Get PDF
The article analyzes consumers’ concern for healthy food, emphasizing the role of the vegetarian diet. Studies on the topic are available world-wide; however, none of these focuses on the role of vegetarian diet within the concern for healthy food, in Romania. In answering this question, a qualitative research was carried out on the customers of a store that sells natural food products and products certified as organic. The results indicate that vegetarian diet has a central role within the wider concern for healthy food, endorsing arguments to support the assertion. Hence, propensities in the consumer concerns to turn to healthier diets were identified, based on a system that diminishes or eliminates meat based diets. The conclusion of the qualitative research is a premise for future development of quantitative research, assessing the dimensions of this phenomenon.healthy food, consumer behaviour, market research, vegetarian diet, eating patterns, organic agro-food products, market strategy

The Drăgăşani vineyard has a favorable climate to ensure the ripening of the grapes as well as the strings necessary for next year's fruit. Being located in the Getic plateau, the vineyard has a temperate Mediterranean climate with oceanic influence. The study was carried out at the Research and Development Station for viticulture and vinification Drăgăşani on Olt Hill in 2019. The objective of the study was to monitor the influence of the climatic profile on the physico-chemical parameters in the grape ripening process. For the evaluation of the area, the active and useful balance, the real insolation, the sum of precipitations, the heliothermal index, hydrothermal coefficient, the bioclimatic index of the vine and the oenoclimatic aptitude index during the vegetation and development period were calculated

Given the conditions of European Strategy for Labour which was ratified also by Romania, that states an intensifying implementation at national level of labour policies and especially those regarding young person labour market integration, and taking into consideration the great human and agricultural potential of Lower Danube Region, we consider the implementation of national and regional programmes in order to train agriculture and rural development specialists to be very necessary. This article inquires the necessity of training agriculture and rural development specialists within Lower Danube Region in the context of cross-border cooperation between Romania and Bulgaria. This research starts by analysing the European and national legal framework of adult training in those two fields. Subsequently, the main premises and advantages of those activities were emphasized. It is good to mention that the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Romania, and the D. Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov, Bulgaria, proposed themselves to cooperate in the field of “human resources development – common development of skills and knowledge”. The legal base exists as the Romania-Bulgaria Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013 is enforced. Furthermore, a four years comparative study of the number of persons trained for the main jobs in rural area, including farmer, in Lower Danube Region was conducted. All these led to the idea that it is necessary to continue and to stress adult training of farmers and rural specialists as a solution for rural economy development and social welfare. Also, comparative analysis of supply and demand of professionals in the field of agriculture was elaborated. The main educational programs in training agriculture and rural development specialists were identified and some problems and perspectives were worked out. This research can be considered as a first step of future deeper and profound collaboration of Tsenov Academy of Economics, Svishtov and the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest in terms of creation of common Romanian-Bulgarian Research Area, as a part of European Research Area (ERA). It includes joint knowledge and skills development through cross-border linkages and exchanges between the universities, in accordance with Romania – Bulgaria Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.rural development, agriculture, training, cross-border cooperation, Lower Danube Region

Romanian agro-food products’ competitivity depends, as a priority, on their quality. There are some factors that conduct to a decrease in productivity for agricultural production in Romania and in its quality, the main are: financial difficulties in input supply, small dimension of the farms and lack of the technologies, management and marketing for the main part of the farms. In order to improve agro-food products’ quality, it is necessary to harmonize Romanian quality standards to those of the European Union and to support the quality of the traded agro-food products. One of the agro-food branches of the economy which may become competitive on the European Union market is wine, with the condition of quality improving. In this paper we present some measures for wine quality improving. We intend to present some ways of improving the wine quality.Wine; Quality; Agro-food products; Competitiveness.

Get PDF
Introduction: Preeclampsia is an exacerbation of a generalized inflammatory response, physiologically present in the third trimester of pregnancy.Aim: The aim of the study consists in the evaluation of proinflammatory cytokine TNF-α in the context of preeclampsia. Material and Method: A transversal study was performed in three groups of patients: non-pregnant patients, patients with normal pregnancies in the third trimester, patients with preeclampsia. Serum TNF-α levels were determined using the immunometric sandwich EIA method. Results: The results obtained confirm a significant increase (p<0.01) in circulating TNF-α levels in the last trimester of pregnancy, compared to the non-pregnant status. Significantly increased serum TNF-α concentrations (p<0.001) were also found in pregnant patients with preeclampsia, compared to normotensive pregnant women. Conclusion: This proinflammatory cytokine can be a potential marker of the severity of the preeclamptic syndrome, without being an indicator of the fetal status at birth

Molecular Structure of Phenytoin: NMR, UV-Vis and Quantum Chemical Calculations

Due to the presence of the carbonyl and imide groups in the structure of 5,5-diphenylhydantoin (DPH), the possibility for this compound to be involved in hydrogen bonding intermolecular interactions is obvious. Even though such interactions are presumably responsible for the mechanism of action of this drug, however, to the best of our knowledge, the self-hydrogen bonding interactions between the DPH monomers have not been addressed till now. Furthermore, studies reporting on the spectroscopic characteristics of this molecule are scarcely reported in the literature. Here we report on the possible dimers of DPH, investigated by quantum chemical calculations at B3LYP/6-31+G(2d,2p) level of theory. Twelve unique DPH dimers were structurally optimized in gas-phase, as well as in ethanol and DMSO and then were used to compute the population-averaged UV-Vis and NMR spectra using Boltzmann statistics. UV-Vis and NMR techniques were employed to assess experimentally the spectroscopical response of this compound. DFT calculations are also used to investigate the structural transformations between the solid and liquid phase, as well as for describing the electronic transitions and for the assignment of NMR spectra of DPH

PEDOLOGICAL, PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL DEFINITIONS OF THE RESPECTIVE SOIL STRATA WHICH COULD BE ENCOUNTERED ALONG A SLOPE WITHIN THE VINEYARD OF DEALUL OLT - DRĂGĂȘANI UPON WHICH THE VINE KIND OF TĂMÂIOASĂ ROMÂNEASCĂ HAS BEEN PLANTED

Within the Drăgășani oenological realm could be encountered a multitude of soil types and this is the reason why these ought to be precisely identified and delimited so that should a new vine plantation be founded in there the most appropriate engraft-bearing vine kind could be eventually chosen. Our scientific research investigation has thus identified its most appropriate experimental site upon a slope endowed with a slant degree of 10% and at the surface of which a plantation of the TămâioasăRomânească vine kind has been established. Three types of soil had been therefore identified along this above mentioned slope: Pseudo-rendsinian proto-soil of anthropic origin (within the slope’s upside third part); Argillaceous brown illuvial slightly pseudo-glazed (within the slope’s middle third part); Type-casted brown eumeso-basic (within the slope’s downside third part). The purpose of the present work is thus the one of outlining the respectively pedological, physical and chemical features of these above mentioned soil types
