of each section in Diskominfo for the benefit of the socialization of government programs for the community

Hiperialitas Konsep Cantik dan Perempuan dalam Film: Analisis Semiotik pada Film Imperfect

Imperfect is one of the interesting films because it tells about the reality of women in relation to the stereotype of being beautiful and perfect. The purpose of this research is to examine the description of women's beauty discourse represented through the film Imperfect, including in its substance related to career, love, and the size of beauty that is seen physically (body size and shape) in women. Through the analysis of Sara Mills, this research was analyzed qualitatively descriptively, with the main data collection through the documentation on the film Imperfect. The discussion focuses on the position of the subject-object and the position of the reader in the film, the image of women and the beauty represented in it indirectly shows the existence of hyperiality that is believed to be socially in society. The concept of beauty is described as emerging through the construction of body size, including its influence on the career journey and the romance experienced by the character. In addition, the representations that appear also lead to the struggle of Rara (the main character) who tries to meet the standards and assessments of society so that her existence can be accepted socially
