    Mangrove ecosystem in Muna Regency,includingKembarMaminasa village, has been started to be exploited bythe local community. Unfortunately information about mangrove status and their condition are still negligible.The result of this study is useful to provide basic information for sustainable management of mangroveecosystems. A study of mangrove community structure was conducted at the Tembe River inKembar Maminasavillage, from September to November 2013. Mangrove community structure was analyzed using non-metricmultidimensional scaling technique and Bray-Curtis cluster analysis, while the most contributed species todifference of fish community structure was analyzed using SIMPER (similarity of percentages) procedure. Thedifference between the community structure in three different substrates(muddy, mud-sandy, sand-muddy) wasanalyzed using ANOSIM. All the statistics analysis were carried out using PRIMER v6 software.The results ofthe study showed that there were seven species found in the Desa Kembar Maminasa and they tended todistribute differently among three different substrate, creating three slightly different zones of mangrove fromseaward to landward. The community structure of the mangrove trees were different among the three differentsubstrates. Similar results were found in community structure of mangrove saplings and mangrove seedlings

    The analyses of Copper (Cu) has been performed in the sample of drum waste (tailings) gold mining in Poboya by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method.The alkaline destruction by the addition of HNO3 and HClO4 has been done by heating then distilled. The absorbance was measured at a wavelength (λ) = 324.7 nm on copper metal analysis. From the analysis,it was obtained copper metal in each drum consist of as follows drum A. 204.92 mg/kg, drum B 151.85 mg/kg, drum C 79.51 mg/kg, drum D 167.78 mg/kg, drum E 190.68 mg/kg, with the overall average value of 158.94 mg/kg. The data shown that the area gold mining at Poboya contain copper metal ion in high quantity

    Penyebab timbulnya masalah gizi adalah multifaktor, oleh karena itu pendekatan penanggulangannya harus melibatkan berbagai sektor terkait. Lingkungan merupakan salah satu faktor yang berkaitan erat dengan masalah gizi yang ada di Masyarakat, dimana perbedaan daerah pantai dan pegunungan mempunyai lingkungan yang berbeda sehingga menyebabkan perbedaan komoditi, pola produksi dan beragamnya jenis serta jumlah pangan yang dihasilkan sangat mempengaruhi status gizi anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat kecukupan energi, protein dan status gizi anak Sekolah Dasar Negeri daerah pantai dan daerah pegunungan Kecamatan Sindue. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional. Jumlah populasi yaitu 69 siswa yang semuanya dijadikan responden (total sampling). Hasil uji Independent Sample t test menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan kecukupan energi anak Sekolah Dasar Negeri daerah pantai dan daerah pegunungan (ρ=0,000). Terdapat perbedaan kecukupan protein anak Sekolah Dasar Negeri daerah pantai dan daerah pegunungan (ρ=0,000), uji Mann-Whitney test terdapat perbedaan status gizi anak Sekolah Dasar Negeri daerah pantai dan daerah pegunungan (ρ=0,017), Diharapkan kepada pemerintah daerah setempat agar memperhatikan pemerataan sumber daya alam yang ada antara daerah pantai dan pegunungan, serta diharapkan juga kepada institusi terkait yaitu Sekolah Dasar Negeri agar memperhatikan konsumsi makanan jajanan anak selama berada di lingkungan sekolah

    Mineral is inorganic component which is in the human body. The needs of mineral for the body can be obtained by consuming fruits. Pineapple (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) is one of fruits contains mineral such as potassium (K) and sodium (Na). the objective of the research was to analysis the mineral level (Na and K) contained in pineapple flesh that spread out in Palu City. The analysis of Na and K mineral level used flame photometry analysis. The research result show that pineapple Cayenne varieties (common pineapple) contains sodium mineral as much 3.71 mg/kg and potassium as much at 376 mg/kg. The pineapple Queen varieties (Bogor pineapple) contains mineral sodium as much as 2.41 mg/kg and potassium as much as 198 mg/kg

    Faktor-faktor Yang Berhubungan Dengan Perilaku Makan Pada Remaja SMA Negeri 1 Palu

    Perilaku makan adalah suatu keadaan yang menggambarkan perilaku seseorang terhadap tata krama makan, frekuensi makan, pola makan, kesukaan makan, dan pemilihan makanan. Konsumsi zat gizi yang tidak optimal berkaitan dengan kesehatan yang buruk. Bila konsumsi zat gizi selalu kurang dari kecukupan maka seseorang akan mengalami gizi kurang, sebaliknya jika konsumsi melebihi kecukupan akan menderita gizi lebih dan obesitas. Konsumsi zat gizi yang seimbang dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan akan membantu remaja mencapai pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang optimal. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku makan terbagi atas faktor eksternal dan internal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui “Faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan perilaku makan pada remaja SMA Negeri 1 Palu”. Jenis penelitian survei analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional Study. Populasi berjumlah 921 orang dan jumlah responden sebanyak 91 orang, menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Data penelitian ini diuji secara statistik dengan uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara pendapatan orang tua (ρ= 0,004) dan pengetahuan gizi (ρ = 0,000) dengan perilaku makan. Dengan pendapatan yang diperoleh, keluarga dapat mengonsumsi makanan bergizi seimbang seperti tahu, tempe, ikan, sayur-sayuran yang harganya relatif terjangkau. Melalui pengetahuan gizi, responden menjadi tahu bahwa kesehatan berhubungan erat dengan makanan yang dikonsumsi sehari-hari. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan pula tidak ada hubungan antara teman sebaya (ρ= 1,000) dengan perilaku makan. Mayoritas responden masih tinggal bersama orang tua sehingga orang tua masih memegang peranan penting dalam membentuk perilaku makan anak

