This research study the compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) of OPC and OPC rice husk ash (RHA) concrete. Test will be measured after 28 days immersed in peat water. Specimens will be immersed in peat water after 28 days cured in normal water. Compressive strength of OPC concrete showed biggest value than OPC with admixture RHA 5% and 10% which is increasing amount of RHA for subsitute cement will decreasing compressive strength. Test UPV of the specimen showed OPC RHA 5% being best quality than other

TNF-α induces a pro-inflammatory phenotypic shift in monocytes through ACSL1 : Relevance to metabolic inflammation

Background/Aims: TNF-α-mediated pro-inflammatory phenotypic change in monocytes is known to be implicated in the pathogenesis of metabolic inflammation and insulin resistance. However, the mechanism by which TNF-α-induces inflammatory phenotypic shift in monocytes is poorly understood. Since long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase 1 (ACSL1) is associated with inflammatory monocytes/macrophages, we investigated the role of ACSL1 in the TNF-α-driven inflammatory phenotypic shift in the monocytes. Methods: Monocytes (Human monocytic THP-1 cells) were stimulated with TNF-α. Inflammatory phenotypic markers (CD16, CD11b, CD11c and HLA-DR) expression was determined with real time RT-PCR and flow cytometry. IL-1β and MCP-1 were determined by ELISA. Signaling pathways were identified by using ACSL1 inhibitor, ACSL1 siRNA and NF-κB reporter monocytic cells. Phosphorylation of NF-κB was analyzed by western blotting and flow cytometry. Results: Our data show that TNF-α induced significant increase in the expression of CD16, CD11b, CD11c and HLA-DR. Inhibition of ACSL1 activity in the cells with triacsin C significantly suppressed the expression of these inflammatory markers. Using ACSL-1 siRNA, we further demonstrate that TNF-α-induced inflammatory markers expression in monocytic cells requires ACSL1. In addition, IL-1b and MCP-1 production by TNF-α activated monocytic cells was significantly blocked by the inhibition of ACSL-1 activity. Interestingly, elevated NF-κB activity resulting from TNF-α stimulation was attenuated in ACSL1 deficient cells. Conclusion: Our findings provide an evidence that TNF-α-associated inflammatory polarization in monocytes is an ACSL1 dependent process, which indicates its central role in TNF-α-driven metabolic inflammation. © 2019 The Author(s).Peer reviewe

LAND SUITABILITY AND POND REVITALIZATION ANALYSIS FOR THE CULTIVATION OF WHITE SHRIMP AND MILKFISH IN A TRADITIONAL POLYCULTURE AND INTENSIVE CULTIVATION OF WHITE SHRIMP (LITOPENAEUS VANNAMEI): A CASE STUDY AT LAND OF PT. ARUTMIN INDONESIA ASAM-ASAM MINE, TANAH LAUT REGENCY OF INDONESIA

PT. Arutmin Indonesia Asam-Asam Mine, Tanah Laut Regency will try to carry out CSR development in the fisheries and marine sector in the form of making a demonstration plot (demonplot) in the form of ponds for Vanname shrimp cultivation at the location of former community shrimp ponds. The aim of this study was to analyze land suitability for Vanamme shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation in PT. Arutmin Indonesia Asam-Asam Mine, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan and pond revitalization for vanamme shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation on PT. Arutmin Indonesia Asam-Asam Mine, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan. Research in the area of former community ponds that have been freed by PT. Arutmin Indonesia Asam-asam Mine, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Data collection was carried out by observing the biophysical and social environmental conditions on PT. Arutmin Indonesia Asam-Asam Mine, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan). Data analysis technique to analyze the advantages of vannamei shrimp farming in traditional polyculture. Land suitability, the total value of the land suitability category to be used as a Vaname shrimp pond demonstration plot is 456 Ha with the Suitable category (S2) found at Station 1, Station 2 and Station 3 while the total value for the very suitable category is 364 Ha at Station 4. Average The average R/C ratio of vannamei shrimp farming is traditionally higher than the average R/C ratio of intensive vannamei shrimp farming in one production period. This happens because intensive cultivation costs a lot in investment costs compared to traditional methods which use little investment costs, but both traditional and intensive methods are very effective and economically profitable when viewed from short-term business performance indicators

In this study, the effects of polystyrene (PS) latex addition on the particle morphology and the pore content of calcium oxide (CaO) were investigated. The CaO particles were prepared using an ultrasonic nebulizer-assisted spray-pyrolysis method with variation of the PS/Ca(NO3)2·4H2O mass ratio in the precursor. Good crystallinity of CaO was obtained at 825°C of synthesis temperature under 2 l/min of nitrogen gas flow, which was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). According to scanning electron microscope (SEM) characterization, the CaO particles synthesized with 0 and 25 wt% PS addition had an almost spherical shape with an average size of 1.58 and 1.48 µm, respectively. In addition, macropores were formed in the CaO particles prepared with 25 wt% PS addition that had an average pore diameter of 583.26 nm. Meanwhile, the CaO particles prepared with 75 wt% PS addition had a random shape and an average size of 1.41 µm. The mesopore content was investigated by Barret-Joyner-Halenda (BJH) analysis, which showed improvement of the pore size from 3.45 nm to 5.42 nm for 0 and 25 wt% PS addition, respectively, which is proportional to the pore volume, pore surface area, and the capacity of SO2 retention
