The in-process control of PVC sheath of a double core cable
In this work the possibility of the sheath hermiticity testing by measuring of the cable capacity per unit length variation during spark testing is considered. The research object is 2•0.75 HO3VVH2-F cable. According to the physical modelling it is proved that such defect of sheath as pinhole through the whole thickness of sheath can be registered for the test length 10 cm with test voltage frequencies 1kHz and 10kHz
Thermoelectric prospects of nanomaterials with spin-orbit surface bands
Nanostructured composites and nanowire arrays of traditional thermoelectrics
like Bi, Bi(1-x)Sb(x) and Bi(2)Te(3) have metallic Rashba surface spin-orbit
bands featuring high mobilities rivaling that of the bulk for which topological
insulator behavior has been proposed. Nearly pure surface electronic transport
has been observed at low temperatures in Bi nanowires with diameter around the
critical diameter, 50 nm, for the semimetal-to semiconductor transition. The
surface contributes strongly to the thermopower, actually dominating for
temperatures T < 100 K in these nanowires. The surface thermopower was found to
be -1 T microvolt/(K^2), a value that is consistent with theory. We show that
surface electronic transport together with boundary phonon scattering leads to
enhanced thermoelectric performance at low temperatures of Bi nanowire arrays.
We compare with bulk n-BiSb alloys, optimized CsBi(4)Te(6) and optimized
Bi(2)Te(3). Surface dominated electronic transport can be expected in
nanomaterials of the other traditional thermoelectrics.Comment: 18 pages, 3 figure
The fate of the scientist as a reflection of the epoch: in memory of the first rector of the Kuban State Medical University Nikolai F. Melnikov-Razvedenkov
The paper analyzes the life and professional journey of Nikolai F. Melnikov-Razvedenkov, an outstanding scientist, doctor, and professor, as a reflection of Russian history from the end of the 19th century till the first quarter of the 20th century. The study identifies the role of Nikolai F. Melnikov-Razvedenkov in the development of medical science and the establishment of medical education in the Kuban region. The analysis was conducted with the involvement of archival records, personal correspondence, and scientific works of Nikolai F. Melnikov-Razvedenkov. To solve research problems, the authors used historical descriptive, comparative historical, problem-based chronological, biographical methods, and the method of monographic description. It is shown that the scientist’s fate mirrors the cultural and historical era experienced by the country. The authors define the exclusive role of Nikolai F. Melnikov-Razvedenkov in the establishment of the Kuban Medical Institute. His life path helped reveal the inviolability of medical ethics based on mercy, dedication to the profession, and willingness to serve people. Even in the situation of social upheaval Nikolai F. Melnikov-Razvedenkov found the meaning of his life in scientific work and helping people. His example will allow the modern generation of doctors to gain a greater understanding of the essential purpose of their work
Radial-piston pump for drive of test machines
The article reviews the development of radial-piston pump with phase control and alternating-flow mode for seismic-testing platforms and other test machines. The prospects for use of the developed device are proved. It is noted that the method of frequency modulation with the detection of the natural frequencies is easily realized by using the radial-piston pump. The prospects of further research are given proof
Opportunities for improving personnel situation assessment in community pediatric services: a retrospective analytical descriptive study
Background. The variety of current methods for assessing the healthcare personnel resources remains insufficient to completely evaluate the actual staffing and needs of certain medical institutions. Using a combination of different sources of data enables a more comprehensive picture of the healthcare personnel situation to be obtained. Objective. To identify the potential for improving approaches to assessment of the personnel situation in community pediatric services at the regional level. Methods. The present study involved data from Krasnodar Krai, Astrakhan and Volgograd Oblasts: Federal Statistical Monitoring form No. 30 “Information on Medical Organization” for 2007–2022, as well as depersonalized data from the regional registers of medical workers and assigned population of Krasnodar Krai as of 01.01.2023. The methodology involved statistical and analytical methods. The study estimated the following parameters: community pediatric staffing in relation to? the child population, the staffing level of pediatric full-time positions, the rate of part-time jobs, and the average number of children per pediatrician. Results. The study justified the possibility of using additional sources of data to evaluate the personnel situation in local, municipal or regional healthcare institutions. The authors suggested an interactive analytical board for graphical visualization of the current state of healthcare human resources. Conclusion. The introduction of additional sources of information and monitoring in the healthcare human resources policy encourages a systematic comprehensive approach to estimating the staffing requirements
Development of functional purpose snacks
The article provides information on the development of new functional snacks based on local traditional and non-traditional raw materials. The uniqueness of the composition of snacks is associated with the presence in the recipe of dry mare's and camel's milk, as well as fruit and vegetable purees, dry strains of lacto and bifidobacteria, fucoidan and other food ingredients with increased nutritional and biological value. Evaluation of the chemical composition of the nutritional and biological value of snacks indicates their targeted antioxidant, detoxifying and immunostimulating properties. Functional snacks are recommended for use by the general public, including climbers, pilots of civil and military aviation, athletes, as well as in emergencies and conditions that adversely affect human health
Нарушения гемодинамики при взрывной шахтной травме (экспериментальное исследование)
The authors have studied hemodynamic features in explosive mine injury in the presence or absence of a preliminary exposure to premorbid mining factors. A combined influence of premorbid mining factors following an explosive mine injury has been ascertained to induce more severe systemic and cerebral hemodynamic disorders than an isolated explosive mine injury.
Carrier transport in porous-SiNic-Si nanostructures
In the present paper we have studied the peculiarities of carrier transport properties of nanoheterostructures
containing silicon substrate covered with porous silicon layer, where pores were either filled or non-filled with ferromagnetic Ni clusters. We have carried out DC conductivity experiments as a function of temperature (ranging from 2 to 300 K) and porosity of porous silicon layer (between 30% and 70%). Presence of a surface layer with high resistance on the porous silicon top and its role in nanoheterostructure formation was revealed. It was shown that specific electrochemical kinetics of Ni deposition into porous silicon significantly influences resultant nanostructure resistance and high temperature conductance activation energy
