Potential algebra approach to position dependent mass Schroedinger equation
It is shown that for a class of position dependent mass Schroedinger equation
the shape invariance condition is equivalent to a potential symmetry algebra.
Explicit realization of such algebras have been obtained for some shape
invariant potentials
Development of an approximate method for quantum optical models and their pseudo-Hermicity
An approximate method is suggested to obtain analytical expressions for the
eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the some quantum optical models. The method
is based on the Lie-type transformation of the Hamiltonians. In a particular
case it is demonstrated that Jahn-Teller Hamiltonian can
easily be solved within the framework of the suggested approximation. The
method presented here is conceptually simple and can easily be extended to the
other quantum optical models. We also show that for a purely imaginary coupling
the Hamiltonian becomes non-Hermitian but -symmetric. Possible generalization of this approach is outlined.Comment: Paper prepared fo the "3rd International Workshop on Pseudo-Hermitian

A quantum exactly solvable non-linear oscillator related with the isotonic oscillator
A nonpolynomial one-dimensional quantum potential representing an oscillator,
that can be considered as placed in the middle between the harmonic oscillator
and the isotonic oscillator (harmonic oscillator with a centripetal barrier),
is studied. First the general case, that depends of a parameter , is
considered and then a particular case is studied with great detail. It is
proven that it is Schr\"odinger solvable and then the wave functions
and the energies of the bound states are explicitly obtained. Finally it
is proven that the solutions determine a family of orthogonal polynomials
related with the Hermite polynomials and such that: (i) Every
is a linear combination of three Hermite polynomials, and (ii)
They are orthogonal with respect to a new measure obtained by modifying the

Coherent state of a nonlinear oscillator and its revival dynamics
The coherent state of a nonlinear oscillator having a nonlinear spectrum is
constructed using Gazeau Klauder formalism. The weighting distribution and the
Mandel parameter are studied. Details of the revival structure arising from
different time scales underlying the quadratic energy spectrum are investigated
by the phase analysis of the autocorrelation function
A generalized quantum nonlinear oscillator
We examine various generalizations, e.g. exactly solvable, quasi-exactly
solvable and non-Hermitian variants, of a quantum nonlinear oscillator. For all
these cases, the same mass function has been used and it has also been shown
that the new exactly solvable potentials possess shape invariance symmetry. The
solutions are obtained in terms of classical orthogonal polynomials
Populism and Facebook: 14 countries, 117 parties and the 2014 European Parliamentary election
Social media are claimed to boost the development of populism and the use of populist rhetoric and communication styles by political parties. The technological affordances seem to be a perfect place to communicate using a more informal style, employing emotional arguments that are not always suitable for more traditional campaigning. In this research project we concentrate on posts (3500, random sample) by political parties on their Facebook profiles during 2014 EP election campaign. By applying the coding schema on different standard post features (e.g. topic, target, emotions) as well as populism codes (e.g. xenophobic language, uncivil behavior, attacking elites, popular representation, symbols) we demonstrate to what extent parties employed populist communication styles. We further cross reference our data with the data from the Chapel Hill expert study, European Social Survey to understand to what extent the ideological party positioning is correlated with the communication strategy employed by party
The Localization of -Wave and Quantum Effective Potential of a Quasi-Free Particle with Position-Dependent Mass
The properties of the s-wave for a quasi-free particle with
position-dependent mass(PDM) have been discussed in details. Differed from the
system with constant mass in which the localization of the s-wave for the free
quantum particle around the origin only occurs in two dimensions, the
quasi-free particle with PDM can experience attractive forces in dimensions
except D=1 when its mass function satisfies some conditions. The effective mass
of a particle varying with its position can induce effective interaction which
may be attractive in some cases. The analytical expressions of the
eigenfunctions and the corresponding probability densities for the s-waves of
the two- and three-dimensional systems with a special PDM are given, and the
existences of localization around the origin for these systems are shown.Comment: 12pages, 8 figure
What factors influence training opportunities for older workers? Three factorial surveys exploring the attitudes of HR professionals
The core research questions addressed in this paper are: what factors influence HR professionals in deciding whether to approve training proposals for older workers? What kind of training are they more likely to recommend for older employees and in which organizational contexts? We administered three factorial surveys to 66 HR professionals in Italy. Participants made specific training decisions based on profiles of hypothetical older workers. Multilevel analyses indicated that access to training decreases strongly with age, while highly-skilled older employees with low absenteeism rates are more likely to enjoy training opportunities. In addition, older workers displaying positive performance are more likely to receive training than older workers who perform poorly, suggesting that training late in working life may serve as a reward for good performance rather than as a means of enhancing productivity. The older the HR professional evaluating training proposals, the higher the probability that older workers will be recommended for training.

Global identification helps increase identity integration among Turkish gay men
Globalisation provides novel contexts for individuals to express and transform their identities in ways that may not be available in their local cultures. For gay men living in cultures where traditional masculinity norms prescribe heterosexuality and the rejection of homosexuality, gay-male identity is inherently threatened. However, adopting an identity as a ‘global citizen’ may increase the compatibility between gay and male identities, and hence augment well-being. We conducted an experiment with a community sample of 220 gay men in Turkey, manipulating pro- and anti-globalisation world views. Priming with pro-globalisation world views increased people’s identification as global citizens, and thus indirectly led to higher gay-male identity integration. Identity integration, in turn, predicted higher subjective well-being. This study brings the first experimental evidence on the link between global identification and gay-male identity integration. Beyond its local focus on the cultural context of Turkey, it highlights the importance of an intersectional approach to studying social identities by showing how the compatibility of two social identities can be increased by adopting a third social identity
Poland's 2011 Online Election Campaign: New Tools, New Professionalism, New Ways to Win Votes
This article analyzes the use of the online environment within the context of the Polish parliamentary election of 2011. Using traditional methods of content analysis, we find that parties tend to adhere to a professionalized model of campaigning, and adapting online tools to suit the objectives of the campaign. There also appears to be a recognition that their most likely visitors to these online presences would be converts, and so they attempt to mobilize supporters rather than convert browsers. New parties and candidates are more likely to target browsers, with the latter offering a more personalized experience to online visitors. Importantly, when analyzing the outcome of the contest, we find that being online matters for candidates when controlling for all other variables. Equally, the reach the candidate has, which may well influence their vote share, is dependent on offering a more personalized, representational image and having a frequently updated online presence that should encourage repeat visits. Cumulatively, we suggest the future of online campaigning must not only focus on having a presence, but on using it in a way that appeals to a range of visitors, encouraging repeat visits, and that this strategy could have a positive impact on election outcomes. © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC
