Dynamical Casimir-Polder force between an excited atom and a conducting wall
We consider the dynamical atom-surface Casimir-Polder force in the nonequilibrium configuration of an atom near a perfectly conducting wall, initially prepared in an excited state with the field in its vacuum state. We evaluate the time-dependent Casimir-Polder force on the atom and find that it shows an oscillatory behavior from attractive to repulsive both in time and in space. We also investigate the asymptotic behavior in time of the dynamical force and of related local field quantities, showing that the static value of the force, as obtained by a time-independent approach, is recovered for times much longer than the time scale of the atomic self-dressing but shorter than the atomic decay time. We then discuss the evolution of global quantities such as atomic and field energies and their asymptotic behavior. We also compare our results for the dynamical force on the excited atom with analogous results recently obtained for an initially bare ground-state atom. We show that new relevant features are obtained in the case of an initially excited atom, for example, much larger values of the dynamical force with respect to the static one, allowing for an easier way to single out and observe the dynamical Casimir-Polder effect

Radio Venus FM Makassar sebagai lembaga penyiaran public denganmenggunakan frekuensi 97.6 yang di pancarkan melalui modulasi frekuensi (FM) merupakan media komunikasi massa yang mempunyai peranan penting dalam kehidupan sosial, budaya, politik dan ekonomi. Penyiaran Radio adalah media komunikasi massa dengar, yang menyalurkan gagasan dan informasi dalam bentuk suara secara umum dan terbuka, berupa program yang teratur dan berkesinambungan. Adapun permasalahan pada penelitian ini adalah manajemen sistem informasi yang digunakan sebelumnya belum ditunjang dengan database siaran dan pengaturan durasi iklan yang tidak sesuai dengan yang diharapkan, sehingga siaran yang sedang berlangsung belum sepenuhnya terkontrol dengan baik. Metode perancangan yang digunakan adalah metode DFD ( Data Flow Diagram). DFD (Data Flow Diagram) adalah alat pembuatan model yang memungkinkan profesional sistem untuk menggambarkan sistem sebagai suatu jaringan proses fungsional yang dihubungkan satu sama lain dengan alur data, baik secara manual maupun komputerisasi. Dengan adanya sistem ini maka manajemen sistem informasi pada radio venus fm dapat ditunjang dengan database siaran dan pengaturan acara serta durasi iklan terkontrol sesuai dengan yang diharapkan
Endocervical glandular neoplasia associated with lobular endocervical glandular hyperplasia is HPV-independent and correlates with carbonic anhydrase-IX expression: a Gynaecological Oncology Group Study.
BackgroundLobular endocervical glandular hyperplasia (LEGH) is a rare lesion of the uterine cervix. It has been proposed that LEGH may represent a precursor lesion to a group of mucinous adenocarcinoma with gastric phenotype (GA) that is independent of high-risk human papillomavirus (H-HPV) infection. Carbonic anhydrase-IX (CA-IX) is highly expressed in conventional glandular lesions (CGLs). However, expression of CA-IX in LEGH or GA has not been studied.MethodsIn all, 12 CGLs, 7 LEGHs, 6 LEGHs with coexisting adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS, 3) and GA (3) were identified from Japanese women with a cytological diagnosis of atypical glandular cells of undetermined significance. Immunostaining was used to detect CA-IX and p16(INK)4(a) (hereafter termed p16) protein expression in the tissues and CA-IX protein expression in the Papanicolaou smears (PSs). Polymerase chain reaction was used to detect H-HPV DNA in liquid-based cytology.ResultsOut of 12 (83%) CGLs, 10 were positive with H-HPV and high levels of CA-IX expression were seen in all (100%) cases. P16 protein expression was observed in 11 out of 12 (92%) cases. None of the LEGHs, LEGHs with AIS or GA were positive for H-HPV and only 8 out of 13 (62%) showed focal weak (1+) p16 expression. In contrast, all cases (100%) exhibited strong CA-IX protein expression.ConclusionOur study suggests that there are different molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis resulting in CGLs vs LEGHs associated with AIS or GA. There is also a possible link between LEGHs and GAs. Furthermore, CA-IX expression may serve as a useful biomarker for the detection of GAs in the absence of H-HPV infection
Logarithmic interaction under periodic boundary conditions: Closed form formulas for energy and forces
A method is given to obtain closed form formulas for the energy and forces
for an aggregate of charges interacting via a logarithmic interaction under
periodic boundary conditions. The work done here is a generalization of
Glasser's results [M. L. Glasser, J. Math. Phys. 15, 188 (1974)] and is
obtained with a different and simpler method than that by Stremler [M. A.
Stremler, J. Math. Phys. 45, 3584 (2004)]. The simplicity of the formulas
derived here makes them extremely convenient in a computer simulation
Foraging Behavior of Tetramorium Caespitum in an Urban Environment: the Effect of Food Quality on Foraging
Animals\u27 foraging strategies are directly related to their fitness. Proposed models of optimal foraging assume that animals strategize in terms of maximizing benefits over the cost of acquiring resources. Ants are social insects that are comparable in biomass to humans inhabiting the plant. As such, it is crucial to understand the foraging strategies of such an influential member of the ecosystem. With the ever-increasing rate of urbanization and human encroachment, it is even more important to consider the foraging patterns of species inhabiting urban areas. In this study we investigate optimal foraging strategies in the pavement ant, Tetramorium caespitum. Specifically, our study examined if pavement ant colonies would alter their foraging behavior so as to maximize benefits and minimize costs. To do this, we exposed the ants to food of two varying nutritional qualities to test how they allocated foragers across these two resources.Food quantity, distance to the food source and terrain were the same in both types of resources. Across a two day period, we saw that T. caespitum colonies increased ant recruitment when food quality increased and decreased ant recruitment when food quality decreased. Our control treatments where food quality did not change also did not see a change in ant recruitment. This study shows that species that live in urban areas, such as T. caespitum, can adapt to forage optimally. Studies like this can be used to make predictions about survival of species that are newly associated with urban environments

