    Multi-criteria optimization problems are known to give rise to a set of Pareto optimal solutions where one solution cannot be regarded as being superior to another. It is often stated that the selection of a particular solution from this set should be based on additional criteria. In this paper a methodology has been proposed that allows a robust design to be selected from the Pareto optimal set. This methodology has been used to determine a robust geometry for a welded joint. It has been shown that the robust geometry is dependent on the variability of the geometric parameters

The research is a field study (field reseach) qualitative deskriftif, which is research that can provide factual picture of the communications strategy leaders of the Foundation of the Rumah Alquran RABBANI Medan in motivate mothers learn the Alquran in Medan Area Sub-District. Data collection techniques conducted by researchers by means of an interview, observation, and study documentation to support and complement its qualitative data. While the validity of the data to analyze do with some stage: 1. Credibility; 2. Transitions; 3. Reliance; 4. Firmness . Based on the results of research, can be concluded that the communications strategy leaders of the Foundation of the Rumah Alquran RABBANI Medan in motivate mothers learn the Alquran in Medan Area Sub-District, there are some things: 1. Strategy in the determination of the purpose of communication by the leaders of the Foundation of the Rumah Alquran RABBANI Medan in the field of learning the Alquran specifically the mother is on the basis of a meeting of leaders and not in spite of vision and mission foundation that is commonly presenting Qurani Rabbani generation, and the spread of information activities and socialization di sociality; 2. Strategy in the presentation of a message communications conducted by the leaders of the Foundation of the Rumah Alquran RABBANI Medan in the learning the Alquran specifically the mother is based on fundamental principles of the communication of Islam in a situation that is conducive and pleasant; 3.     Effect of Lab. Compaction Effort on Evaluation of Modified HMA Specimens

    The only way to estimate the future performance of any asphalt pavement is reached through the laboratory test which was made for evaluating its expected lifetime. For that purpose the laboratory compaction considered as the main important factor that influence the expected lifetime of any asphalt pavement. In this study we evaluated the effect of compaction effort on the performance properties of asphalt pavement through examining two compaction methods which are the Marshall hammer compactor and the Superpave gyratory compactor (SGC), that conducted the best method which provides the best simulation of what really happen in the field compaction, through making many of laboratory tests involving the volumetric properties and the performance properties for the both methods. Two types of modifiers were used with two percentages which are polypropylene (1% and 2%) by weight of total mix,  and hydrated lime (1% and 2% ) by weight of the total mix as replacer part of the filler content, and then the results were compared for evaluating the most simulating method to the field compaction for control and modified mixes. The results showed that the Superpave gyratory compactor provide the best simulation to the field compaction compering to the Marshall Compaction method, The mixes compacted by using SGC have lower optimum asphalt content than those prepared by Marshall compaction method by about (1% and 2%) for binder and base course respectively. The volumetric and performance properties of mixes prepared by using the SGC were better than those of mixes prepared by Marshall compaction method.     One of the most cherished traditions on our University of Arkansas campus is the etching of names onto Senior Walk each year. On any given day, thousands of students stroll across these beautiful sidewalks as they venture to and from class. Dressed in the latest fashions from iconic brands such as Zara, H&M, and Nike, these students are far removed from the tragedy that has befallen the Uyghur population living in the Xinjiang province, 6,914 miles away. Evidence has been mounting that the Uyghur population has been suffering through massive displacement, forced labor camps, and atrocities that we cannot even fathom – all while producing the fast fashion products we see every day on our campus (Thanhauser, 2021). In a seminar that I took two summers ago while studying abroad, I learned about the Uyghur population, the inhumane treatment of these individuals, and the complicit role that many well-known companies have taken in this exploitation (Daniaud & Alwani, 2022). Numerous crimes against humanity are reported to be taking place in the Xinjiang region against the Uyghurs, but the torment travels internationally as the ethnic group is placed at the forefront of labor fueling the rapid-growing world consumers recognize as the world of fast fashion (Gan, 2020). While many companies have press-released their concern, they continue to use the cotton as well as finished products that are produced in these labor camps (Gan, 2020). A tale that is severely underreported yet extremely relevant. The alleged ethnic cleansing and forced labor of the Uyghur population has crossed my thoughts nearly daily since learning about the ongoing humanitarian crisis back in the summer of 2022. From social media video “hauls”, where people are sharing their mass purchases from the culprits of exploitation, to simple conversations with my fellow peers about their new pair of “sneakers I don’t care to wear out because they were so cheap,”. The lives behind the fabric consume my thoughts whilst being unbeknownst to others. For 675 days, since I first learned of this situation, this issue has stayed with me and has become the focal point for my research project, studying genocide dressed in jeans