    Kekurangan dan kelebihan gizi merupakan masalah gizi kronis dan akut yang mengancam anak usia sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kebiasaan sarapan pagi, asupan zat gizi, dan status gizi anak usia sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan analitik observasional. Populasi penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas 4 SDN Inpres 3 Tondo yang berjumlah 40 murid. Teknik sampling adalah total sampling. Besar sampel yang berhasil dikumpulkan adalah 30 murid, dan 10 murid tidak hadir selama penelitian. Variabel penelitian yaitu kebiasaan sarapan pagi, asupan energi dan zat gizi, dan status gizi. Intrumen penelitian adalah form food recall 24 jam, food model, microtoise. Analisis data menggunakan aplikasi Nutrisurvey, WHO Antro Plus, dan SPSS. Hasil penelitian yaitu asupan gizi yang kurang dari AKG yaitu energi (80,0%), karbohidrat (76,6%), lemak (70,0%), dan protein (63,3%). Kebiasaan sarapan pagi sebesar 86,2%. Status gizi (IMT/Umur) kurus (13,3%), gizi lebih (20,0%) dan normal (66,7%). Kesimpulan yaitu murid telah memiliki kebiasaan sarapan pagi namun kualitas asupan gizinya masih kurang dari AKG dan murid memiliki masalah kekurangan dan kelebihan gizi

    Risk Factors on Stunting Among Children Age 2-5 Years Old in Biromaru of Center Public Health

    Background & Objective: Stunted is a condition of disruption of growth in children caused by chronic malnutrition. Prevalence of stunting in Sigi regency is 45,20% (2015) and stunting incidence in Puskesmas Biromaru for children aged 2-5 are 60 cases (2017). This study aims to determine the risk factors of stunting events in children aged 2-5 years. Materials and Methods: Types of analytical survey research with Case Control design. Sampling method with total sampling and purposive sampling control sample based on certain consideration with ratio 1: 2, with case sample in this research as many as 60 children and control samples as much as 120, each sample is chosen based on age as matching. Stunting degree expressed by z-score height by age. Complete basic immunization data, feeding practice patterns, low birth weight and iodized salt obtained through interviews using a questionnaire and iodine test. The analysis used is the odd ratio with a significance level of 95%. Results: Complete basic immunization of OR 7,667 (95% CI 3,753-15,662), practice pattern of feeding OR 30,565 (95% CI 9.043-103,314), low birth weight OR 6,956 (95% CI 4,446-14,104) and iodized salt OR 8,632 (95% CI 4,268-17,456) is a risk factor for stunting events and has a significant relationship. Conclusion: Practice pattern of feeding is a major risk factor for stunting with OR 30,56

    Meningkatkan Aktivitas dan Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Pembelajaran Kimia Penyetaraan Reaksi Redoks melalui Lesson Study di Kelas XII IPA SMA Negeri 2 Palu

    The research about the balancing of redox reaction on chemistry subject has been done. This research was conducted on class XII IPA8 SMA Negeri 2 Palu with 28 of the student, in the first semester of the academic year 2014-2015. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative in which data processing use percentages and rating scale. The data is collected by observation sheets, questionnaires, and documentation. Implementation of lesson study on class XII IPA8 SMA Negeri 2 Palu is conducted in three meetings time (open class) with 3 phases; plan, do and see, respectively. Based on the results obtained every meeting by the researcher, the data activity of students is rising by 54.93, 59.86, and 74.30%. Furthermore, at the third meeting, the data obtained is an excellent category which means the student's activity in the lesson study was increased. These prove that through the lesson study can increase the activity of the learning process of students. In addition, based on the data analysis of the student's learning outcomes during three meeting times is increased. Average of completeness of student's learning outcomes of every meeting is 67.85, 85.71, and 100%, respectively. Again, these prove that the student's learning outcomes by classical can be increased through the lesson study

    Ekstrak Daun Kelor (Moringa Oleivera) sebagai Alternatif untuk Menurunkan Kadar Gula Darah pada Mencit

    Moringa is a plant use as a traditional medicine. The leaves of moringa (moringa oleivera) is part of the plant that could reduce the blood sugar levels. This research aims to determine the extract (infusion) of moringa leaves (moringa oleivera), to reduce the blood sugar level in mice and to determine the most effective concentrations of moringa leaves extract (infusion) to reduce the blood sugar levels in diabetic mice. Bioactifive compounds of moringa leaves was identified by using reagent dragendorff to test alkaloids while reagent chloroform, acetic anhydride and sulfuric acid to test steroids/terpenoids. The study was a clinical trial by using animal testing, 15 mice which was divided to 5 group of treatments: P1 (food + EDTA + glucose, 10% of moringa leaves infusion, Na-CMS), P2 (food + EDTA + glucose, 20% of moringa leaves infusion, Na-CMS), P3 (food + EDTA + glucose, 40% of moringa leaves infusion, Na-CMS), P4 (food + EDTA + glucose, glibenklamid, Na-CMS), and P5 (food + EDTA + glucose, Na-CMS). Blood glucose levels measured with GlukoDr instrument. The measurement data was analyzed by ANOVA test with the 95% confidence level followed by Duncan test to determine the significant different of each treatment to obtained the significant data. The result showed that moringa leaves extract consist of alkaloid and steroid which plays an important role to reduce blood sugar level and the concentration of the moringa leaves extract 20% was effective to the reduce the blood sugar level of diabetic mice
