Infection of the urinary tract is the second commonest site after respiratory tract infection. It is more frequent in women than men. Almost 50% women suffer UTI. In our classical texts, urinary tract infection is described as Mutrakruchcha. A great Acharya Charak has mentioned it in Chikitsa sthana, Trimarmiya adhyay, its 8 types and Basti as a Marma. For the treatment of all types of Mutrakruchcha, Gokshur is mentioned. Gokshur is diuretic, aphrodisiac, tonic and rejuvenating herb with the ability to build lean muscle and strength. Gokshur possess Madhur rasa, Madhur vipaka and sheet Virya which causes diuresis by increasing Kleda in the body. So in this study 30 patients complaining of urinary tract infection were taken. 50 ml of Gokshur decoction, twice a day was given orally for 30 days. Weekly assessment was done on the basis of sign and symptoms like Mutra daha (burning micturition), Sashula mutrapravruti (painful micturition), Bastishul (suprapubic pain), Mutrapravruti (frequency of micturition), Jwaraprachiti (fever with chills), Sarakta mutrapravruti (haematuria), Sapuya mutrapravruti (pyuria). Objective improvement was done on the basis of reduction in pus cells in urine and serum creatinine at initial and after 30 days. Subjective improvement was shown in percentage it was 67.71%. The observations were found to be significant. Paired t test was found to be highly significant at 1 % level of significance i. e. p < 0. 01

    Get PDF
A field trial was conducted to determine the effect of cane thickness on berry quality and other biochemical parameters in 'Tas-A-Ganesh' grape at National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune, during the year 2008- 2009. Average bunch weight increased with increase in cane diameter. Own-rooted vines of cane thickness <6mm sprouted earlier than thicker canes. TSS of berries decreased with increase in berry size. Berries on grafted vines recorded lower TSS than on own-rooted vines. Biochemical parameters such as content of reducing sugars, carbohydrat and phenols were higher in grafted vines of cane thickness >10mm. Results indicate that thicker canes either on their own roots or on grafted vines are superior for yield and yield components, as also for physical properties of bunches and berries and total carbohydrate content of the canes

The number of Smartphone users and mobile applications are growing rapidly. Though smart phones are expected to have PC-like functionality, hardware resources such as CPUs, memory and batteries are still limited. To solve this resource problem, many researchers have proposed architectures to use server resources in the cloud for mobile devices. The system proposed conceptual architecture of development of android cloud for efficient implementation of platform as a service, which enables multiple user Android applications on cloud server via network. Though Android is mainly designed for physical Smartphone, Android’s too the features are useful to construct a server platform. Android is open-source product and run sonanx86 CPU. Android is an open-source mobile OS initiated by Google. The main reason to use Android as a server platform is that it is able to run not only for smart honesbutalso for the x86 platform including servers. We show three types of multi-tenant architecture for an Android server platform and discuss the direction to take to it reality

    Get PDF
Obesity is a health problem of affluence, of worldwide prevalence and is considered as the insidious creeping pandemic which is now engulfing the entire world. Obesity induces oxidative stress which is partly responsible for morbidities. The modern science fails to give a safe and effective remedy. Ayurveda can pave a way towards attaining the goal. In Ayurveda Charaka has mentioned Musta (Cyperusrotundus Linn.) in Lekhaniyamahakashay i.e. drugs acting as scraping agents. The rhizomes of Musta (Cyperusrotundus Linn.) contains flavonoids, ascorbic acid and polyphenol which are responsible for its anti oxidant activity. Open labelled study was done on 60 patients at Ayurved Mahavidyalaya Sion, Mumbai-22 for duration of 90 days. Out of 60 patients, 30 were advised to take Mustachurna 3 gm thrice a day with warm water along with diet and exercise while 30 patients were advised diet and exercise only. Monthly assessment was done on the basis of signs and symptoms like Atitrushna (excessive Thirst), Atiksudha (excessive hunger), Atinidra (excessive sleepiness), Atisveda (excessive sweating), Daurgandhya (excessive body odour), Anutsaha (laziness), Daurbalya (tiredness) and Kshudraswasa (breathlessness). Objective improvement was done on the basis of BMI, Waist: Hip ratio, and MDA (Malondialdehyde), GSH (glutathione peroxidase) enzyme study for oxidant activity at baseline and at the end of study (after 90 days). Subjective improvement is shown in percentage. Paired t test was applied to objective parameters which was highly significant at 1% level of significance i.e. p<0.01.in patients taking Mustachurna while in other group it was significant at 5% level of significance, concluding Mustachurna definitely has anti-obesity and anti-oxidant activity

