The purpose of this study was to investigate the twelve weeks of aerobic dance impact on cardiovascular parameters of male obese adults. To achieve sixty (60) obese men were selected as samples for the experimental study. These subjects age ranged between 25 and 40 years. For this, a purposive sampling technique was used. Those who are diagnosed as obese by the consultant physician of the Pondicherry institute of medical sciences if the body mass index (BMI) was more than normal limits > 27.8. Further, the sample subjects were randomly assigned into almost two equated groups, namely Aerobic dance group (ADG) (n=30) and Control group (CG) (n = 30). All these subjects were residing within radius of one to three kilometers range in grater Puducherry. Blood pressure and heart rate was selected as criterion variable and measured with Omron Blood pressure and heart rate monitor. The aerobic dance training was administered 60 minutes per day for 6 days in a week for total period of 12 weeks. The data was collected before and after 12 weeks of training and analysed using ANCOVA. The result of the study showed that systolic and diastolic blood pressure between the groups was significant, F (1,57) = 7.69 and 4.488, indicating that after adjusting pre-test scores, there was a significant difference between the two groups on post- test scores on systolic and diastolic blood pressure. In contrast, heart rate found to be not significant, F (1,57) = 3.33. The findings of the study show that systolic and diastolic blood pressure tends to decrease as a result of aerobic dance training. It is concluded that aerobic dance is the proper physical activity form for 30-40 years old men obese subjects for developing cardiovascular system capacity. The stress on the cardiovascular system is minimised due to aerobic dance which was fun and recreative. This might improve the life status of the obese subjects

The accessibility of the Aeronautical Information is available in format such as AIXM, these formats are most suitable for trained eyes and intended for the purpose of Aerodrome monitoring, Landing & Takeoff procedures and Navigation systems on full fledge devices designed and built for AIXM only. Let's say if we want to develop an Aerodrome game where we can land an aeroplane in an airport whose characteristics are close to the real ones on a cross platform friendly format, it is not possible with the current available formats. In this thesis we take advantage of ENAIRE Spain's Air Navigation and Aeronautical Information service provider, availing Aeronautical Information Publication service https://aip.enaire.es/AIP/#LEPA/LESJ, where they provide data regarding to Aerodromes in Spain in the form of PDF and CSVs. The pdfs are sually used by pilots and co pilots as a reference to identify hotspots, taxiways status and obstacles inside the aerodrome, CSV files serve as a data to feed GIS platforms such as QGIS and mostly used by researchers and other people who are involved in aeronautical domain to identify the obstacles in and around the Aerodromes. We used Python libraries such as Pandas, Camelot to extract and convert data from PDF which are in the form of tables. The extracted information which contains Geo Locations and other critical information such as area, altitude and Runways important properties such as Clear way, Strip dimensions & geographic reference point is combined with the Obstacles data such as Geo Location and other characteristics such as altitude, Lighting, Marking and other available information of obstacles such as Trees, vegetation, Signal Towers into a geojson format. The Generated output geojson files are viewed on a 2-Dimensional map on http://geojson.io/#map=2/20.0/0.0, which has two split panes where we can view the geojson information and its geolocation against each othe

Twenty-Four Hour Blood Pressure Variation and Cardiovascular Risks between Smokers and Nonsmokers

    Get PDF
There are short-term and long-term variations seen in blood pressure. An abnormal pattern in cyclic variations of blood pressure (diurnal or seasonal) correlates well with an increased cardiovascular risk for hypertension, regardless of the resting blood pressure level. Increased blood pressure reactivity to smoking is also associated with a higher cardiovascular risk, and may be a significant determinant of cyclic blood pressure variations. The purpose of the study was to compare systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) between smokers and non smokers and elicit the cardiovascular risk. To achieve the purpose twenty (20) male athletes were selected from Dept. of physical education and sports science, Annamalai University, among these selected subjects ten (10) were smokers and ten (10) were non smokers. The parameters analyzed were 24-hour daytime and nighttime systolic and diastolic blood pressure using sphygmomanometer. The data was collected at six different times of the day 02:00, 06:00, 10:00, 14:00, 18:00 and 22:00 hours respectively. The data was collected from smokers and non smokers on SBP and DBP and 2 Ă— 6 ANOVA with last factor repeated was computed. SBP and DBP showed significant variations between smokers and non smokers. SBP and DBP showed significant variations between smokers and non smokers at different times of the day. Not only the absolute value of blood pressure, but also the patterns of its excessive variation are closely related to the occurrence of cardiovascular events, so these patterns are clinically important. It may be difficult to explain the exact mechanisms of various abnormal short-term and long-term blood pressure variations at present. Smoking has been suggested as the causes of abnormal variations in blood pressure

Implementation of dual stack technique for reducing leakage and dynamic power

This paper deals with proposal of a new dual stack approach for reducing both leakage and dynamic powers. The development of digital integrated circuits is challenged by higher power consumption. Thecombination of higher clock speeds, greater functional integration, and smaller process geometries has contributed to significant growth in power density. Scaling improves transistor density and functionality ona chip. Scaling helps to increase speed and frequency of operation and hence higher performance. As voltages scale downward with the geometries threshold voltages must also decrease to gain the performance advantages of the new technology but leakage current increases exponentially. Today leakage power has become anincreasingly important issue in processor hardware and software design. It can be used in various applications like digital VLSI clocking system, buffers, registers, microprocessors etc. The leakage power increases astechnology is scaled down. In this paper, we propose a new dual stack approach for reducing both leakage and dynamic powers. Moreover, the novel dual stack approach shows the least speed power product whencompared to the existing methods. All well known approach is “Sleep” in this method we reduce leakage power. The proposed Dual Stack approach we reduce more power leakage. Dual Stack approach uses theadvantage of using the two extra pull-up and two extra pull-down transistors in sleep mode either in OFF state or in ON state. Since the Dual Stack portion can be made common to all logic circuitry, less number of transistors is needed to apply a certain logic circuit. The dual stack approach shows the least speed power product among all methods. The Dual Stack technique provides new ways to designers who require ultra-low leakage power consumption with much less speedpower product

Benzothiazole is one of the most important heterocyclic compound, weak base, having varied biological activities and still of great scientific interest now a days. They are widely found in bioorganic and medicinal chemistry with application in drug discovery. In the present study some novel benzothiazole derivatives were synthesized according to the scheme. All the synthesized benzothiazole derivatives have been characterized by using elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1HNMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy and further supported by mass spectroscopy. Purity of all the compounds has been checked on thin layer chromatographic plate and HPLC technique. All the synthesized compounds were tested for their antibacterial and antifungal activity (MIC) in vitro by broth dilution method with two Gram-positive bacteria, two Gram-negative bacteria and two fungal strains. The biological activities of the synthesized compounds have been compared with standard drugs Ciprofloxacin and Flucanazole. Analgesic activities were tested by Tail-flick method and Writhing method. The anti-pyretic activity was evaluated using Brewer's yeast induced pyrexia in rats. The compounds exhibited significant and moderate antibacterial, antifungal, analgesic and anti-pyretic activities. These compounds can be further exploited to get the potent lead compounds. The detailed synthesis and the antimicrobial screening of the new compounds are reported
