Community service is conducted in the form of a training workshop on the use of wingeom software for elementary, junior and senior high school teachers in Pangalengan District. The purpose of this service is to improve teacher competence in using learning software in the classroom, especially wingeom software. The location of the service was held at SMAN 1 Pangalengan, with a total of 51 participants. Researchers conducted initial observations by distributing questionnaires on the google form. The results of preliminary observations indicate that teachers in schools are still lacking in the use of ICT, especially mathematical software in learning. The teachers do not have the skills to use the software in learning mathematics. The lack of use of ICT is due to the teachers' lack of understanding of ICT, so that teachers have difficulty in operating mathematical software. This has encouraged the implementation team to conduct wingeom software training to improve the competence of teachers in the ICT field in Pangalengan District. During the wingeom software training, the teachers were very enthusiastic in following their activities from the beginning to the end of the training. Through the questionnaire at the end of the training it was found that the teachers could master the wingeom software and be able to apply the software when learning especially learning about geometry. Wingeom software training can improve the competence of teachers in Pangalengan District. Through this mathematics software training, the teacher has skills n teaching mathematics that is interesting and fun for students

Activities posing and solving a problem are important parts in mathematics, so the problem posing is an activity that was instrumental in mathematical thinking and become an important part in solving the problem. This type of research is research and development that aims to develop student worksheets through scientific approach with what if not strategy. The research method consists of stages: literature study, observation, interviews, development of student worksheets, assessment of two experts, and restricted trial to the eleventh grade students in SMAN 2 Cimahi, SMAN 3 Cimahi, and SMAN 4 Cimahi. Based on the findings, it was concluded that the student worksheets through scientific approach with what if not strategy load some activities including observing, questioning, trying, reasoning, and concluding. The activity of questioning using what if not strategy involves changing data, adding data, changing data with the same question, or changing question with the same data. The student worksheets also presented some contextual problems in accordance with the experience of students. After tested using worksheet, the improvement of student mathematical problem posing in the three schools was in moderate criteria

The ability to understand mathematics is a basic ability that must be improved because there are still many students who have low understanding abilities. Kahoot learning media can improve students' mathematical understanding abilities according to the material and student characteristics. The purpose of this study is to determine the success of applying Kahoot media in improving the ability to understand mathematics in integer material for junior high school students. The method used in this research is quantitative. The data collection technique comes from the results of a description test of 4 questions regarding students' mathematical understanding abilities in integer material. Quantitative data analysis techniques were processed using descriptive and inferential statistics using Microsoft Excel and SPSS applications. This research was conducted on students at one of the MTs in West Bandung class VII as many as 22 students. The results showed that there was an increase in students' mathematical understanding abilities as indicated by the learning outcomes and student responses after the learning process took place. Students can develop their mathematical understanding skills with the help of this Kahoot media. This increase can be proven by the increase in students' pre-test and post-test results as evidenced by the calculation of the n-gain value. The results of the n-gain calculation show that the increase in students is 0.83 in the high category. This means that the application of kahoot media is successful in increasing students' mathematical understanding of integer material

The ability to solve mathematical problems is very important because it is one of the abilities that belong to the ability to think at a high level, therefore it must be trained. One of the factors that can support this is self-concept in doing something and especially in learning mathematics, but this is inversely proportional to the field which stated that self-concept and mathematical problem-solving abilities were still relatively low, the panelists were interested in conducting a research entitled the application of a constructivist approach to improve mathematical problem-solving abilities and self-concept of junior high school students, this study used the experimental method using experimental design and schematized by researchers therefore the researcher chose Krida Utama Middle School Jl. Gedong Lima No. V, Kertamulya, Kec. Padalarang, of course, with class divisions, namely an experimental class and a control class of 30 students. To measure mathematical problem-solving abilities and self-concept towards mathematics, the researcher makes a design or learning that is by the approach and makes measurement tools clear and accurate to see the results of constructivism learning, in the final posttest results from the experimental class obtains a Ngain value of 0.5968 in the learning category the experimental class has a pretty good category, and from the results of distributing the Self Concept questionnaire to learning mathematics using the constructivism approach it gets a percentage score of 77.71%, this indicates that learning using the constructivism approach can have a good effect on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities and concepts students towards learning mathematics

Analysis of Vocational School Student’s Mathematical Reasoning in Quadratic Equation

    Get PDF
Essay test questions in mathematics learning at Vocational High Schools show that most students have difficulty answering questions about quadratic equations, this is the basis of the research. The reason this problem can occur is because students are not careful in interpreting questions so students cannot master inductive indicators. The purpose of this study is to find out more about students' mistakes when answering questions about mathematics through analysis and description of some of the students' mistakes in answering questions about quadratic equations, therefore this study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were students of class XI Software Engineering at a Vocational High School in Kabupaten Bandung Barat with a total of 15 students. The stages in this research are planning, implementation, and reporting. Student test results as many as three questions are used to collect data. The analysis technique used is data reduction, by presenting the data then conclusions are drawn. The results and discussion of this study showed that students made mistakes in answering quadratic equation questions. The accuracy of students towards questions number 1 and number 3 is still low, so it is necessary to do regular exercises. Students' mathematical reasoning abilities need to be honed again. It can be seen from the results of the answers to question 2 that students have not been able to interpret the questions so that inductive indicators on students' mathematical reasoning abilities have not been fulfilled
