    EDUKASI PEMBUATAN DAN PENGGUNAAN ECO ENZYME DI LINGKUNGAN MASYARAKAT PINGGIRAN KOTA MEDAN

    Eco enzyme merupakan cairan serba guna hasil fermentasi limbah organik rumah tangga terutama buah-buahan dan sayuran. Menggalakkan pembuatan eco enzyme secara tidak langsung akan berkontribusi pada pengurangan emisi gas metana (CH4) ke atmosfir yang akan membantu menurunkan konsentrasi gas rumah kaca dan selanjutnya membantu mitigasi perubahan iklim akibat pemanasan global. Secara langsung, penggunaan eco enzyme akan membantu ekonomi rumah tangga berupa berkurangnya biaya membeli keperluan rumah tangga (bahan pembersih) maupun biaya usahatani melalui penggantian pupuk kimia dan pestisida oleh eco enzyme. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini diselenggarakan di Kelurahan Simalingkar B, Kecamatan Medan Tuntungan, salah satu kawasan pinggiran kota Medan. Tujuan kegiatan meliputi: (i) meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan peserta akan manfaat eco-enzyme dan pembuatannya, (ii) mendorong peserta menggunakan eco-enzyme hasil produksi bersama untuk keperluan pribadi dan rumah tangga dan (iii) memotivasi peserta mengajak tetangga dan kerabat secara bersama-sama memproduksi eco enzyme untuk digunakan di rumah tangga masing-masing. Selain melakukan pre-test dan post-test pada tahap pembuatan dan pemanenan, diakhir kegiatan dilakukan evaluasi. Kegiatan PKM menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan peserta dari nyaris tidak tahu menjadi baik dan sangat baik dengan nilai 71 hingga 89 (rentang nilai 0 ā€“ 100). Seluruh peserta puas dengan hasil yang diperoleh setelah menggunakan eco enzyme baik untuk keperluan pribadi, rumah tangga maupun pertanian.     Pisang raja bulu (Musa paradisiaca L. cv. Raja Bulu) merupakan salah satu buah tropikal yang banyak tumbuh di wilayah Asia Tenggara termasuk Indonesia dan Malaysia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh bibit pisang raja buluh dalam jumlah besar dan dalam waktu yang singkat melalui pemberian pupuk daun sebagai sumber nutrisi secara in vitro. Penelitian dilaksanakan di laboratorium kultur jaringan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas HKBP Nomensen, Medan. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Non Faktorial tiga ulangan dengan jenis medium kultur jaringan (M) sebagai perlakuan.     This research aims to; a) identify the development of production and analyze the constraints on the development of cassava commodities in Pancur Batu District; b) discover the model of cassava agribusiness development in Pancur Batu District. The analytical methods used were descriptive qualitative method using SWOT matrix and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study show; a) The cassava marketing channel in this area is still simple, dominated by the role of agents from farmers/ producers to industries/ processing factories; b) Capital access is a major obstacle to the development of agribusiness, as 80% of respondents said; c) The production price at the low producer/ farmer level is a barrier to the development of agribusiness, which was delivered by 78% of respondents; d) 78% of respondents expressed market access and the development of business partners was a constraint in the development of cassava agribusiness; e) Availability of land is the main strength of farmers in the development of cassava agribusiness in this region as conveyed by 83% of respondents. And 75% of respondents said that the availability of labor was not enough to support the development of agribusiness in this region, in addition to the fact that human resources were available in untrained conditions. Based on the conclusion it can be suggested that the Deli Serdang Regency Government; a) conducting training and counseling to farmers, especially in the utilization of production factors to increase their farming production; b) provide market information for farmers which includes output prices and input prices including market access for farmers; c) guarantee capital access for farmers sourced from government or private financial institutions with affordable interest rates; d) create policies to ensure the stability of production prices at the producer/ farmer level; e) bridging farmers to gain market access and development of business partners

    A research to study the effect of the type of IMOs Ā and the dose of chicken manure on the growth and yield of peanut was carried out using a randomized block design with three replications and two treatment factors, namely the types of IMO consisting of IMO of tamarillo, pineappleĀ  and orange peels, and the dose of chicken manure with the levels of 0, 10, 20 and 30 tons/ha. The IMOs were applied at a concentration of 45 ml/liter, eachĀ  The parameters were:Ā  plant height, stem diameter, filled pods per plant and yield per plot. The results showed that type of IMO and its interaction with the dose of chicken manure had no significant effect on plant growth and yield of peanut, while the dose of chicken manure had no significant effect on plant height and stem diameter, but had a significant effect on yield per plot and had a very significant effect on the filled pod per plant. The three types of IMO gave the same good effect, as indicated by the production of 197 percent compared to the yield potential of Gajah variety
