    Software Reliability Using SPRT: Burr Type III Process Model

    Increased dependence on software systems elicited the assessment of their reliability, a crucial task in software development. Effective tools and mechanisms are required to facilitate the assessment of software reliability. Classical approaches like hypothesis testing are significantly time consuming as the conclusion can only be drawn after collecting huge amounts of data. Statistical method such as Sequential Analysis can be applied to arrive at a decision quickly. This paper implemented Sequential Probability Ratio Test (SPRT) for Burr Type III model based on time domain data. For this, parameters were estimated using Maximum Likelihood Estimation to apply SPRT on five real time software failure datasets borrowed from different software projects. The results exemplify that the adopted model has given a rejection decision for the used datasets

    Distribution of chlorophyll 'a' and 'b' in the eastern Arabian Sea (west coast of India) in relation to nutrients during post monsoon

    The distribution of chlorophyll 'a' and 'b' in the Arabian Sea along the west coast of India from Cape Comorin to Veraval in the 40-200rn depth contour, in a single cruise of FORV Sagar Sampada (Cruise no. 177) was studied, covering 58 stations duringng the post monsoon period October-November, 1999. Data on nitrates and phosphates were also collected along with chlorophylls. The results indicated that the coastal waters along the south west coast of Inaia are more productive than the waters along the north west coast during the post monsoon period. Earlier observations on chlorophylls and nutrients from eastern Arabian Sea are briefly discussed

    PC Controlled Rain Simulation

    Rainfall simulators have a long history of successful use in both laboratory and field investigations. A challenge faced today is to have practical method of assessing the impact of various natural phenomena on day to day life. With the climatic change taking place globally, there is necessity to simulate rain to assess and estimate its impact on our lives. It is developed with an objective to simulate rainfall which is computer controlled hardware implemented simulation for scaled model food godown. In this paper, we describe simulation of rain practically on a scaled model. The simulator is controlled by PC which can be programmed as per the requirement of user and can be modified and adopted easily. The process of PWM is achieved using a PC which has custom developed program interfaced to drive a water delivery system through PLC and MOSFET drive. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15064

    Correlators and fractional statistics in the quantum Hall bulk

    We derive single-particle and two-particle correlators of anyons in the presence of a magnetic field in the lowest Landau level. We show that the two-particle correlator exhibits signatures of fractional statistics which can distinguish anyons from their fermionic and bosonic counterparts. These signatures include the zeroes of the two-particle correlator and its exclusion behavior. We find that the single-particle correlator in finite geometries carries valuable information relevant to experiments in which quasiparticles on the edge of a quantum Hall system tunnel through its bulk.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, RevTe

    A study was conducted at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Hesaraghatta, Bengaluru for three consecutive seasons during 2019-20, to standardize the container type, substrate combination and nutrition for potted plant production of China aster var. Arka Archana. The treatments comprised of two type of containers (plastic and coir), three substrates {Red soil + FYM + Sand (1:1:1 v/v), Arka Fermented cocopeat (AFC), AFC + Vermicompost (1:1 v/v)} and four nutrition concentration (160:30:180 ppm N:P: K, 128:24:144 ppm N:P: K, 96:18:108 ppm N:P: K and Jeevamrutha @ 3%) laid out in factorial completely randomized design with three replications. Plant height at flowering (33.12 cm), number of primary branches (12.4), plant spread (536.64 cm2), number of flowers/plant (26.47), flower size (5.26 cm) and uptake of major, secondary and minor nutrients were maximum in the plants grown in 6" plastic pots using the substrate combination of soil +sand +FYM (1:1:1 v/v/v) along with the weekly application of nutrient solution of 96:18:108 ppm NPK/plant. This production protocol resulted in a dense canopy and highly floriferous potted plants. The benefit cost ratio of potted China aster production was 1.70. This technology can be adopted by the nurserymen for large-scale commercial potted plant production

    Short Communication: Changes in ocular perfusion pressure in response to short term isometric exercise in young adults

    Summary: Ocular Perfusion Pressure (OPP) is the pressure difference between the Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) and the Intra Ocular Pressure (IOP). Decreased OPP could be a major risk factor for glaucoma. The aim is to study the effect of Isometric exercise on OPP in apparently healthy young adults. Forty apparently healthy young adult volunteers comprising 20 males and 20 females in the age group of 18-21 years were selected among MBBS Phase I students of JSS Medical college, JSSU, Mysore. IOP and BP were recorded. Mean arterial pressure (MAP) and OPP were calculated. There was a statistically significant difference (p<0.05) in the mean OPP before and after performing Isometric exercise and between males (50.58±0.72 to 56.85±1.15 mm Hg) and females (49.35 ± 1.66 to 56.71 ± 1.61 mm Hg). Physical activity in the form of Isometric exercise improves ocular blood flow - OPP. Hence regular exercise of prescribed intensity may prove useful for glaucomatous patients which enhance their OPP.Keywords: Ocular perfusion pressure, Isometric exercise, Glaucom

    EGFR is a key player in the signalling cascades of various kinds of cancers and tyrosine kinase inhibitors block EGFR signalling. Natural products have long been used as candidates for therapy in the management of cancer. Violacein, a bacterial pigment, has been known for its numerous biological applications such as antimicrobial, antileishmanial, antiviral, as well as antitumoral. Computational studies have concluded that it may have activity against cancers like pancreatic cancer, thyroid cancer, colorectal cancer, and endometrial cancer indicating its potential application as a broad range of anti-cancerous drug. This study aimed to perform the molecular docking of violacein with the EGFR protein to ascertain its EGFR inhibitor property, which could lead to the development of a novel anti-cancer drug
