Second-order odd-harmonic repetitive control and its application to active filter control
High order repetitive control has been introduced toovercomeperformance decay of repetitive control systems undervarying frequency of the signals to be tracked/rejected orimproving the interhamonic behavior. However, most highorder repetitive internal models used to improve frequencyuncertainty are unstable, as a consequence practicalimplementations are more difficult. In this work a stable, second order odd-harmonic repetitive control system ispresented and studied. The proposed internal model has been implemented andvalidated in a shunt active filter current controller. Thishigh order controller allows dealing with the gridfrequency variations without using adaptive schemes
Effects of Short Range Correlations on Ca Isotopes
The effect of Short Range Correlations (SRC) on Ca isotopes is studied using
a simple phenomenological model. Theoretical expressions for the charge
(proton) form factors, densities and moments of Ca nuclei are derived. The role
of SRC in reproducing the empirical data for the charge density differences is
examined. Their influence on the depletion of the nuclear Fermi surface is
studied and the fractional occupation probabilities of the shell model orbits
of Ca nuclei are calculated. The variation of SRC as function of the mass
number is also discussed.Comment: 11 pages (RevTex), 6 Postscript figures available upon request at

An automatic methodology for estimating eddy diffusivities from experimental data
A technique for estimating eddy diffusivities in a turbulent
atmospheric layer is presented; the scheme adopted is based on an inverse-problem methodology. The inverse problem is formulated as a nonlinear constrained optimization problem, where the objective function is defined through the square
differences between experimental and model data. The direct mathematical model is given by the advection-diffusion equation, which is solved by second-order finite-difference method. In the presence of noise it is necessary to use some
regularization term; the Tikhonov function and an entropic regularization of zeroth, first and second orders are used in this paper. In addition, two inversion strategies are used: alternate and simultaneous eddy diffusivities estimation. Numerical experiments show a good performance of the proposed methodology
Proton-neutron quadrupole interactions: an effective contribution to the pairing field
We point out that the proton-neutron energy contribution, for low multipoles
(in particular for the quadrupole component), effectively renormalizes the
strength of the pairing interaction acting amongst identical nucleons filling
up a single-j or a set of degenerate many-j shells. We carry out the
calculation in lowest-order perturbation theory. We perform a study of this
correction in various mass regions. These results may have implications for the
use of pairing theory in medium-heavy nuclei and for the study of pairing
energy corrections to the liquid drop model when studying nuclear masses.Comment: 19 pages, TeX, 3 tables, 2 figures. Accepted in PR
The Single-Particle Spectral Function of
The influence of short-range correlations on the -wave single-particle
spectral function in is studied as a function of energy. This
influence, which is represented by the admixture of high-momentum components,
is found to be small in the -shell quasihole wave functions. It is therefore
unlikely that studies of quasihole momentum distributions using the
reaction will reveal a significant contribution of high momentum components.
Instead, high-momentum components become increasingly more dominant at higher
excitation energy. The above observations are consistent with the energy
distribution of high-momentum components in nuclear matter.Comment: 5 pages, RevTeX, 3 figure
Tick-borne pathogens infecting dogs from a highland swamp area
Momentum and Energy Distributions of Nucleons in Finite Nuclei due to Short-Range Correlations
The influence of short-range correlations on the momentum and energy
distribution of nucleons in nuclei is evaluated assuming a realistic
meson-exchange potential for the nucleon-nucleon interaction. Using the
Green-function approach the calculations are performed directly for the finite
nucleus O avoiding the local density approximation and its reference to
studies of infinite nuclear matter. The nucleon-nucleon correlations induced by
the short-range and tensor components of the interaction yield an enhancement
of the momentum distribution at high momenta as compared to the Hartree-Fock
description. These high-momentum components should be observed mainly in
nucleon knockout reactions like leaving the final nucleus in a state
of high excitation energy. Our analysis also demonstrates that non-negligible
contributions to the momentum distribution should be found in partial waves
which are unoccupied in the simple shell-model. The treatment of correlations
beyond the Brueckner-Hartree-Fock approximation also yields an improvement for
the calculated ground-state properties.Comment: 12 pages RevTeX, 7 figures postscript files appende
Momentum Distribution in Nuclear Matter and Finite Nuclei
A simple method is presented to evaluate the effects of short-range
correlations on the momentum distribution of nucleons in nuclear matter within
the framework of the Green's function approach. The method provides a very
efficient representation of the single-particle Green's function for a
correlated system. The reliability of this method is established by comparing
its results to those obtained in more elaborate calculations. The sensitivity
of the momentum distribution on the nucleon-nucleon interaction and the nuclear
density is studied. The momentum distributions of nucleons in finite nuclei are
derived from those in nuclear matter using a local-density approximation. These
results are compared to those obtained directly for light nuclei like .Comment: 17 pages REVTeX, 10 figures ps files adde
