    Teaching and learning is a process involving interaction with active communication between students and teacher in educational activities. Therefore we need a method of learning that is focused to the students. That is why required a learning model that empowers students to be more actively involved in the learning process at schoolis mind mapping. The aim of this study is to describe and determine the differences in use mind mapping in class X SMA Negeri 1 Palu on the subject of atomic structure. The population in this research was class X (n =408 student) academic year 2013/2014. The sample of this research was class X 3 (using mind mapping method) while class X 5 as the control class (using concept maps), both of class have 34 students. Data collected was conducted by instruments, namely test results of studying chemistry at the atomic structure which has been validated before. The examination of data was conducted by using statistical analysis two tailed t-test with the prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity test). The average score in the experimental class is 77.15 while the average score in control class is 68.44. Based on statistical hypothesis testing to two tailed t-test obtain tcalculation = 10.89 > ttable = 2.00 at α = 0.05 with criteria if Ho is accepted tcalculationttable(1–α), (n1 + n2). As result, H0 is not accepted due to tcalculation was in the rejection area of Ho. This indicates that there are differences in student learning outcomes through the application between the mind mapping and the concept maps methods in class X SMA Negeri 1 Palu

    Dadap red (erythrina crista-galli L.) is belonged to the legumes (fabaceaea) family which, is one of the flowering shade plants that often used as an ornamental plant. This plant has a bright red flower, a taproot with root nodule bacteria nitrogen fixation and compound leaf consists three strands on each stem. This research is climed to proves that the extract of dadap red flower can be used as acid-base indicators. Dadap red flowers was macerated using methanol then filtered. The filtrate was ready to use as an acid-base indicator. The extract is tested in an acid-base, buffer solutions, and was compared with phenolphthalein for a strong acid with a strong base while a methyl orange a weak base with a strong acid. Based on the result, indicator of dadap red flower extrat in the strong acid was red colour, while in the weak acid was pink, and also in the strong base was dark green and in the weak base was purple. Furthermore, in the buffer solution, the indicator of dadap red flower extract gave four groups of colour change, namely red color at pH 1 to pH 6, colorless at pH 7 to pH 9, brown at pH 10 and blue at pH 11 to pH 12. Additionally, to attain the end point of titration, the indicators of dadap red flower extract gives a similar results with the comparison indicators. The results showed that the indicator of dadap red flower extracts can be used as an alternative indicator

    A research about the influence of mind mapping through brain-based learning in chemical bonding subject on students learning outcomes in class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Marawola has done. The problem in this research whether there was an influence of mind mapping through brain-based learning to the learning outcomes of students in chemical bonding subject in class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Marawola. The aim of this study is to determine the influence of mind mapping through brain-based learning in chemical bonding subjecton student learning outcomesin class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Marawola. This study is a quasi-experiment with purposive sampling. The sample of research consists of two classes, MIA 1, consist of 26 students as a experiment class taught with brain-based learning using mind mapping method and class X MIA 3, consist of 26 students as a control class taugth with brain-based learning using the scientific method. Research results obtained value of x, in the experimental class = 79.30 with a standard deviation = 13.80 and in the control class = 74.30, with a standard deviation = 11.80. From these results, a testing for normality class was done, in the experimental class χ2 value= 4.71 and in the control class χ2 value= 1.85 with the χ2 table = 7.81. The data is normally distributed it as can be seen that both in the experimental class and the controll class χ2 value is less than χ2 table, 4.712.02) in significance level χ = 0.05 and degrees of freedom dk = 50. It can be concluded that the mind mapping through brain-based learning in these experiment class on chemical bonding subject give a positive effect on student learning outcomes in comparison with the control class SMA Negeri 1 Marawola

    Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar IPA Khususnya Materi Energi Dan Perubahannya Melalui Pembelajaran Quantum Teaching Di Kelas V SDN Inpres Matamaling