STUDY OF NIRUDDHA PRAKASH WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO PHIMOSIS: A REVIEW

    Get PDF
In Ayurvedic Samhita Niruddha Prakash (phimosis) vyadhi (disease) is described to be formed because of vitiated Vata Dosha where constricted Shishnacharma (prepuce) covers Mani (glans penis). This creates obstructed, slow urine flow and the prepuce could not be retracted. Treatment described in Ayurvedic epics is dilatation of preputial meatus by Niruddhaprakash Nadiyantra and Vatadosh Shamak medicated tail (oil) Parishek (fomentation). Surgery is advised if this measure fails. Niruddha prakash has similar features to that of phimosis described in modern medical science. Recent researches shows that glans penis and prepuce has common epithelium and its complete separation essential for complete prepitual retraction exposing whole of glans may normally occur up to the age of 17 years. This may lead to wrong diagnosis of phimosis. Circumcision is considered as treatment of choice for phimosis. In this review article efforts have made to analyze description of Niruddha prakash in Ayurved Epics, and recent researches regarding development and separation of prepuce, non surgical treatment of phimosis for bypass of surgical and anaesthetic complications, and surgical procedure with less complications compared to circumcision that will preserve prepuce as it is important structure protecting glans and urethral meatus and also for coital pleasure.

    Get PDF
The Main objective of the implemented work is completely based on enhancing speed performance multiplication process using radix-32 modified Booth algorithm and Wallace Tree Structure. It is designed for fixed length 64x64 bit operands. In Wallace structure, 3:2and 4:2 Compressors are used which accumulate the partial products. The implemented modified Booth multiplier is verified and advantages over the existing multiplier are quantitatively analyzed. This implemented multiplier provides less delay 0.238 ns. Many researchers had been worked and presented the modified booth multiplier with optimized delay. In this paper, it has been shown that the implemented 64 bit multiplier provides better delay in comparison with those existing papers. A VHDL code has been written and successfully synthesized and simulated using Xilinx ISE 13.1 simulator software. Also partial products which are generated are less as compared to conventional multiplier. No. of logic blocks required for fast multiplication process has been reduced in terms of no. of slices in comparison with previous ones. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.150712

Effect of Canopy Management Practices during forward Pruning on Berry Development and Photosynthesis in Tas-A-Ganesh Grapes

    Get PDF
Effect of canopy manipulation during forward pruning on berry development and photosynthetic parameters was studied in Tas-A-Ganesh grape grafted onto Dogridge rootstock. Canopy manipulation including shoot thinning, leaf removal, shoot thinning with leaf removal, and shoot pinching, was done after forward pruning. Significant differences were observed in yield and quality. Shoot thinning to about 40 shoots per vine, with removal of three basal leaves, resulted in significantly higher yield, followed by that in shoot thinning alone. Lowest yield was recorded in the Control. Leaf removal drastically reduced bunch development affecting berry weight, diameter and length compared to other treatments. Among different canopy manipulation treatments, higher average bunch weight was recorded in shoot thinning plus leaf removal, whereas, lowest bunch weight was recorded with leaf removal alone. At harvest, the amount of total soluble solids in berries was low in leaf removal at pre-bloom stage, but increased in the treatment of shoot thinning with leaf removal, at the same stage. Different canopy manipulation treatments had significant impact on photosynthesis and transpiration rates. Overall results indicated that canopy manipulation practices such as shoot thinning, to retain 40 shoots per vine with or without leaf removal, followed by pinching, can be recommended to grape growers

Impact of heavy metal contamination in different soil towards microbial characteristics and nutrient availability

    Get PDF
An intensive investigation for detecting source of the heavy metals contamination in different areas (within industry, at roadside, adjacent agriculture lands) of various industries located at two sites A & B were made. Co-relationshipswere determined for specificmetal contamination in leacheates at sites with total contents of heavy metal at source. At siteA, it was observed that the leached fractions were highly correlated with the total contents of all tested heavy metals showing same source of contamination, whereas at site B relation was obtained only in case of Mn i.e 0.99, Zn i.e 0.82 and 0.70 for Cu, while, rest had sparse relationship, showing that the variability in heavy metal contents was caused by the different sources of contamination. The soil samples showed different microbial groups (cfu), in the order Bacteria > Fungi > Actinomycetes > RhizobiumandAzotobacters. The results indicated that the lowavailability of nutrients (NPK) in soil could be due to the heavy metal contamination which reduced the beneficial microbes such as Rhizobia and Azotobacters in contaminated soil
