Emotion-Oriented Behavior Model Using Deep Learning

Emotions, as a fundamental ingredient of any social interaction, lead to behaviors that represent the effectiveness of the interaction through facial expressions and gestures in humans. Hence an agent must possess the social and cognitive abilities to understand human social parameters and behave accordingly. However, no such emotion-oriented behavior model is presented yet in the existing research. The emotion prediction may generate appropriate agents' behaviors for effective interaction using conversation modality. Considering the importance of emotions, and behaviors, for an agent's social interaction, an Emotion-based Behavior model is presented in this paper for Socio-cognitive artificial agents. The proposed model is implemented using tweets data trained on multiple models like Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Convolution Neural Network (CNN) and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) for emotion prediction with an average accuracy of 92%, and 55% respectively. Further, using emotion predictions from CNN-LSTM, the behavior module responds using facial expressions and gestures using Behavioral Markup Language (BML). The accuracy of emotion-based behavior predictions is statistically validated using the 2-tailed Pearson correlation on the data collected from human users through questionnaires. Analysis shows that all emotion-based behaviors accurately depict human-like gestures and facial expressions based on the significant correlation at the 0.01 and 0.05 levels. This study is a steppingstone to a multi-faceted artificial agent interaction based on emotion-oriented behaviors. Cognition has significance regarding social interaction among humans

This study will be helpful to decision authority in banks to identify factors contributing towards turnover intention.Â

A comprehensive review on role of phytochemicals in human health

    Get PDF
Phytochemicals are plant extracts that are widely used due to their ability to provide health benefits and their therapeutic activity against several disorders. They are also called phytonutrients as they are not really the part of our diet but have several positive effects on ourhealth. They are found to decrease the risk factor of cardiovascular disorders and coronary heart disorders. It has also been found that phytochemicals diminish the risk ratio of several types of cancers including breast, colon and skin cancers. This article revolves around taking carotenoids, chlorophyll and fibers as examples of phytonutrients to evaluate their beneficial role in several diseases. These phytochemicals have been found to be associated with antioxidant activity, retinol activity, cell signaling, improvement of glycemic control, protection against high blood pressure, facilitation in defecation and anti-cancerous activity

    Get PDF
Purpose: To determine the role of duplex Doppler ultrasonography (DDU) in Patients with acute unilateral renal obstruction. Subjects And Methods:A total of 161 Patients with suspected renal colic due to urolithiasis were evaluated by DDU followed by intravenous urography (IVU). The mean intra-arterial resistive index (RI) and the difference of mean resistive index between both kidneys (delta RI) were determined for each person. An RI value of ≥0.70 and a delta RI value of ≥0.06 were taken as the discriminatory threshold for obstruction. IVU results were considered the reference standard against which renal DDU findings were compared. Results: IVU showed both kidneys to be normal in 51 Patients and with unilateral ureteric obstruction in 110 Patients. The mean RI for obstructed kidneys was 0.67 (0.048), which was significantly higher (P-value Conclusion: Delta RI is more sensitive and specific than RI in acute renal obstruction. However, due to relatively low sensitivity for detection of partial obstruction, DDU cannot replace IVU as the standard imaging technique

OBJECTIVE: To review the effectiveness of therapeutic transarterial embolization in controlling phagic urological emergencies irrespective of the cause of emergencies. METHODS: Thirty-seven vascular angiographies were performed in 32 patients (19 males and 13 females, age range 19-70 years) who were referred with haemorrhagic urological emergencies to Aga Khan University Hospital\u27s angiography suite from July 2005 to June 2010. Embolization was performed with coils, polyvinyl alcohol particles, N-Butyl cyanoacrylate glue and gel foam according to the clinical indication. Data on clinical indication, technique, site and type of bleeding lesions were obtained from a retrospective review of medical records. Success rate, clinical outcome and complications of the procedure were analysed. RESULTS: Indications of procedure included iatrogenic injury (16), Renal mass on clinical examination and imaging (4), haematuria with pseudoaneurysm on examination (3), haematuria with no known cause (3), post traumatic renovascular injury (2) Renal arteriovenous fistulas (2), Carcinoma of prostate (1) and pelvic arteriovenous (AV) fistula (1). Twenty four patients underwent successful endovascular control of bleeding. Eight examinations were negative for active extravasation, two of whom showed haemorrhage in second session and were embolized. Two sessions were needed in two patients at different time intervals. Complication as dislodgement of coil in distal profunda femoris artery was seen in one patient with no significant obstruction to flow. CONCLUSION: Transarterial renal angioembolisation is a safe and effective therapeutic tool for managing haematuria or haemorrhage in urological emergencies. Wherever and whenever indicated it should be the first preferred treatment modality

