    Evaluasi Komunitas Terumbu Karang di Perairan Cagar Alam Laut Krakatau

    Cagar Alam Laut Krakatau berada di daerah vulkanik Gunung Anak Krakatu. Aktivitas seismik yang diakibatkan oleh magma chamber Anak Krakatau menyebabkan goncangan pada dasar laut yang memungkinkan bergesernya substrat yang menjadi tempat terumbu karang tumbuh, Selain itu debu vulkanik akan mempengaruhi kalsifikasi dan pertumbuhan karang sehingga karang yang terbentuk akan rapuh dan rentan terhadap pengaruh lingkungan, seperti arus dan goncangan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi terkini komunitas serta keanekaragaman terumbu karang di Cagar Alam Laut Krakatau. Penelitian dilakukan dari bulan Juli sampai Oktober 2012. Perairan yang menjadi stasiun penelitian adalah perairan Pulau Rakata. Metode manta tow digunakan pada saat survei pendahuluan dan metode Line Intercept Transect (LIT) digunakan dalam pengambilan data terumbu karang. Stasiun penelitian yang berda di perairan Pulau Rakata dibagi menjadi empat titik pengambilan sampel. pada kedalaman 5 meter dengan panjang transek 50 meter searah garis pantai. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa dari 27 spesies dalam 7 famili terumbu karang yang ditemukan pada stasiun penelitian kondisinya bervariasi dari baik sekali hingga rusak dengan tingkat tutupan berkisar antara 90,88%, 56,54%,dan 38,32 %

    The theory of Makkiyyah and Madaniyyah, which is formed as the implication of the historical background of the Qur\u27an, which went through phases of Mecca and Medina, is primarily known in the Qur\u27anic studies. Given that the hadith is also a primary source of Islam after the Qur\u27an, and is also framed in the same history as the Qur\u27an, this paper attempts to develop a theory of Makkiyyah and Madaniyyah in hadith. It argues that such theory in the Qur\u27an can be adopted into the study of hadith

    Dietary tuna hydrolysate modulates growth performance, immune response, intestinal morphology and resistance to Streptococcus iniae in juvenile barramundi, Lates calcarifer

    This study investigated the effects of tuna hydrolysate (TH) inclusion in fishmeal (FM) based diets on the growth performance, innate immune response, intestinal health and resistance to Streptococcus iniae infection in juvenile barramundi, Lates calcarifer. Five isonitrogenous and isoenergetic experimental diets were prepared with TH, replacing FM at levels of 0% (control) 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%, and fed fish to apparent satiation three times daily for 8 weeks. The results showed that fish fed diets containing 5% and 10% TH had significantly higher final body weight and specific growth rate than the control. A significant reduction in blood glucose was found in fish fed 10%, 15% and 20% TH compared to those in the control whereas none of the other measured blood and serum indices were influenced by TH inclusion. Histological observation revealed a significant enhancement in goblet cell numbers in distal intestine of fish fed 5 to 10% TH in the diet. Moreover, fish fed 10% TH exhibited the highest resistance against Streptococcus iniae infection during a bacterial challenge trial. These findings therefore demonstrate that the replacement of 5 to 10% FM with TH improves growth, immune response, intestinal health and disease resistance in juvenile barramundi
