Avaliação de genótipos de soja submetidos ao encharcamento.

Levando-se em consideração a grande variedade de cultivares no mercado e também os impactos das mudanças climáticas sobre a produção agrícola, torna-se necessário a seleção dos genótipos de soja adaptados ao alagamento imediato dos solos e também aqueles que melhor se recuperam após este estresse. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o comportamento de genótipos de soja quando submetidos a período de encharcamento do solo. O ensaio foi conduzido na safra 2008/09 na Granja Quatro Irmãos (Município de Rio Grande), no delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições, sendo a parcela composta por quatro linhas com 5 m de comprimento e 0,50 m de espaçamento entre linhas, sendo descartadas as duas linhas externas e 50 cm na extremidade de cada linha. Os genótipos avaliados foram: BRS 255 RR,BMX Apolo RR e FUNDACEP 53 RR (ciclo precoce); BRS 244 RR, BRS 246 RR e BRS Taura RR (ciclo médio);BRS Pampa RR, CD 219 RR e FUNDACEP 59 RR (ciclo tardio). Dentre os genótipos de ciclo precoce o que apresentou a menor perda para rendimentos de grãos quando submetido ao encharcamento foi Fundacep 53 RR, dentre os de ciclo médio foi BRS 246 RR. Na avaliação dos genótipos de ciclo tardio observou-se que na média durante o encharcamento no reprodutivo eles foram mais produtivos que os genótipos de ciclo precoce e médio

Study of Some Planetary Atmospheres Features by Probe Entry and Descent Simulations

Characterization of planetary atmospheres is analyzed by its effects in the entry and descent trajectories of probes. Emphasis is on the most important variables that characterize atmospheres e.g. density profile with altitude. Probe trajectories are numerically determined with ENTRAP, a developing multi-purpose computational tool for entry and descent trajectory simulations capable of taking into account many features and perturbations. Real data from Mars Pathfinder mission is used. The goal is to be able to determine more accurately the atmosphere structure by observing real trajectories and what changes are to expect in probe descent trajectories if atmospheres have different properties than the ones assumed initially

O pensamento social de universitários sobre beleza e cirurgia estética

O estudo objetivou identificar as representações sociais de homens e mulheres com diferentes formações acadêmicas, a respeito de beleza e da cirurgia estética. Pesquisa de natureza descritiva e comparativa, com delineamento transversal, com a participação de 120 universitários; plano de investigação multimétodo desenhado por A.S. de Rosa através de questionário semiestruturado, autoaplicável, dividido em cinco par- tes; envolvendo análise estatística descritiva, relacional e análise textual de redes associativas. Os resultados destacam diferenças significativas nas representações sociais dos grupos em relação aos objetos sociais, beleza e cirurgia estética, em termos de conteúdo, avaliações e dimensões sociopsicológicas. A proximidade dos indivíduos e grupos com o corpo confirma parcialmente as evidências das variáveis influentes em termos de gênero e formação acadêmica dos participantes nas repre- sentações dos objetos pesquisados. The study aimed to identify the social representations of men and women with different academic backgrounds, regarding beauty and aesthetic surgery. This study is a descriptive and comparative research, with cross-sectional design, based on the par- ticipation of 120 university students; Multi-method research plan designed by A.S. de Rosa through a semi-structured, self-administered questionnaire, divided into five parts; involv- ing descriptive and relational statistical analysis, and textual analysis of associative networks. The results highlight significant differences in the social representations of the groups in relation to social objects, beauty and aesthetic surgery, in terms of contents, assessments and socio-psychological dimensions. The proximity of individuals and groups to the body partially confirms the evidence of influential variables in terms of gender and academic training of the participants in the representations of the objects surveyed

Repulsive Casimir Force: Sufficient Conditions

In this paper the Casimir energy of two parallel plates made by materials of different penetration depth and no medium in between is derived. We study the Casimir force density and derive analytical constraints on the two penetration depths which are sufficient conditions to ensure repulsion. Compared to other methods our approach needs no specific model for dielectric or magnetic material properties and constitutes a complementary analysis.Comment: 11 pages. 3 figures.