    Mobile Devices in EFL Teaching in Saudi Arabia: A Comparison of Student and Faculty Attitudes and Usage

    There is a paucity of studies comparing student and faculty skills and attitudes regarding the use of mobile devices in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction, particularly in the Gulf region. This study investigated the skills and attitudes of students and their instructors regarding the use of mobile devices in English language learning at a university in Saudi Arabia. Ownership patterns for mobile devices were found to be different between students and faculty members, with students owning proportionally more smartphones than faculty members. Significant differences were found between student and faculty members with respect to computer, Internet and mobile device skills. Faculty members rated themselves higher than students for a number of computer and Internet skills, while students rated themselves higher than faculty members for a range of mobile device skills. In general, student and faculty member attitudes towards using mobile devices in English language learning were similar and positive. Both students and faculty members also expressed positive sentiments about their future intentions to use mobile devices for English language learning. Mobile device skill was found not to be a significant determinant in either attitudes towards mobile devices or future intention to use mobile devices in English language learning.     Safety and efficacy of erythroxylum cuneatum / Wesam Radhi Kadhum

    Erythroxylum cuneatum is a member of a tropical plant family which is considered to be a good source of phenolic compounds. The aims of this study were to determine the in vitro cytotoxicity, cytoprotective activity, genotoxicity and antioxidant enzymes specific activities of the standardized aqueous extract of E. cuneatum. In vitro toxicity of E. cuneatum extract in four cultured cell lines was determined. The IC50 values in the various cell lines were all higher than 100 µg/ml, indicating low cytotoxic effects. The cytoprotective activity was determined by treating four cultured cell lines (leukemia cells, colon cancer cells, liver cancer cells and normal liver cells) with hydrogen peroxide H2O2 (28-158 µM) and determining the effects of E. cuneatum (5-50 µg/ml) in the H2O2 treated cells. The results showed that H2O2 was cytotoxic to cells and the addition of E. cuneatum reduced its cytotoxicity. The cytoprotective activity was also determined by treating cultured cell lines (liver cancer cells and normal liver cells) with menadione (2methyl- l A-naphthoquinone) (12-30 µM) and determining the effects of the extract (5-50 µg/ml) in the menadione-treated cells. Results showed that the extract, was not able to rescue cells from the cytotoxicity effects of menadione. Genotoxicity of the extract in HepG2 and WRL68 cell lines were assessed by single cell gel electrophoresis (comet assay), whereby cells were treated with hydrogen peroxide (50 µM) as genotoxic control and different concentrations of E. cuneatum (0.005-1 mg/ml). A low level of DNA damage was seen at the highest concentration of 1 mg/ml while no DNA damage was seen at the other concentrations. E. cuneatum 50 µg/ml when incubated with normal and cancer liver cells significantly increased in catalase specific activity but did not affect cellular GPx and SOD activities. E. cuneatum standardized aqueous extract was found to be non cytotoxic and non genotoxic, showed protection to HepG2 and HCT116 cells from H2O2- induced toxicity but did alter menadione induced cell death. E. cuneatum (50 µg/ml) elevated catalase specific activity in HepG2 and WRL68 cells. More studies are needed if E. cuneatum is to be developed as a cytoprotectant
