    Investigations into the electronic and magnetic properties of (CrPS4)n layers

    2D magnetic semiconductors have become of interest due to their magneto-optical effects in lower dimensionality. More specifically, CrPS4 has gained renewed attention due to its A-type AFM order and air stability prompting analysis and stability studies in its layered forms for use in scalable technology such as spintronic and optoelectronic devices. In this study, we benchmark our approach using the SCAN meta-GGA functional used without U-parameterization on bulk CrPS4 to demonstrate the accuracy of our methodology to use as tools to go beyond current CrPS4 theoretical studies. We examine the 2D electronic nature and optical spectrum for use in experimental analysis. We demonstrate the growth and characterization process of bulk CrPS4 through means of chemical vapor transport and scanning electron microscopy, exhibiting the efficiency of this material for applied cases. We then theoretically model the electronic systems of MnPS4 and FePS4 by doping CrPS4 with Mn and Fe separately to report the changes in state and band gap due to the added valence electrons an effort to add to the transition-metal thiophosphate family as 2D magnetic materials

    This is a theological analysis directed towards elucidating the notion of the Church and ministerial priesthood in Sheen’s writings. His view of the Church’s nature as the prism of the diffusion of Divine Life serves as the theological basis for understanding his notion of the evangelizing mission of the Church. In line with Sheen’s ecclesiology, his theology of ministerial priesthood is elaborated within the theological framework of the so-called Divine Equation. In the analysis of Sheen’s theological ideas in reference to Vatican Council II, certain similarities and differences come to light, between his notion of the Church and priesthood, and some key conciliar teachings.Este es un análisis teológico dirigido a dilucidar la noción de la Iglesia y el sacerdocio ministerial en el pensamiento de Sheen. Su visión de la Iglesia como prisma de la difusión de la Vida Divina es el fundamento clave para comprender su noción de la misión evangelizadora de la Iglesia. De acuerdo con su eclesiología, se elabora su teología del sacerdocio ministerial en el marco teológico de la llamada Ecuación Divina. En el análisis de su noción de la Iglesia y del sacerdocio en referencia al Concilio Vaticano II, sus ideas teológicas muestran ciertas similitudes y diferencias en comparación con algunas de las enseñanzas conciliares

    Elephant-grass is a tropical forage grass used either as a supplement fodder or for direct grazing. It usually shows regular nutritive value (6-13% crude protein, CP, and 55-60% forage digestibility) (Alcantara et al., 1981). Most of the available cultivars produce no viable seeds. On the other hand, pearl millet has high seed yielding potential along with high quality forage (\u3e15% CP and 70% forage digestibility). However, it shows poor forage production, low field persistence under grazing and low regrowth potential after cutting or grazing. During the 90\u27s, an interspecific hybrid between the two species was developed, trying to combine the elephant-grass adaaptability and forage yielding potential with the pearl millet forage quality and seed yielding potential (Schank et al., 1993; Schank, 1996). The new genetic material was able to produce viable seeds in variable amounts (Diz et al., 1995).     The influence of ecological traits to the distribution and abundance of species is a prevalent issue in biodiversity science. Most studies of plant community assembly have focused on traits related to abiotic aspects or direct interactions among plants, with less attention paid to ignore indirect interactions, as those mediated by pollinators. Here, we assessed the influence of phylogeny, habitat, and floral morphology on ecological community structure in a clade of Neotropical lianas (tribe Bignonieae, Bignoniaceae). Our investigation was guided by the long-standing hypothesis that habitat specialization has promoted speciation in Bignonieae, while competition for shared pollinators influences species co-occurrence within communities. We analyzed a geo-referenced database for 94 local communities occurring across the Neotropics. The effect of floral morphological traits and abiotic variables on species co-occurrence was investigated, taking into account phylogenetic relationships. Habitat filtering seems to be the main process driving community assembly in Bignonieae, with environmental conditions limiting species distributions. Differing specialization to abiotic conditions might have evolved recently, in contrast to the general pattern of phylogenetic clustering found in communities of other diverse regions.     Parameter free treatment of a layered correlated van der Waals magnet: CrPS4_{4}

    The electronic and magnetic structure of CrPS4_{4}, a 2D magnetic semiconductor is examined by employing the SCAN meta-GGA density functional. We find the resulting magnetic moment and band gap are in excellent agreement with experiment. From the bulk magnetic configurations, we confirm the experimentally observed A-type antiferromagnetic (A-AFM) ordered ground state with a magnetic moment of 2.78 μB\mu_B per chromium atom and band gap of 1.34 eV. To gain insight into the evolution of the ground state with layers, the total energy of each magnetic configuration is calculated for a variety of thicknesses. Monolayer CrPS4_{4} is predicted to be a ferromagnetic insulator with a band gap of 1.37 eV, and A-AFM for bilayer and trilayer, with band gaps of 1.35 eV and 1.30 eV, respectively. The electronic structure is reported for the single, two, three layer and bulk CrPS4_{4}. Finally, we explore the optical properties of the 2D structure and report the dielectric tensor components and Kerr parameters for the monolayer.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure

    Master Operators Govern Multifractality in Percolation

    Using renormalization group methods we study multifractality in percolation at the instance of noisy random resistor networks. We introduce the concept of master operators. The multifractal moments of the current distribution (which are proportional to the noise cumulants CR(l)(x,x)C_R^{(l)} (x, x^\prime) of the resistance between two sites x and xx^\prime located on the same cluster) are related to such master operators. The scaling behavior of the multifractal moments is governed exclusively by the master operators, even though a myriad of servant operators is involved in the renormalization procedure. We calculate the family of multifractal exponents ψl{\psi_l} for the scaling behavior of the noise cumulants, CR(l)(x,x)xxψl/νC_R^{(l)} (x, x^\prime) \sim | x - x^\prime |^{\psi_l /\nu}, where ν\nu is the correlation length exponent for percolation, to two-loop order.Comment: 6 page
