The Complex Computer System Based on Cellular Automata Method Designed to Support Modelling of Laminar Cooling Processes

    No full text
The user friendly computer system that have the capability of modelling material behaviour both at the macro and micro scales was developed in this work. The system was designed to predict microstructure evolution during phase transformation in laminar cooling conditions with the use of the multi scale cellular automata finite element (CAFE) model. The finite element (FE) part is based on the conventional Fourier type equation and is used to predict macroscopic temperature distribution. This is an input for the micro scale cellular automata (CA) model of austenite-ferrite phase transformation. To facilitate the research, proposed micro scale CA model was implemented within developed universal object-oriented programming framework CAF. Description of major assumptions and functionality of the developed numerical system including efficient Graphical User Interface (GUI) is presented in the paper. The intuitive visualization of data obtained in different length scales facilitates work with the software

Aim of study. The aim of this study is to evaluate the size and the types of leisure-time activities with special regard to health-oriented behaviors among blue-collar and white-collar workers of the snacks company “Lajkonik” in Skawin. Research material and methods. Questionnaire survey using original survey questionnaire was conducted among 60 people: 30 blue-collar and 30 white-collar workers of both sexes. The age of the respondents ranged between 18 and 65 years. The survey questions concerned: amount of leisure time, preferred types of health-oriented leisure activities, people (friends, family) who join respondents in leisure activities, most frequent leisure places and activities performed by respondents during leisure time. Chi-squared test was used to compare employees’ preferences and leisure time habits.Findings. The survey showed that leisure time is seen as desired by employees –a decided majority of respondents felt the want of leisure time. It was observed that there was a difference between leisure time activities preferred by blue-collar workers and white-collar workers –white-collar workers preferred physical activities. Conclusions. In comparison with blue-collar workers, white-collar workers more frequently chose active leisure pursuits, in particular qualified tourism and physical recreation whereas blue-collar workers participated in parties and social gatherings more

Application of computer systems in industry becomes more and more frequent, in particular in those companies which are exposed to fast changes in the market due to the changing needs of products consumers. In the metals processing industry, these changes concern mainly the properties of semiproducts and products. Usually series of costly experimental trials are performed to meet these requirements. Therefore, there is a need for computer systems, which will aid design of the technology and allow decreasing the number of experimental trials. Details of the expert system applied to the analysis and optimization of the hot strip rolling technology in the semi-industrial rolling line (LPS) are described in the paper. Constructional multi-phase (CP) steel was selected for the analysis. Material models, developed for the investigated steel on the basis of experimental tests carried out at the Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy, were implemented in the system. Results of performed numerical simulations using the system are presented. W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki symulacji numerycznych wykonanych z wykorzystaniem zaproponowanego systemu
