Osallistumisen avain : Espoon alueella asuvien somalitaustaisten vapaaehtoistoiminnan koke-muksista ja ajatuksista

Tiivistelmä Tämä opinnäytetyö tutkii Espoossa asuvien somalitaustaisen kokemuksia ja ajatuksia vapaaehtoistoiminnasta. Opinnäytetyössä kuullaan kohderyhmän ääntä ja pohditaan, miten somalialaisia saataisiin vapaaehtoistoimintaan. Päätelmässä teen opinnäytetyöstä analyysia ja pohdin kehitysehdotuksia Espoon alueen toimijoille teemaan liittyen. Pitää myös pohtia millaiselta teema näyttää tulevaisuutta ajatellen. Onko maahanmuuttajien keskuudessa jotain trendejä teemaan liittyen? Opinnäytetyö osoittaa, että somalialaiset arvostavat vapaaehtoistyötä paljon ja haluavat kehittää vapaaehtoistoimintaa yhdessä kantaväestön järjestöjen kanssa. Maahanmuuttajien ja kantaväestön yhdistysten väliselle yhteistyölle on suuri tarve. Yhteistyön mahdollisuuksissa piilee myös valtavasti potentiaalia, josta kaikki osapuolet oppivat ja hyötyvät. Yhteistyön kautta maahanmuuttajat ja heidän järjestönsä hyötyvät kantaväestön osaamisesta ja saavat myös lisäresursseja omalle toiminnalleen. Lisäksi maahanmuuttajien kotoutuminen yhteiskuntaan ja heidän työllistymismahdollisuutensa parantuvat vapaaehtoistoiminnan kautta. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena ja tutkimustietoa kerättiin ryhmähaastattelun avulla. Opinnäytetyö antaa EJY:lle uutta tietoa maahanmuuttajien ajatuksista vapaaehtoistoimintaa kohtaan. Lisäksi se tuo esille somalitaustaisten ajatuksia, mutta nostaa esiin myös konkreettisia kehittämistarpeita, joiden avulla EJY ja muut vapaaehtoistyötä tekevät järjestöt voivat ryhtyä suunnittelemaan vapaaehtoistoimintaa opinnäytetyön tulosten pohjalta.Abstract The purpose of this thesis was to study the experiences and opinions of volunteerism among Somali immigrants in Espoo. The aim was to hear the voices and thoughts of Somali immigrants about volunteerism and to consider how Somalians could be more involved in voluntary work in the host population. My conclusion includes analysis and proposals for developments to develop volunteering. I have also taken into account the possible changes of the theme considering the future. Are there any trends in somali community with connections to the theme? The results of the thesis demonstrated that Somali people value volunteering a lot and want to develop volunteering together with the Finnish organizations. The study also pointed out that there is a great need for cooperation between immigrants and Finnish organizations. Through cooperation, Somalians and their organizations benefit from the knowledge of the Finnish organizations and also receive additional resources for their own activities. In addition, the integration of immigrants into society and their employment potential will improve through volunteering. The thesis was carried out in qualitative research and the research data was collected by group interview. The thesis gives new information to EJY about the somali-immigrants and their view of volunteering. The research also reveals concrete development ideas. Therefore in the future EJY can plan volunteering on the basis of data and information in the thesis

ADHD och autism i skola

In this study, we investigate how students with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and autism experience the school and what facilities, methods and strategies that exist to help these students. The study will contain facts about ADHD and autism, as well as information about the shortcomings and difficulties that exist in the school. Previous research from the last decade, in the subject of ADHD and autism in school, will also be presented. To achieve our purpose, we have made a literature review of reports, articles and books that we chose based on the relevance of these topics. We have then examined and analyzed this, based on Urie Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory, to provide an overall picture and to provide answers to our research questions. Based on the result, we have found many deficiencies and difficulties regarding students with ADHD and autism in school. However, we have also found many tools, methods and strategies that are important when the school designs its support for students with ADHD and autism. The results of this study can open the door to new approaches and how to support the students in the best way during their schooling.Den här studien undersöker hur elever med ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) och autism upplever skolan, samt vilka pedagogiska strategier som finns för att hjälpa dessa elever. Studien kommer innehålla fakta om ADHD och autism, samt information om vilka brister och svårigheter som finns inom skolan. Även tidigare forskning som har gjorts under det senaste decenniet inom ämnet ADHD och autism i skolan presenteras i denna studie. För att uppnå vårt syfte har vi gjort en litteraturstudie av rapporter, artiklar och böcker, som vi valde utifrån relevansen inom dessa ämnen. Detta har vi sedan granskat och analyserat utifrån Urie Bronfenbrenners ekologiska modell, för att ge en helhetsbild och för att ge svar på våra forskningsfrågor. Utifrån resultatet har vi funnit många brister och svårigheter, kring elever med ADHD och autism i skolan. Dock har vi även funnit många pedagogiska strategier som är betydelsefulla när skolan utformar sitt stöd till elever med ADHD och autism. Detta studieresultat kan öppna dörren till nya synsätt på hur man kan stödja eleverna på bästa sätt, under deras skolgång
