Pencegahan Penyalahgunaan Narkoba Di Kurikulum Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan
This study was conducted in 2001, which aims to obtain the data relating to the level of the principal concerns of the drug abuse prevention materials in vocational high school curriculum and its implementation both in document form curriculum and teaching and learning activities in the classroom. School selection conducted by a two-stage stratified random sampling, by seting up 14 provinces, which each province was selected one district/city. Selection of provincial and district/city was done randomly. From each district/city was selected 5 schools by criteria of good, moderate, and less. The results showed that 81.54% of vocational high school principals have been concerned on drug abuse prevention programs included in the school program planning, despite the implementation level is not too high. This is such an evident from a source of ideas for planning school programs and integration of drug abuse prevention programs in the school curriculum that is still not big enough. Evaluation that is done by principals to teachers, showed that the assessment for drug abuse prevention materials were arely done. On the other hand, revealed that drug abuse prevention programs have a positive impact. Therefore, the program should keep continuing
Secondary, security threat, and sage: Eulogy effect and the framing of female politicians as political martyrs in the Elite press of South Asia
How do newspapers frame female politicians, and does this framing change after a female politician\u27s death during an election campaign? Benazir Bhutto, who served two terms as prime minister of Pakistan, was assassinated in 2007 by a terrorist group. South Asian newspapers framed her as corrupt, inefficient, and a threat to national security before her death; however, the elite press characterized her as a martyr and sage posthumously. Using qualitative content analysis, this study examines the editorial coverage of two newspapers ( The Hindu and The Times of India) in India and two newspapers ( The News and The Dawn) in Pakistan to examine how these elite newspapers framed Benazir Bhutto before and after her tragic death. We found that the framing of the slain leader changed from negative to positive after her assassination. The study concludes that her assassination influenced the media coverage and produced a eulogy effect that helped her party stay in power after her assassination
Measuring frequency fluctuations in nonlinear nanomechanical resonators
Advances in nanomechanics within recent years have demonstrated an always
expanding range of devices, from top-down structures to appealing bottom-up
MoS and graphene membranes, used for both sensing and component-oriented
applications. One of the main concerns in all of these devices is frequency
noise, which ultimately limits their applicability. This issue has attracted a
lot of attention recently, and the origin of this noise remains elusive up to
date. In this Letter we present a very simple technique to measure frequency
noise in nonlinear mechanical devices, based on the presence of bistability. It
is illustrated on silicon-nitride high-stress doubly-clamped beams, in a
cryogenic environment. We report on the same dependence of the frequency
noise power spectra as reported in the literature. But we also find unexpected
{\it damping fluctuations}, amplified in the vicinity of the bifurcation
points; this effect is clearly distinct from already reported nonlinear
dephasing, and poses a fundamental limit on the measurement of bifurcation
frequencies. The technique is further applied to the measurement of frequency
noise as a function of mode number, within the same device. The relative
frequency noise for the fundamental flexure lies in the range
ppm (consistent with literature for cryogenic MHz devices), and
decreases with mode number in the range studied. The technique can be applied
to {\it any types} of nano-mechanical structures, enabling progresses towards
the understanding of intrinsic sources of noise in these devices.Comment: Published 7 may 201
Management of Bureaucrats and Public Service Delivery: Evidence from the Nigerian Civil Service
We study how the management practices bureaucrats operate under correlate to the quantity of public services delivered, using data from the Nigerian Civil Service. We have hand-coded independent engineering assessments of 4700 project completion rates. We supplement this with a management survey in the bureaucracies responsible for these projects, building on Bloom and Van Reenen [2007]. Management practices matter: increasing bureaucrats’ autonomy is positively associated with completion rates, yet practices related to incentives/monitoring of bureaucrats are negatively associated with completion rates. Our evidence provides new insights on the importance of management in public bureaucracies in a developing country setting. JEL Classification: J33, O20
Renormalized Parameters for Impurity Models
We show that the low energy behaviour of quite diverse impurity systems can
be described by a single renormalized Anderson model, with three parameters, an
effective level , an effective hybridization , and
a quasiparticle interaction . The renormalized parameters are
calculated as a function of the bare parameters for a number of impurity
models, including those with coupling to phonons and a Falikov-Kimball
interaction term. In the model with a coupling to phonons we determine where
the interaction of the quasiparticles changes sign as a function of the
electron-phonon coupling. In the model with a Falikov-Kimball interaction we
show that to a good approximation the low energy behaviour corresponds to that
of a bare Anderson model with a shifted impurity level.Comment: 14 pages, 12 figures; Revised Sec. 2 and
Multiplet Effects in the Quasiparticle Band Structure of the Anderson Model
In this paper, we examine the mean field electronic structure of the
Anderson lattice model in a slave boson approximation, which should
be useful in understanding the physics of correlated metals with more than one
f electron per site such as uranium-based heavy fermion superconductors. We
find that the multiplet structure of the ion acts to quench the crystal
field splitting in the quasiparticle electronic structure. This is consistent
with experimental observations in such metals as .Comment: 9 pages, revtex, 3 uuencoded postscript figures attached at en
Production of Biocellulosic Ethanol from Wheat Straw
Wheat straw is an abundant lignocellulosic feedstock in many parts of the world, and has been selected for producing ethanol in an economically feasible manner. It contains a mixture of sugars (hexoses and pentoses).Two-stage acid hydrolysis was carried out with concentrates of perchloric acid, using wheat straw. The hydrolysate was concentrated by vacuum evaporation to increase the concentration of fermentable sugars, and was detoxified by over-liming to decrease the concentration of fermentation inhibitors. After two-stage acid hydrolysis, the sugars and the inhibitors were measured. The ethanol yields obtained from by converting hexoses and pentoses in the hydrolysate with the co-culture of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia stipites were higher than the ethanol yields produced with a monoculture of S. cerevisiae. Various conditions for hysdrolysis and fermentation were investigated. The ethanol concentration was 11.42 g/l in 42 h of incubation, with a yield of 0.475 g/g, productivity of 0.272 gl ·h, and fermentation efficiency of 92.955 %, using a co-culture of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia stipite
