Millipedes are one of the significant terrestrial fauna in the forest ecosystem to decompose the plants' debris. Despite their environmental significance, records on millipede distribution are quite scarce and invalid in Tamil Nadu, India. The first investigation is an attempt to assess the population of millipedes at different elevation levels of Sirumallai Hills from July 2020 to June 2021. The number of millipedes was recorded using pitfall trapping and quadrant sampling. Millipede diversity and distribution in different elevations were evaluated with the help of Shannon’s and Simpson’s indexes and richness and evenness were estimated by standard methods. A total of 8 species of millipede belonging to the order Polydesmida, Sphaerotheriida and Spirobolida were recorded in lower, middle and higher elevations. Our results showed that Orthomorpha coarctata, Oxidus gracilis, Haphaphe haydeniana, Aulabolus newtoni and Trigoniulus corallinus species were in found all the elevations and most abundant in lower elevations. Arthosphaera magna, Arthosphaera dalyi and Arthosphaera distica species were abundant in middle elevations and scarce in upper and lower elevations. Diplopod species abundance and diversity were lesser in lower and higher elevations when compared to the middle elevation.  Despite their richness similarities in all elevations, there were differences in the composition of the millipede species between the elevations

Objective: The main objective of the present work was to prepare and evaluate creams of celecoxib inclusions which are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug to treat psoriatic arthritis. Methods: Celecoxib inclusions were prepared using β-cyclodextrin to increase the solubility. These inclusions were incorporated in creams. Cocoa butter, triethanolamine, stearic acid, methylparaben, gum acacia, and coconut oil were used in cream preparation. Fourier transform infrared and differential scanning calorimetry studies were carried out for pure celecoxib and inclusions. Viscosity, pH, homogeneity, and type of emulsion under dye test were evaluation parameters done for creams. Results: All the results obtained were within the limits and confirmed increased solubility of celecoxib inclusions. Conclusion: From the results obtained, increase in solubility of celecoxib drug was confirmed by forming inclusions using β-CD as polymer

Boron-potassium nitrate (B-KNO3) (25/75) is a well-known pyrotechnic composition whichfinds application as energy-release system for small-calibre rockets and pyrogen igniters forlarger motors. The decomposition of the oxidiser in this composition is endothermic which canbe activated by the addition of high explosives, which decompose exothermically. This paperdescribes the influence of two nitramine explosives, RDX and HMX, on the ignition characteristicsof B-KNO3 composition using thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, heat andpressure output measurements. Different compositions were prepared by varying the amount ofRDX/HMX from 10 per cent to 50 per cent. Thermal studies on the B-KNO3/high explosivemixtures reveal that these undergo two-stage decomposition. The first stage corresponds to thedecomposition of high explosive and the second stage corresponds to that of the reaction betweenB and KNO3. Kinetic parameters were calculated for both the stages of TG curves using Coats-Redfern and Mac Callum-Tanner methods. Ignition temperature of B-KNO3 decreases on theaddition of RDX/HMX while the onset of RDX or HMX decomposition is not significantly affectedby B-KNO3. The pressure output of B-KNO3 increases on adding RDX/HMX. The heat outputof B-KNO3 is not much affected by the addition of RDX or HMX, even though the heat ofexplosion of RDX and HMX are low. This is due to the reaction between the combustion productsof RDX/HMX and reaction products of B-KNO3 to form more exothermic products like B2O3,releasing extra heat. The flame temperature of the charge increases while the average molecularweight of the products of combustion decreases as the RDX/HMX content increases. Thus, thecharge, on addition of RDX or HMX, produces higher pressure output, maintaining the heatoutput at comparable levels

Positioning misrepresentation in the portable Application business shows to false or dubious activities which have a motivation behind, thumping up the Applications in the popularity list. To be sure, it ends up being more endless for Application architects to adventure shady means, for instance, developing their Applications' business or posting fraud Application assessments, to ponder situating deception. While the ramification of abstaining from positioning misrepresentation has been by and large maintained, there is constrained comprehension and examination here. This paper gives an all-inclusive viewpoint of situating deception and proposes a Positioning misrepresentation distinguishing proof structure for versatile Applications. In particular, it is proposed to precisely discover the mining in order to posture blackmail the dynamic periods, to be particular driving sessions, of compact Applications. Such driving sessions can be used for recognizing the area irregularity as opposed to an overall anomaly of Application rankings. In addition, three sorts of verification s are investigated, i.e., situating based affirmations, displaying to rate based confirmations and study based evidences, Applications' situating, rating and review rehearses through genuine speculations tests. In the request, this paper gets the skill of the proposed system, and shows the distinguishing proof's flexibility estimation furthermore some consistency of situating deception works out

Restoration of deteriorated text sections in ancient document images using atri-level semi-adaptive thresholding technique

    Get PDF
The proposed research aims to restore deteriorated text sections that are affected by stain markings, ink seepages and document ageing in ancient document photographs, as these challenges confront document enhancement. A tri-level semi-adaptive thresholding technique is developed in this paper to overcome the issues. The primary focus, however, is on removing deteriorations that obscure text sections. The proposed algorithm includes three levels of degradation removal as well as pre- and post-enhancement processes. In level-wise degradation removal, a global thresholding approach is used, whereas, pseudo-colouring uses local thresholding procedures. Experiments on palm leaf and DIBCO document photos reveal a decent performance in removing ink/oil stains whilst retaining obscured text sections. In DIBCO and palm leaf datasets, our system also showed its efficacy in removing common deteriorations such as uneven illumination, show throughs, discolouration and writing marks. The proposed technique directly correlates to other thresholding-based benchmark techniques producing average F-measure and precision of 65.73 and 93% towards DIBCO datasets and 55.24 and 94% towards palm leaf datasets. Subjective analysis shows the robustness of proposed model towards the removal of stains degradations with a qualitative score of 3 towards 45% of samples indicating degradation removal with fairly readable text
