P02-178 HIV/Aids and mental illness dual diagnosis: Exploring healthcare professionals' perspective

Aims:A growing body of scientific literature emphasizes a strong linkage between HIV/Aids and serious mental illness. In the Italian context, specialized services for combined management of dual diagnosis are increasingly requested, and healthcare professionals (HPWs) have to face up the difficulty emerging by this new situation. To bridge these gaps, the present study aimed at studying the representations of dual diagnosis, analyzing HPWs' experiences from their own perspectives, in order to understand their difficulty and create future good practices in healthcare services.Method:A quali-quantitative study was conducted with a multidisciplinary sample of professionals (N=91), drawn by HIV/Aids and Mental Health sites. Due to the exploratory nature of the research, data were collected from semi-structured interviews: HPWs were asked about their work experiences with HIV/Aids and Mental Illness. The interviews were fully audio-taped and verbatim transcribed. A computer-aided lexical correspondence analysis was conducted by a dedicated text-analysis software. Results:Data analysis showed out two main factorial dimensions: the first regarding the representation of the "Management of dual diagnosis within Health Services", and the second one referring to the "categorization of HIV/Aids-Mental Illness co-morbidity". Furthermore, four different Representational Conceptions were highlighted, corresponding to as many different ways HPWs use to represent/depict the aims of Health Service in relation to HIV/Aids-Mental Illness co-morbidity.Conclusion:This study reveals that socio-cultural meanings of dual diagnosis are not fixed; rather, they are ongoing co-constructed within the activities carried out by the HPWs involved in their specific health contexts in the exercise of their profession

Evolución costera de la desembocadura del Guadalquivir en los últimos 6000 años (SW de España)

3 páginas, 2 figuras, 5 referencias.Since the last Holocene sea level rise, about 6,900 yr BP, a series of depositional littoral landforms has been generated at the outlet of the Guadalquivir river, with progradation along the predominant longshore drift (towards the east). The littoral spit systems mapped constitute fur progradation phases. The first is dated between the Flandrian maximum (6,900 yr BP) and 4,500 yr BP; the second between 4,200-3,900 yr BP and 2,700-2,600 yr BP; the third between 2,300 yr BP and 1,100 yr BP; and the fourth between 1,000 yr BP and the present. There were separations of successive erosional phases between 4,500-4,200 yr BP, 2,600-2,300 yr BP and, 1,100-1,000 yr BP. Thus, cycles of higher sedimentation are established, with a slight fall and then stability of sea level. Littoral barrier constructions dominate, with the genesis of extensive tidal flats that decrease the size of the estuaries. These sedimentary phases are interrupted by rapid rises in sea level lasting from 100 to 300 years, when the previously constructed littoral barriers are eroded. The cliffs retreat, causing migration inland of dunar constructions, with frequent overlapping layers. Calculation and comparison of heat transfer coefficient & heat flux by varying the parameters for SCWR through CFD simulations

In the present study, CFD simulation was conducted for 2•2 rod bare bundle using water at supercritical pressures. Main objective of the simulation was to compare working of different turbulence models. K-epsilon, K-omega and Spalart-Allmaras turbulence models were chosen for our study. K-epsilon and K-omega turbulence models are two equation models and are widely used for industrial research. Whereas Spalart-Allmaras is one equation model which is least computationally expensive of all the models. All three turbulence models come under the Reynolds Average Navier Strokes model (RANS). CFD results were found to be sensitive with the appropriate turbulence model and this variation is documented through various plots

Isolation of KPC 3-producing Enterobacter aerogenes in a patient colonized by MDR Klebsiella pneumoniae

We describe the interspecies transmission of the plasmid-mediated blaKPC-3 gene, which confers carbapenem resistance, between clinically relevant gram-negative bacteria in a single patient. A KPC-3 producing Enterobacter aerogenes was isolated from a hospitalized patient previously colonized and then infected by a Klebsiella pneumoniae ST101 carrying the blaKPC-3 gene. The strains showed identical plasmids. Since intense horizontal exchanges among bacteria can occur in the gut, clinicians should be aware that patients colonized by carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae could become carriers of other carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae. © 2016 by Edimes - Edizioni Internazionali Srl.
