Neuromuscular and Physiological Assessment During a Vertical Jumping Test in Aerobic Gymnastics
In executing aerobic gymnastics technical elements, a high level of explosive power is needed, especially at lower-body muscle groups. In addition, to maintain the specific effort during routine length (1 min 30 s - 1 min 45 s), an optimal development of specific endurance training and a high capacity of focusing is required, in order to execute the technical elements with accuracy. The purpose of this study was to elaborate a testing protocol to evaluate the physical effort capacity necessary to perform specific technical elements in aerobic gymnastics. The proposed testing protocol, is aimed at assessing neuromuscular behavior of lower-body muscle action and the physiological demands, in a maximal vertical jump test (MVJ). The neuromuscular assessment of the of lower-body was achieved by measuring the specific vertical jump parameters, respectively the power in the take-off phase (P) and the height of the jump (JH). The testing protocol consisted of three sets of maximum vertical jumps, lasting 30 s each, with a 15 s rest time between sets. For the physiological demands, as a result of test implementation, heart rate (HR) and the blood lactate concentration (La) were measured. The study was conducted on a group of 13 junior level gymnasts, 7 females and 6 males (aged 14-16 years, average height 163 SD 8.1 cm, average weight 50.69 SD 8.47 kg). The results of this study confirm the proposed methodology reflects an objective view of the physical training status necessary for specific effort accomplishment in aerobic performance gymnastics.</em
Consumer behavior
The study of consumers helps firms and organizations improve their marketing strategies by understanding issues such as: the psychology of how consumers think, feel, reason, and select between different alternatives; the psychology of how the consumer is influenced by his or her environment; the behavior of consumers while shopping or making other marketing decisions; limitations in consumer knowledge or information processing abilities influence decisions and marketing outcome; how consumer motivation and decision strategies differ between products that differ in their level of importance or interest that they entail for the consumer; and how marketers can adapt and improve their marketing campaigns and marketing strategies to more effectively reach the consumer.behavior, consumer, marketing, products, services
Electron-phonon coupling in Ti/TiN MKIDs multilayer microresonator
Over the last few years there has been a growing interest toward the use of
superconducting microwave microresonators operated in quasi-thermal equilibrium
mode, especially applied to single particle detection. Indeed, previous devices
designed and tested by our group with X-ray sources in the keV range evidenced
that several issues arise from the attempt of detection through athermal
quasiparticles produced within direct strikes of X-rays in the superconductor
material of the resonator. In order to prevent issues related to quasiparticles
self-recombination and to avoid exchange of athermal phonons with the
substrate, our group focused on the development of thermal superconducting
microresonators. In this configuration resonators composed of multilayer films
of Ti/TiN sense the temperature of an absorbing material. To maximize the
thermal response, low critical temperature films are preferable. By lowering
the critical temperature, though, the maximum probing power bearable by the
resonators decrease abruptly because of the weakening of the electron-phonon
coupling. A proper compromise has to be found in order to avoid signal to noise
ratio degradation. In this contribution we report the latest measurement of the
electron-phonon coupling
Cardiac Anatomy for the Electrophysiologist with Emphasis on the Left Atrium and Pulmonary Veins
This chapter aims to provide basic anatomical knowledge for the interventional electrophysiologists to understand catheter placement and ablation targets. We begin with the location of the heart inside the mediastinum, position of cardiac chambers, pericardial space and neighboring structures of the heart. We continue with the right atrium and important structures inside it: sinus node, cavotricuspid isthmus, Koch’s triangle and interatrial septum with fossa ovalis. A special part of this chapter is dedicated to the left atrium and pulmonary veins with the venoatrial junction, important structures for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation. We finish our description with both ventricles with outflow tracts and the coronary venous system
Work satisfaction in the food industry - a premise for economic performance
The greatest challenge for Romania’s food industry is to achieve technical and economic
parity with the rest of Europe. Therefore, businesses require productive employees, and labor
productivity depends on employee satisfaction. This study’s primary objective was to investigate
employee satisfaction in the bakery industry in order to enhance economic performance. This topic is
rarely researched, but it is necessary to enhance the economic performance and work processes of
this industry. A combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods were used, including
an online questionnaire survey of 254 employees and a focus group meeting with 17 managers
from 60 companies in the Northeast and Southeast regions of Romania. Total pay (5.3 points on a
1–7-point scale), amount of work (4.9 points), and number of working hours (4.8 points) were the top
motivators. The average weighted value for job satisfaction on a scale of 100 points was 27.4 points.
The relationship between labor costs and employee satisfaction was strong. Low levels of satisfaction
are costlier for employers than high levels of satisfaction. The originality of this study lies in its
determination of how strongly employees perceive each aspect of job satisfaction and its correlation
to the economic performance of companies
Results from the Cuore Experiment
The Cryogenic Underground Observatory for Rare Events (CUORE) is the first bolometric experiment searching for neutrinoless double beta decay that has been able to reach the 1-ton scale. The detector consists of an array of 988 TeO2 crystals arranged in a cylindrical compact structure of 19 towers, each of them made of 52 crystals. The construction of the experiment was completed in August 2016 and the data taking started in spring 2017 after a period of commissioning and tests. In this work we present the neutrinoless double beta decay results of CUORE from examining a total TeO2 exposure of 86.3kg yr, characterized by an effective energy resolution of 7.7 keV FWHM and a background in the region of interest of 0.014 counts/ (keV kg yr). In this physics run, CUORE placed a lower limit on the decay half- life of neutrinoless double beta decay of 130Te > 1.3.1025 yr (90% C. L.). Moreover, an analysis of the background of the experiment is presented as well as the measurement of the 130Te 2vo3p decay with a resulting half- life of T2 2. [7.9 :- 0.1 (stat.) :- 0.2 (syst.)] x 10(20) yr which is the most precise measurement of the half- life and compatible with previous results
