Neutrino scattering off pair-breaking and collective excitations in superfluid neutron matter and in color-flavor locked quark matter

We calculate the correlation functions needed to describe the linear response of superfluid matter, and go on to calculate the differential cross section for neutral-current neutrino scattering in superfluid neutron matter and in color-flavor locked quark matter (CFL). We report the first calculation of scattering rates that includes neutrino interactions with both pair-breaking excitations and low-lying collective excitations (Goldstone modes). Our results apply both above and below the critical temperature, allowing use in simulations of neutrino transport in supernovae and neutron stars.Comment: 22 pages, 9 figure

The Stability of Strange Star Crusts and Strangelets

We construct strangelets, taking into account electrostatic effects, including Debye screening, and arbitrary surface tension sigma of the interface between vacuum and quark matter. We find that there is a critical surface tension sigma_crit below which large strangelets are unstable to fragmentation and below which quark star surfaces will fragment into a crystalline crust made of charged strangelets immersed in an electron gas. We derive a model-independent relationship between sigma_crit and two parameters that characterize any quark matter equation of state. For reasonable model equations of state, we find sigma_crit typically of order a few MeV/fm^2. If sigma <= sigma_crit, the size-distribution of strangelets in cosmic rays could feature a peak corresponding to the stable strangelets that we construct.Comment: 11 pages, LaTe

Thermal energy storage system using phase change materials: Constant heat source

    Get PDF
The usage of phase change materials (PCM) to store the heat in the form of latent heat is increased, because large quantity of thermal energy is stored in smaller volumes. In the present experimental investigation paraffin and stearic acid are employed as PCMs in thermal energy storage (TES) system to store the heat as sensible and latent heat also. A constant heat source is used to supply heat transfer fluid (HTF) at constant temperature to the TES system. In the TES system PCMs are stored in the form of spherical capsules of 38 mm diameter made of high density poly ethylene (HDPE). The results of the investigation are related to the charging time and recovery of stored energy from the TES system

Mobile Sink Node with Discerning Motility Approach for Energy Efficient Delay Sensitive Data Communication over Wireless Sensor Body Area Networks

The sensors nearby the static sink drains their energy resources rapidly, since they continuously involve to build routes in Wireless sensor networks, which are between data sources and static sink. Hence, the sensors nearby the sink having limited lifespan, which axing the network lifetime. The mobile-sink strategy that allows the sink to move around the network area to distribute the transmission overhead to multiple sensor nodes. However, the mobile-sink strategy is often tall ordered practice due to the continuous need of establishing routes between source nodes and the mobile sink (MS) at new position occurred due to its random mobility. In regard to above stated argument, this manuscript proposed a novel energy data transmission strategy which is effective for WSN with mobile sink. Unlike the traditional contributions, which relies on mobile sink with random mobility strategies, the proposal defines a discerning path for mobile sink routing between sectioned clusters of the WSN. The proposal of the manuscript titled “Mobile Sink Node with Discerning Motility Approach (MSDMA) for Energy Efficient Data Communication over WBAN”. The method defined in proposed model sections the target network in to multiple geographical clusters and prioritize these clusters by the delay sensitivity of the data transmitted by the sensor nodes of the corresponding clusters. Further, discriminating these clusters by their delay sensitive priority to define mobile sink route. For estimation of the delay sensitive priority of the clusters, set of metrics are proposed. The experimental study carried on simulation to assess the significance of the suggested method. The performance improvement of the suggested method is ascended through comparative analysis performed against benchmark model under divergent metrics

Crushing and Grinding : Practice and Problems in Kalyadi Copper Mine Concentrator

    Get PDF
At Kalyadi concentrator plant the ROM ore is required to be reduced to 70% - 200 mesh size for liberation of valuable mineral. The metallic minerals that are mainly present in the ore are chalcopyrite, pyrite, magnetite and pyrrhotite the latter two being of minor occurance within quartzite. These minerals occur as disseminations, specks, particles, thin veinlets and concentrations. Ore is highly abrasive in nature with specfic gravity of 2.9. Ore grade varies from 0.5 to 0.8% Cu. giving an average grade of 0. 65% Cu

van der Woude syndrome- a syndromic form of orofacial clefting

    Get PDF
van der Woude Syndrome is the most common form of syndromic orofacial clefting, accounting for 2% of all cases, and has the phenotype that most closely resembles the more common non-syndromic forms. The syndrome has an autosomal dominant hereditary pattern with variable expressivity and a high degree of penetrance with cardinal clinical features of lip pits with a cleft lip, cleft palate, or both. This case report describes van der Woude syndrome in a 19 year old male patient with a specifi c reference to the various aspects of this condition, as clinical appearance, etiological factors (genetic aspects), differential diagnosis, investigative procedures and management

Audio Information Retrieval using Sinusoidal Modeling based Features

    Get PDF
In this paper, we propose an approach for searching a speech query word in an audio data base. In this approach, we explore Sinusoidal modeling based features such as Amplitude, Frequency and Phase of the speech signal. Three independent systems are built using these features. Further, the Majority voting logic is used to arrive at a conclusion to locate (time stamp) the query word in the reference utterances. The studies are performed on the TIMIT database. The results show that, Sinusoidal based features can be used for speech processing in place of conventional approaches