    Tujuan penelitian, untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA khususnya materi energi dan Perubahannya di kelas V SDN Inpres Matamaling melalui pembelajaran Quantum Teaching. Jumlah siswa sebanyak 20 orang. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Rancangan penelitian mengikuti tahap penelitian yang mengacu pada modifikasi diagram Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yaitu 1) Perencanaan tindakan, 2) Pelaksanaan tindakan, 3) Observasi, dan 4) Refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi guru dan siswa, serta tes hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar, dari siklus I ke siklus II. Peningkatan tersebut dibuktikan dengan hasil analisis tes hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh pada siklus I, yakni siswa yang tuntas 15 dari 20 siswa atau persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 75% dan daya serap klasikal 72,2%, serta aktivitas siswa dalam kategori efektif. Pada siklus II siswa yang tuntas 20 dari 20 siswa atau ketuntasan klasikal 100% dan dan daya serap klasikal sebesar 87,7%, serta aktivitas siswa berada dalam kategori sangat efektif. Dengan demikian, berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan Pembelajaran Quantum Teaching dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA khususnya materi energi dan Perubahannya di kelas V SDN Inpres Matamaling

    Tujuan penelitian untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat benda cair dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi pada siswa kelas IV SD Inpres 2 Sienjo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Pelaksanaan penelitian tindakan kelas ini di rencanakan terdiri dari empat komponen yakni: (1) rencana tindakan (2) pelaksanaan tindakan (3) observasi (4) evaluasi (5) refleksi. Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep terhadap sifat-sifat benda cair pada pembelajaran sains di kelas IV SD Inpres 2 Sienjo setelah diterapkan metode demonstrasi. Adapun nilai rata-rata pada tahap pratindakan sebesar 14. Hal ini pemahaman siswa berada pada kualifikasi kurang sekali (E). Hasil belajar siswa untuk siklus I mencapai nilai rata-rata 51,75. pemahaman siswa berada pada kualifikasi cukup (C). Hasil belajara siswa pada siklus II mencapai nilai rata-rata 74,25. pemahaman siswa masih berada pada kualifikasi cukup (C). Dan siklus III dapat meningkat menjadi 95,75. Jadi pemahaman siswa berada pada kualifikasi amat baik (A). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkat pemahaman siswa terhadap sifat-sifat benda cair pada pembelajaran sains di kelas IV SD Inpres 2 Sienjo

    Many efforts have been done in order to increase the quality of education. One of them is to improve the instructional process. The purpose of this research was to find out the difference of the grade X student's learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Marawola through the application of cooperative learning of buzz group type and conventional one on the topic of periodic table. The population was the grade X students in the academic year of 2013/2014. The samples were 25 grade XB students as the experimental group (buzz group typpe instruction) and 25 grade XA students as the control group (conventional instruction). The data were collected by using the test on the element periodic system. The testing of the research data was carried out by the t-test statictic analysis of two parts with prerequisite testing: normality and homogenity. It was obtained that the average scores of the experimental group and the control group that is 76.2 and 73.4. Based on the hypothesis analysis with to use statistic t-test it was obtained that tcalculated = 2.89 and ttable = 2.02 on the α = 0.05. this means that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected, for the the tcalculated was in the H0 rejection. This indicates that there is a difference of the student's learning outcomes instructed by the cooperative learning of buzz group type and the conventional one at SMA Negeri 1 Marawola

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara penerapan pendekatan inquiri dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa tentang Perubahan sifat benda dalam pembelajaran IPA pada siswa kelas IV SDN Siniu. Manfaat penelitian ini yaitu agar guru memiliki pengetahuan tentang teori pendekatan Inquiri untuk pemahaman konsep Perubahan sifat benda dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang terdiri dari 3 siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari 3 tahap, yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Berdasarkan hasil refleksi yang dilaksanakan pada siklus I diketahui bahwa hanya sebagian kecil siswa yang dapat mencapai indikator keberhasilan, pada hasil refleksi siklus II diperoleh data bahwa sebagian besar siswa telah mencapai indikator keberhasilan untuk materi yang sama dengan siklus I. Sedangkan hasil refleksi siklus III diperoleh data bahwa siswa yang mencapai indikator keberhasilan mengalami peningkatan dibanding dengan siklus II untuk materi yang berbeda. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah dengan menerapkan pendekatan inquiri dalam pembelajaran IPA tentang Perubahan sifat benda dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SDN Siniu

    The sweet potato is yellow is one that the carbohydrate that is high, so it can be used as one of the alternative raw materials for bioethanol. This study aims to determine the levels of ethanol sweet potato is yellow through fermentation with the use of yeast bread with a variety of time 3, 4, 5, 6, dan 7 days at room temperature. The results of the research showed glucose levels derived from the process of hydrolysis using acid HCl 21% were of 4.54% with high levels ethanol that optimum obtained through fermentation use of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae of 9.70% over fermentation 5 days
