This study was conducted to determine the approach of university’s students towards internet use. This study was carried out at the Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The main aim of the study was to know the internet use pattern of university students, Problems in the way of internet use and students satisfaction from University internet facility. The study was based on a quantitative research technique. Data was collected through questionnaires and Stratified Convenience Sampling technique was used for data collection. The findings of the study revealed that students mostly use the internet for academic purposes, social networking and other good purposes. The Internet has a good impact on the academic performance of the students

Effect of Viscosity Parameter on Numerical Simulation of Fire Damaged Concrete Columns

The assessment of the residual strength of post-heated concrete structural members in a professional way is a prime factor to take a decision about the restoration or destruction of fire-damaged structure. This Paper explores the numerical modelling of RC square columns damaged by exposure to heat at 5000C, unjacketed. Software ABAQUS was used for numerical modelling of fire damaged compression member i-e column. The main objective of this study is prediction of axial load and axial deformation of fire damaged concrete using finite element studies. Moreover, a parametric nonlinear finite element (FE) research is carried out to check the effect of viscosity parameters on numerical simulation of fire damaged concrete columns. For the said objectives, numerical simulation of existing experimental study of fire damaged RC columns is conducted with varied values of viscosity parameters. The numerical analysis (Finite Element Modeling) indicated that axial load capacity decreases and axial deformation increases after exposure to fire. The experimental and numerical studies are compared in terms of load displacement analysis. The use of optimum viscosity parameter and its definition to FEM improves significantly the performance of convergence and reduces analysis time of numerical simulations of RC square columns.  Moreover, a good agreement was found between the experimental and the finite model results

Assessing the Determinants of Savings in Pakistan: An Evidence from PSLM 2010-11

The present study aims at investigating the determinants of the savings in Pakistan by using Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement (PSLM) survey data collected by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) for the year 2010-11. The Multiple Regression Model is estimated for finding out the household saving determinants. The results reveal that savings have positive relationship with income, livestock, number of earner, while these are negatively related with education, gender of the household head and poverty in Pakistan. The regional level analysis reveals that marginal propensity to save is higher in rural areas as compared to urban counterpart. Among the provinces it is the highest in Punjab and lowest in Sindh. To promote savings among households in Pakistan, policies aiming at increasing income of the people should be formulated and implemented. Other policies include creation of job opportunities and provision of loan for livestock especially for the poor and females

The Present research was conducted on “Explorative study of Parents Education effect on the Socialization of their Children” (A case of District Muzaffar Garh). In Pakistan, Education is overseen by the government, NGOs and different private sector. The education system in Pakistan is generally divided into five levels: primary (grades one to five), middle (grade six to eight), high (grade nine to ten), intermediate (grade eleven to twelve) and universities programs (undergraduate and graduate degree). The main focus of this research was to identify the major factors, those effect on the socialization of the children. Despite of all factors, parent’s education has significant effect on the socialization of their children. Due to parent’s low literacy rate, due to their low level of education, due to some economical, cultural and organizing issues families have bad effect on their children socialization. So in this research those problems or issues were analysis and highlighted those create hurdles in the socialization of the children. Data analysis and testing of hypothesis show that educated parents socialize their children in well manner way as compare to uneducated parents. Educated parents children are more active and take part not only in educational activities but also in the other activities. Data also showed that some time teachers do hard work but the back up support does not come from the parents. The reason is that the illiterate /lesser educated parents do not realize the value of education Keywords: Affection, Level, Education, Socialization, Participant

Procedural justice and organizational commitment are extensively studied factors paying significantly in organizational success. The objective of this study was to measure the effect of procedural justice on organizational commitment. For the said purpose primary data have been collected from 120 academicians of Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, Pakistan. A likert type questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection. The data was collected through questionnaire and put in the data matrix on SPSS 17. The regression was used to measure the effect of procedural Justice on organizational commitment. The results indicate that procedural justice has positive significant influence on organizational commitment. Keywords: Procedural Justice, Organizational Commitment, and Academicians, Pakistan.

MobChain:Three-Way Collusion Resistance in Witness-Oriented Location Proof Systems Using Distributed Consensus

Smart devices have accentuated the importance of geolocation information. Geolocation identification using smart devices has paved the path for incentive-based location-based services (LBS). However, a user’s full control over a smart device can allow tampering of the location proof. Witness-oriented location proof systems (LPS) have emerged to resist the generation of false proofs and mitigate collusion attacks. However, witness-oriented LPS are still susceptible to three-way collusion attacks (involving the user, location authority, and the witness). To overcome the threat of three-way collusion in existing schemes, we introduce a decentralized consensus protocol called MobChain in this paper. In this scheme the selection of a witness and location authority is achieved through a distributed consensus of nodes in an underlying P2P network that establishes a private blockchain. The persistent provenance data over the blockchain provides strong security guarantees; as a result, the forging and manipulation of location becomes impractical. MobChain provides secure location provenance architecture, relying on decentralized decision making for the selection of participants of the protocol thereby addressing the three-way collusion problem. Our prototype implementation and comparison with the state-of-the-art solutions show that MobChain is computationally efficient and highly available while improving the security of LPS