Penelitian Perancangan Sistem Informasi Pemesanan Makanan Pada Berkah Catering Padang Panjang dengan Bahasa Pemograman Visual Basic 6.0 dan Mysql, dilakukan mulai tanggal 20 April s/d 20 Mei 2014. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menyediakan suatu program Informasi yang dapat mempercepat proses kerja pada Berkah Catering Padang Panjang. Untuk merealisasikan program ini di gunakan Bahasa Pemograman Visual Basic 6.0. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan adanya program aplikasi ini akan sangat membantu dalam sistem informasi Berkah Catering Padang Panjang yang lebih baik untuk masa yang akan datang
Isospin dependence of 6He+p optical potential and the symmetry energy
A consistent folding analysis of the elastic p(6He,6He)p scattering and
charge exchange p(6He,6Li*)n reaction data measured at Elab=41.6A MeV has been
performed within the coupled channels formalism. We have used the isovector
coupling to link the isospin dependence of 6He+p optical potential to the cross
section of p(6He,6Li*)n reaction exciting the 0+ isobaric analog state (IAS) at
3.563 MeV in 6Li. Based on these results and the Hartree-Fock calculation of
asymmetric nuclear matter using the same isospin-dependent effective
nucleon-nucleon interaction, we were able to confirm that the most realistic
value of the symmetry energy Esym is around 31 MeV. Our analysis has also shown
that the measured charge exchange p(6He,6Li*)n data are quite sensitive to the
halo tail of the 6He density used in the folding calculation and the IAS of 6Li
is likely to have a halo structure similar to that established for the ground

Higgs Physics at the Large Hadron Collider
In this talk I will begin by summarising the importance of the Higgs physics
studies at the LHC. I will then give a short description of the pre-LHC
constraints on the Higgs mass and the theoretical predictions for the LHC along
with a discussion of the current experimental results, ending with prospects in
the near future at the LHC. In addition to the material covered in the
presented talk, I have included in the writeup, a critical appraisal of the
theoretical uncertainties in the Higgs cross-sections at the Tevatron as well
as a discussion of the recent experimental results from the LHC which have
