CombinePlt and CombineThs user manual: Merging multiple, processor-local plot and time-history data bases produced during a parallel calculation. Revision 1
The CombinePlt and CombineThs post-processing utilities are designed to merge the data in multiple, processor-local plot and time-history data bases produced by the parallel versions of the analysis codes DYNA3D, NIKE3D or PING into a serial database which is compatible with the existing versions of the GRIZ and THUG visualization tools. These utilities make use of the partition assignment file produced by the PartMesh suite for pre-processing utilities to map the data from the processor-local order to global order. These utilities are also capable of translating 64-bit IEEE data bases into 32-bit IEEE data bases which are required for post-processing with GRIZ or THUG on an SGI workstation

Plasma injection and atomic physics models for use in particle simulation codes
Models of plasma injection (creation) and charged/neutral atomic physics which are suitable for incorporation into particle simulation codes are described. Both planar and distributed source injection models are considered. Results obtained from planar injection into a collisionless plasma-sheath region are presented. The atomic physics package simulates the charge exchange and impact ionization interactions which occur between charged particles and neutral atoms in a partially-ionized plasma. These models are applicable to a wide range of problems, from plasma processing of materials to transport in the edge region of a tokamak plasma. 18 refs., 6 figs
Advances in HYDRA and its applications to simulations of inertial confinement fusion targets
A new set of capabilities has been implemented in the HYDRA 2D/3D multiphysics inertial confinement fusion simulation code. These include a Monte Carlo particle transport library. It models transport of neutrons, gamma rays and light ions, as well as products they generate from nuclear and coulomb collisions. It allows accurate simulations of nuclear diagnostic signatures from capsule implosions. We apply it to here in a 3D simulation of a National Ignition Facility (NIF) ignition capsule which models the full capsule solid angle. This simulation contains a severely rough ablator perturbation and provides diagnostics signatures of capsule failure due to excessive instability growth