The present study has been designed to analyses moral literacy and Islamic values among students in higher education institutions (HEIs) in Pakistan. Moral literacy and Islamic values are taught in all educational institutions in Pakistan directly and indirectly. A sample of 1512 university students of the BS program (4 Years) has been selected through a proportionate random sampling technique from two faculties of the University of Gujrat i.e. Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Sciences. A cross-sectional survey has been conducted using a structured questionnaire from the students. Pilot testing has been conducted on 30 randomly selected students to proceed to the final data collection. The study findings show that moral literacy and social justice have a favorable effect on the teaching of Islamic values to students at the tertiary level of education. It is worth stating that the study also shows a similar nature of results in favour of forgiveness and kindness to predict Islamic values. It is believed that faith plays an important role in the promotion of social justice, forgiveness, kindness, humanity respect, sincerity, and moral literacy in Pakistan

    Emojional: Emoji Embeddings

    Get PDF
Emojis are intended to illustrate or replace words in natural language. Although they are understandable across linguistic barriers, their implications are ever-evolving, and change depending on who we are talking to, and when. The underlying emotion is key. This is evident in language online, highlighted recently by the rise of cancel culture via online shaming. For example, the use of the clown emoji to signify someone is making a fool of themself, or the collective spamming of the snake emoji to “cancel” someone, both show seemingly innocent emojis being used as clear forms of aggression online. To capture these nuances, we have created novel emoji embeddings trained on their emotional content. The subsequent emoji embeddings are generally more accurate than the state-of-the-art embeddings on the task of sentiment analysis. These embeddings can be found in our GitHub repository: https://github.com/elenabarry/emojional

In silico mutation analysis of human beta globin gene in sickle cell disease patients

    Get PDF
Background: Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that affects red blood cells. People with sickle cell conditions make a different form of hemoglobin a called hemoglobin S. Sickle cell conditions are inherited from parents in much the same way as blood type, hair color and texture, eye color and other physical traits. Sickle cell disease occurs due to a single mutation on the b-globin gene, namely, a substitution of glutamic acid for valine at position 6 of the b chain. Several mutations in HBB gene can cause sickle cell disease. Abnormal versions of beta-globin can distort red blood cells into a sickle shape. The sickle-shaped red blood cells die prematurely, which can lead to anemia. The study is focused on analysis of HBB gene with its different variants, Evolutionary pathways and protein domains by using various bioinformatics tools. Methods: The study is focused on analysis of HBB gene with its different variants, Evolutionary pathways and protein domains by using various bioinformatics tools. Results: Sickle cell disease occurs due to a single mutation on the b-globin gene, namely, a substitution of glutamic acid for valine at position 6 of the b chain. Several mutations in HBB gene can cause sickle cell disease. Abnormal versions of beta-globin can distort red blood cells into a sickle shape. Comparative study shown 38 different genes with little genetic variation among different species. Conclusion: Studies suggested that there is need to maintain a primary prevention program to detect sickle cell disease at earlier stages despite having a large high risk. Preventive diagnosis and follow-up would reduce infant mortality by preventing the development of severe anemia as well as dangerous complications. In short, sickle cell disease surveillance would avert loss of life, measured as the number of years lost due to ill-health, disability or early death.

The present study describes the imaging findings in a patient with dural arteriovenous fistula (AVR) and arteriovenous malformation (AVM) with bilateral subcortical and basal ganglia calcification. A 29 year old male patient presented with chief complaint of recent onset of generalized tonic clonic seizures and mild disorientation. The imaging studies on MCT demonstrated diffuse, symmetric calcification in the bilateral basal ganglia and subcortical white matter. MR imaging and angiography revealed AVM in parietooccipital region with supply predominantly from left posterior cerebral and middle cerebral arteries. Multiple dural feeders from meningeal branches of occipital and superficial temporal branches of bilateral external carotid and right internal carotid arteries. Calcification is proposed to be due to chronic reflux into the parenchymal veins or vascular steal phenomenon. This rare co-occurrence of subcortical calcification in a patient with a dural AVF and AVM is being reported
