Quantitative assessment of human motion using video motion analysis
In the study of the dynamics and kinematics of the human body, a wide variety of technologies was developed. Photogrammetric techniques are well documented and are known to provide reliable positional data from recorded images. Often these techniques are used in conjunction with cinematography and videography for analysis of planar motion, and to a lesser degree three-dimensional motion. Cinematography has been the most widely used medium for movement analysis. Excessive operating costs and the lag time required for film development coupled with recent advances in video technology have allowed video based motion analysis systems to emerge as a cost effective method of collecting and analyzing human movement. The Anthropometric and Biomechanics Lab at Johnson Space Center utilizes the video based Ariel Performance Analysis System to develop data on shirt-sleeved and space-suited human performance in order to plan efficient on orbit intravehicular and extravehicular activities. Einstein Probe - a small mission to monitor and explore the dynamic X-ray Universe
Einstein Probe is a small mission dedicated to time-domain high-energy
astrophysics. Its primary goals are to discover high-energy transients and to
monitor variable objects in the keV X-rays, at higher sensitivity by
one order of magnitude than those of the ones currently in orbit. Its
wide-field imaging capability, featuring a large instantaneous field-of-view
(, sr), is achieved by using established
technology of micro-pore (MPO) lobster-eye optics, thereby offering
unprecedentedly high sensitivity and large Grasp. To complement this powerful
monitoring ability, it also carries a narrow-field, sensitive follow-up X-ray
telescope based on the same MPO technology to perform follow-up observations of
newly-discovered transients. Public transient alerts will be downlinked
rapidly, so as to trigger multi-wavelength follow-up observations from the
world-wide community. Over three of its 97-minute orbits almost the entire
night sky will be sampled, with cadences ranging from 5 to 25 times per day.
The scientific objectives of the mission are: to discover otherwise quiescent
black holes over all astrophysical mass scales by detecting their rare X-ray
transient flares, particularly tidal disruption of stars by massive black holes
at galactic centers; to detect and precisely locate the electromagnetic sources
of gravitational-wave transients; to carry out systematic surveys of X-ray
transients and characterize the variability of X-ray sources. Einstein Probe
has been selected as a candidate mission of priority (no further selection
needed) in the Space Science Programme of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,

The impact of the new CHAMP and GRACE Earth gravity models on the measurement of the general relativistic Lense--Thirring effect with the LAGEOS and LAGEOS II satellites
Among the effects predicted by the General Theory of Relativity for the
orbital motion of a test particle, the post-Newtonian gravitomagnetic
Lense-Thirring effect is very interesting and, up to now, there is not yet an
undisputable experimental direct test of it. To date, the data analysis of the
orbits of the existing geodetic LAGEOS and LAGEOS II satellites has yielded a
test of the Lense-Thirring effect with a claimed accuracy of 20%-30%. According
to some scientists such estimates could be optimistic. Here we wish to discuss
the improvements obtainable in this measurement, in terms of reliability of the
evaluation of the systematic error and reduction of its magnitude, due to the

The textbook used with this unit is Exprésate 3, specifically Chapter 9. This UbD unit was written for an ABc schedule (90/90/45) with the goal of students becoming more confident with their use of advanced Spanish and understanding the importance of storytelling. It should be noted that while “Days” are written in the unit they should function more as a guide. The sequence is significantly more important than the schedule
Tensiones que desafían la inclusión educativa y su polisemia en tiempos de COVID-19
[ES] Los trabajos presentados en el congreso «INCLUYE», organizado por el Grupo de Investigación Reconocido (GIR) en Multiculturalidad, Innovación y Tecnologías Aplicadas (MITA) de la Universidad de Salamanca, reúne a la comunidad investigadores para discutir y reflexionar sobre tres ejes temáticos relevantes y urgentes para nuestra educación actual, en las diversas latitudes del mundo: equidad e igualdad en educación escolar y superior; educación intercultural; métodos, metodologías y evaluación inclusivas. En el primero se presentan reflexiones y praxis educativas, que intentan alcanzar la equidad e igualdad, dejando atrás las etiquetas que lejos de unir, marcan las diferencias en el alumnado con diversidad de género y necesidades especiales. En el segundo se aborda la educación intercultural y multicultural en diversos contextos educativos en el contexto de los fenómenos migratorios que nos encontramos viviendo a nivel mundial. Tiene especial énfasis las competencias y principios pedagógicos para la acción educativa intercultural, como en las intervenciones educativas para prevenir situaciones de conflicto. En el tercer eje se exponen trabajos que abordan la innovación educativa para la inclusión a través de metodologías activas y emergentes para que el alumnado logre el máximo nivel de desarrollo personal y la adquisición del mayor grado de conocimientos y destrezas de acuerdo con sus propias posibilidades. Este tema, está dirigido especialmente a aquellas propuestas que recojan estrategias pedagógicas que tengan como finalidad la inclusión de todo el alumnado en la comunidad educativa, especialmente de los grupos con más riesgo de exclusión

Sustainable Retrofitting in the 21st Century: Reviewing the Impact of Municipal Policy on Rental Property Owners
2024AbstractThe climate crisis is influenced by many factors, including energy use in residential buildings, which accounts for approximately 10% of Canada's total greenhouse gas emissions. Achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 requires that 85% of existing buildings be retrofitted to a zero-carbon-ready state. Rental properties, often less energy efficient than owner-occupied homes, must also be improved to meet these targets. This study investigates how prepared rental property operators in Regina are to meet the City's net-zero emissions goal by 2050, as outlined in the Energy and Sustainability Framework. Through interviews with rental property operators and municipal representatives and reviewing relevant literature, this research identifies the challenges and opportunities in adopting energy-efficient practices in the rental sector. The findings provide insights for policymakers, highlighting the gap between policy goals and the practical realities rental property operators face. The researcher's personal experience in the rental property industry and governmental roles enriches the study.
