The paper examines the antecedents of acceptance of social networking sites in retail franchise and restaurant businesses. The success of retail franchise and restaurant business oper-ators via social networking sites depends not only on organiza-tional benefits but also on their behavioral intentions of using it. Three hundred and twenty four samples collected from South Korean retail franchise and restaurant employees are analyzed using factor analysis, structural equation model techniques and one-way analysis of variance. The results of the study identify the three constructs of organizational benefits, perceived tangible assets and perceived intangible assets as for important ante-cedents to accept social networking sites for their business use. Moreover, higher position employees tend to have more favor-able perception of tangible assets and acceptance of social net-working sites for their business use

An exploratory treatise on consciousness and espousal of halal supply-chain: an Indian perspective

The purpose of this research is to be acquainted with the awareness and approval of halal supply chain among Indian manufacturers and distribution network members for haulage and warehousing activities from the perception of respective service suppliers. A total of 20 respondents, which consist of 10 transportation companies and 10 warehousing companies from the State of Andhra Pradesh in India were selected for the study by using purposive sampling method. The principal focal points of the discussions are on awareness and adoption of halal transportation and warehousing services chosen for the study in the comprehensive halal supply chain. A total of 90 percent and 70 percent of respondents from the transportation and warehousing companies respectively agreed that they know only about the concept of halal but do not have any exposure and ken on the halal supply chain. However, findings of this research won’t have extensive validity in the market, gaining an enough familiarity with the halal supply chain in the Indian social context is of immense importance. This is a pioneering attempt aimed to investigate the awareness and adoption levels of halal supply chain among Indian businessmen which are precious for supply chain companies to customize their services in the country as well to the world of academia

Graph based gene/protein prediction and clustering over uncertain medical databases.

Clustering over protein or gene data is now a popular issue in biomedical databases. In general, large sets of gene tags are clustered using high computation techniques over gene or protein distributed data. Most of the traditional clustering techniques are based on subspace, hierarchical and partitioning feature extraction. Various clustering techniques have been proposed in the literature with different cluster measures, but their performance is limited due to spatial noise and uncertainty. In this paper, an improved graph-based clustering technique is proposed for the generation of efficient gene or protein clusters over uncertain and noisy data. The proposed graph-based visualization can effectively identify different types of genes or proteins along with relational attributes. Experimental results show that the proposed graph model more effectively clusters complex gene or protein data when compared with conventional clustering approaches

Context rank based hierarchical clustering algorithm on medical databases (CRBHCA).

In this paper we propose a method that aims to reduce processing overheads by avoiding the need to choose between natural language processing tools such as part-of-speech taggers and parsers. Moreover, we suggest a structure for the immediate creation of a large-scale, annotated corpus with disease names, which can be applied to train our probabilistic model. In this proposed work, a context rank-based hierarchical clustering method is applied on different datasets relating to colon diseases, leukemia, mixed-lineage leukemia (MLL) and lymphoma medical diseases. An optimal rule-filtering algorithm is applied on these datasets to remove unwanted special characters for gene/protein identification. Finally, experimental results show that our proposed method outperformed existing methods in terms of time and clusters space

Methodology for NeuroSky Based System to Detect Objective Pain in Human Body

The goal of this dissertation is to develop methods that are capable of classifying different categories of electroencephalography (EEG) signal to help in the evaluation and treatment of neurological diseases to detect pain level in the human body. In order to have a broad understanding of classification, this chapter mainly provides an overview of classification including its concept, structure and commonly used methods of EEG signal classification

An optimized bearing parameter identification approach from vibration response spectra

    Get PDF
In the present work, an effective identification methodology bearing dynamic parameters using measured vibration responses at the bearing is proposed. The flexible rotor is analyzed by using finite element beam model with nonlinear hydrodynamic bearing forces due to floating ring bearing supports. The frequency domain responses at different operating speeds are initially obtained in both the lateral directions. The error function is formulated as an average difference in amplitudes of two lateral displacements at a bearing node with known reference signals over a frequency range. The design variables are the speed dependent direct and cross-coupled stiffness and damping parameters of the bearing. With the side constraints on the variables, the error is minimized by using a modified particle swarm optimization scheme. The accuracy of the approach is tested with noisy input signals

Role of Public Distribution System in Andhra Pradesh an Analysis

Public Distribution System in India has been one of the most crucial elements in food policy and food security system in the country. Public Distribution System in has close links with food security for the vulnerable segment of population. It is so because Public Distribution System is considered as a principal instrument in the hands of the government for providing safety net to the poor and the downtrodden. Public Distribution System is the largest distribution network of its kind in the world. It emerged out as rationing measure in the backdrop of Bengal famine as well as a war-time measure during Second World War.The Government of India in an effort to ensure fair supply of food items to all citizens of India instituted Fair Price Shops (FPS) under Public Distribution System (PDS). Essential commodities such as Rice, Wheat, Sugar, Kerosene, etc., are supplied to the targeted underprivileged sections as per the eligibility and at fixed by the Government of India. In spite of the best efforts by Government officials at various levels, there are a few bottlenecks and inconveniences to the targeted citizens in availing the services provided. Over the years, Public Distribution System has expanded enormously as poverty alleviation and food security measure to become a permanent feature of Indian Economy. The Andhra Pradesh state incorporated various modifications from time to time to make its implementation more relevant for the masses and to increase its effectiveness. This paper analyzes that whether Public Distribution System is able to achieve its objective of providing food security to the people. The present paper discusses a brief review of welfare schemes and also makes a study of existing Public Distribution System in Andhra Pradesh. An attempt has been made in this study to ascertain the problems prevailing in Public Distribution System and to recommend suggestions to make Public Distribution System is more effective
