Regeneration of cellulose acetate nanofibrous mat from discarded cigarette butts
Cellulose acetate present in the cigarette butts has beenregenerated into nanofibrous mat. The developed mat is thencharacterized using various analytical tools. Uniform bead-freecellulose acetate fibre is obtained at 12 % w/v concentration ofcellulose acetate. The mat thus obtained exhibits goodantimicrobial property
Effect of ultrasonication and enzyme activity on dye uptake of cationised cotton fabric
To eliminate the usage of salt, salt-free reactive dyeing using CHPTAC (3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethylammonium chloride) has been proposed. Studies have shown promising results, such as better dye shade attainment and less effluent load compared to conventional methods. In this work, to improve the effective utilisation of CHPTAC, the cotton fabric has been treated with cellulase enzyme and the application of CHPTAC is carried out using the ultrasonication technique. The samples are then characterised for colour parameters and it is found that the enzymatic treatment and ultrasonication lead to improve the dye uptake, as the interaction of CHPTAC with the fabric becomes better.
Tramadol hydrochloride–benzoic acid (1/1)
In the cation of the title co-crystal salt {systematic name: [2-hydroxy-2-(3-methoxyphenyl)cyclohexylmethyl]dimethylazanium chloride–benzoic acid (1/1)}, C16H31NO2
+·Cl−·C7H6O2, the N atom is protonated and the six-membered cyclohexane ring adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the benzene rings in the cation and the benzoic acid molecule is 75.5 (9)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak intermolecular O—H⋯Cl, N—H⋯Cl and C—H⋯π interactions, forming a two-dimensional chain network along the b axis. The benzoic acid molecule is not involved in the usual head-to-tail dimer bonding, but instead is linked to the ammonium cation through mutual hydrogen-bonding interactions with the chloride anion
BACTERIAL DISEASES OF LIVESTOCK ANIMALS AND THEIR IMPACT ON HUMAN HEALTH
Recently, whole world is facing the problem of infectious diseases related to animal diseases that pose significant threats to human health. In other words, humans may acquire zoonotic infections through various routes i.e. food, water etc. The transmission of certain bacterial diseases (through food and water) is one of the important cause of illness in both developing and developed countries. Most of the infectious pathogens that are normally reside in the intestinal tract of healthy animals and may transmit the disease through products (meat, milk or eggs) and faecal contamination of the environment. Normally, minute amount of intestinal contents are released and contaminate milk during milking; carcass at slaughter and egg during laying. Generally, risk associated with this type of contamination is somehow minimised where proper food hygiene is normally applied throughout the entire food chain from production, through processing to preparation at home. In this view, we provide some information about bacterial diseases of livestock animals and their effect or impact on human health.Â
1,1′-Bis(4-fluorophenyl)-3,3′-diisobutyl-4,4′-diphenoxy-1H,1′H-4,4′-bipyrazole-5,5′(4H,4′H)-dione
In the title compound, C38H36F2N4O4, the pyrazole rings form dihedral angles of 50.02 (4) and 18.05 (4)° with their attached fluorobenzene rings, and make dihedral angles of 76.08 (4) and 73.54 (5)° with the aromatic ring of the attached phenoxy group. In the crystal, the molecules are connected by weak C—H⋯π interactions
Preparation and characterisation of amino acids based trimethoprim salts
Trimethoprim (TMP) is a dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) inhibitor which prevents the conversion of dihydrofolic acid into tetrahydrofolic acid, resulting in the depletion of the latter and leading to bacterial death. Oral bioavailability of TMP is hindered by both its low solubility and low permeability. This study aims to prepare novel salts of TMP using anionic amino acids; aspartic and glutamic acid as counter ions in order to improve solubility and dissolution. TMP salts were prepared by lyophilisation and characterized using FT-IR spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Both the amino acids formed salts with TMP in a 1:1 molar ratio and showed a 280 fold improvement in solubility. Investigation of the microbiological activity of the prepared salts against TMP sensitive Escherichia coli showed that the new salts not only retained antibacterial activity but also exhibited higher zone of inhibition which was attributed to improved physicochemical characters such as higher solubility and dissolution. The results are an important finding that could potentially impact on faster onset of antibacterial activity and reduced therapeutic dose when administered to patients. Studies are underway investigating the effect of ion-pairing TMP with amino acids on the permeability profile of the drug
Multi Agent System for Machine Learning Under Uncertainty in Cyber Physical Manufacturing System
Recent advancement in predictive machine learning has led to its application in various use cases in manufacturing. Most research focused on maximising predictive accuracy without addressing the uncertainty associated with it. While accuracy is important, focusing primarily on it poses an overfitting danger, exposing manufacturers to risk, ultimately hindering the adoption of these techniques. In this paper, we determine the sources of uncertainty in machine learning and establish the success criteria of a machine learning system to function well under uncertainty in a cyber-physical manufacturing system (CPMS) scenario. Then, we propose a multi-agent system architecture which leverages probabilistic machine learning as a means of achieving such criteria. We propose possible scenarios for which our architecture is useful and discuss future work. Experimentally, we implement Bayesian Neural Networks for multi-tasks classification on a public dataset for the real-time condition monitoring of a hydraulic system and demonstrate the usefulness of the system by evaluating the probability of a prediction being accurate given its uncertainty. We deploy these models using our proposed agent-based framework and integrate web visualisation to demonstrate its real-time feasibility

In the title molecular salt [systematic name: 3-(5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-ylidene)-N,N-dimethyl-1-propanaminium 2-hydroxybenzoate], C20H22N+·C7H5O3
−, the benzene rings of the cyclobenzaprinium cation are inclined with a dihedral angle of 61.66 (7)°. An intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs within the salicylate anion, generating an S(6) ring. In the crystal, the cation and anion are linked by an N—H⋯O interaction
