Effects of annealing and strain on La_{1-x}Ca_{x}MnO_{3} thin films: a new phase diagram in the ferromagnetic region
Oriented, single phase thin films of La_{1-x}Ca_{x}MnO_{3} have been
deposited onto (100)-oriented LaAlO_{3} (0.1<x<0.5) substrates using the Pulsed
Laser Deposition technique. While for some compositions the physical properties
(transport and magnetization) of the as-grown films are higher than the bulk
values, for other calcium contents the optimized properties are obtained only
after annealing under oxygen. These data can be partly explained by changes in
oxygen content, resulting in cationic vacancies and thus self-doping effects -
accompanying structural changes, may be the cause of properties beyond the
phase diagram. We propose a new phase diagram for
(La_{1-x}Ca_{x})_{1-y}\square_{y}MnO_{3} (0.1<x<0.5) thin films.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures submitted to Applied Physics Letter
Comparison Of Modified Dual Ternary Indexing And Multi-Key Hashing Algorithms For Music Information Retrieval
In this work we have compared two indexing algorithms that have been used to
index and retrieve Carnatic music songs. We have compared a modified algorithm
of the Dual ternary indexing algorithm for music indexing and retrieval with
the multi-key hashing indexing algorithm proposed by us. The modification in
the dual ternary algorithm was essential to handle variable length query phrase
and to accommodate features specific to Carnatic music. The dual ternary
indexing algorithm is adapted for Carnatic music by segmenting using the
segmentation technique for Carnatic music. The dual ternary algorithm is
compared with the multi-key hashing algorithm designed by us for indexing and
retrieval in which features like MFCC, spectral flux, melody string and
spectral centroid are used as features for indexing data into a hash table. The
way in which collision resolution was handled by this hash table is different
than the normal hash table approaches. It was observed that multi-key hashing
based retrieval had a lesser time complexity than dual-ternary based indexing
The algorithms were also compared for their precision and recall in which
multi-key hashing had a better recall than modified dual ternary indexing for
the sample data considered.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure
IN SILICO SCREENING AND PREDICTION OF LYCOPODIELLA CERNUA L. AGAINST CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF DNA GYRASE
Objective: The point of the review was centered around hindrance DNA Gyrase by mixtures of Lycopodiella cernua L., a perpetual plant through in silico studies.
Methods: The Chemical mixtures of the plant test was gathered from the L. cernua L. Molecules that fall inside Lipinski’s standard of five such particles are frequently distinguished and finished for docking. The natural action of the mixtures was dissected utilizing the pass online device. The worth of Probability to be dynamic (Pa) and idle (Pi) are investigated. The few mixtures recovered from the plant were examined for its conceivable critical cooperation with the objective protein utilizing sub-atomic docking studies.
Results: The compound 2-Ethylacridine had G-Score of - 7.1 Kcal/mol and framed hydrogen bonds with the buildup GLY showing the bond length of 2.0. The future point of view of the review is to decide the strength of the protein-compound complex through elements studies. The connections were noticed utilizing Pymol.
Conclusion: The came about compound showed higher adequacy than controlled (anti-microbial) compound, this demonstrates the plants potential to be a successful medication compound towards the objective. The plant mixtures ought to be investigated more to be an effective and potential medication particles
The effect of substrate induced strain on the charge-ordering transition in Nd_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}MnO_{3} thin films
We report the synthesis and characterization of Nd_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}MnO_{3} thin
films grown by the Pulsed Laser Deposition technique on 100 -oriented LaAlO_{3}
substrates. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies show that the films are 101
-oriented, with a strained and quasi-relaxed component, the latter increasing
with film thickness. We observe that transport properties are strongly
dependent on the thickness of the films. Variable temperature XRD down to 100 K
suggests that this is caused by substrate induced strain on the films.Comment: 3 pages REVTeX, 4 figures included, submitted to AP
A REVIEW ON TRANSDERMAL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM: A NOVEL TOOL FOR IMPROVING BIOAVAILABILITY
Among all the dosages, oral is the best route of administration for its advantages but due to flow of its demerits like poor bioavailability due to first pass metabolism and unpredictable nature of gastrointestinal absorption. Moreover, oral route is cost prohibitive and inconvenient. Transdermal patches are medicated adhesive patches when it was placed on the skin layer it will deliver the drug into the blood stream through skin layer. To overcome the side effects caused by the oral route, drugs given through transdermal are preferred as transdermal patch. By employing sustained release polymers, transdermal patches can be prepared using solvent casting method. Drug excipients compatibility studies are very important to determine whether the excipients are suitable for that drug or not. These compatibility studies are very important to maintain the stability of dosage form. Evaluation studies are very important to determine the accuracy of dosage form at the same time therapeutic action also. Some of the parameters such as weight variation, physical appearance, drug content, moisture uptake, folding, endurance, swelling study and physical appearance, in vitro dissolution studies, ex vivo studies, and in vivo studies were evaluated
RP-HPLC QUANTIFIABLE TECHNIQUE DEVELOPMENT FOR EVALUATING PREGABALIN AND ETORICOXIB COMBINATION IN TABLET AND BULK KINDS
Objective: This evaluation study aims to initiate a relatively sensitive RP-HPLC quantifiable technique for evaluating pregabalin (PRBN) and etoricoxib (ETRB) combination in tablet and bulk kinds.
Methods: PRBN and ETRB chromatographic evaluations were carried off using the “KNAUER C18 Eurospher II column (250 mm × 4.6 mm × 5 μ)”. The mobile phase (MBP) was driven into the KNAUER C18 Eurospher II column at a 1.0 ml/min run rate with an isocratic elution programme of 65% volume of 0.5 mmol sodium perchlorate 35% volume methanol, detected and evaluated the PRBN and ETRB content at 217 nm.
Results: The analysis of PRBN and ETRB is executed inside a run period of 15 min. The RP-HPLC quantifiable technique was developed to separate PRBN and ETRB and likely degradants formed from stress testing by isocratic elution. The RP-HPLC quantifiable technique developed was successfully validated to existing ICH limit guidelines and was confirmed as robust, specific, accurate, selective, precise, sensitive, and linear.
Conclusion: The RP-HPLC quantifiable technique developed here is more valuable and worthy for routine PRBN and ETRB analysis of tablets and bulk kinds
Short-course chemotherapy in neuro-tuberculosis - Brief review of clinical trials undertaken at the Tuberculosis Research Centre, Madras
Tuberculosis of the nervous system can present as tuberculous meningitis,
tuberculoma of brain, Potts paraplegia, tuberculosis of spine and rarely as arachnoiditis
and vasculitis.
Tuberculosis is conventionally treated for 12 to 18 months to ensure adequate cure,
stabilise quiescence and prevent relapses. With the introduction of rifampicin and
pyrazinamide it became feasible to shorten the duration of chemotherapy to 6 to 9
months. Many controlled clinical trials conducted all over the world have confirmed the
success of this approach in pulmonary tuberculosis by evolving 100% effective SCC
regimens 1-5. In a few studies especially tuberculous lymphadenitis, tuberculous abdomen
and pericarditis SCC has also been used and found to be as effective as conventional
regimens6,7. However, only recently has SCC been tried for neurotuberculosis. This
presentation briefly highlights some of the chemotherapy trials conducted at the
Tuberculosis Research Centre in some areas of CNS tuberculosis8-10.
What is SCC? SCC refers to chemotherapeutic regimens containing powerful
bactericidal drugs like INH, Rifampicin and Pyrazinamide, by the use of which the
duration of treatment of TB is reduced from the conventional 12 to 18 months to 6 to 9
months
Synthesis and Bioassay of Azolyl Benzothiazine Carboxamides
Cyclic sulfonamides (sultams) gained importance due to their potential pharmaceutical activity. Amongst these, 1,2-benzothiazine-1,1-dioxide and their derivatives represent the most familiar class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) available in the market. In fact, Meloxicam and Piroxicam, the members of oxicam family are used as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs. Azoles are potential chemical entities with a wide range of pharmacological activities such as anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antiparasitic. In continuation of our efforts to develop potential multifunctional heterocycles, we have synthesized novel azolylbenzothiazine carboxamides and studied their cytotoxic and antioxidant activities. The results of these aspects will be discussed. © 2020 Author(s).The authors Venkatapuram Padmavathi and Panga Siva Sankar are grateful to CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), New Delhi for financial assistance under the major research project
