Amazon: A Case Study
Katie Preuh’s presentation was about Amazon.com and how the company has grown with technology. Currently, they have acquired online retailers like ShopBob, Zappos, and Myhabit. This is helping the brand because their own Amazon Fashion is hard to navigate and was not marketed appropriately
Constitutional Law - First Amendment - Book Removals - School Boards
The United States Supreme Court has held that removals of books from high school libraries may not be motivated by the political, moral, or social tastes of school board members, or a desire of the board to suppress access to ideas with which they disagree.

Review of \u3ci\u3eState of Change: Colorado Politics in the Twenty-First Century. \u3c/i\u3eEdited by Courtenay W. Daum, Robert 1. Duffy, and John A. Straayer.
This edited volume compiles an impressive set of contributions covering the complexity, causes, and implications of the transformation of Colorado politics and policy over the last few decades. Several chapters illustrate how demographics, institutions, and public policy altered the makeup of what was once considered a fairly solid red state into one with a more purple hue. Combined with chapters examining recent constraints on legislative authority and Colorado\u27s fiscal policy, the volume represents an exceptional look into the changing nature of Colorado politics and serves as both a historical narrative and solid political analysis that should be compulsory reading for anyone interested in politics in the state and region

Tenfold your photons -- a physically-sound approach to filtering-based variance reduction of Monte-Carlo-simulated dose distributions
X-ray dose constantly gains interest in the interventional suite. With dose
being generally difficult to monitor reliably, fast computational methods are
desirable. A major drawback of the gold standard based on Monte Carlo (MC)
methods is its computational complexity. Besides common variance reduction
techniques, filter approaches are often applied to achieve conclusive results
within a fraction of time. Inspired by these methods, we propose a novel
approach. We down-sample the target volume based on the fraction of mass,
simulate the imaging situation, and then revert the down-sampling. To this end,
the dose is weighted by the mass energy absorption, up-sampled, and distributed
using a guided filter. Eventually, the weighting is inverted resulting in
accurate high resolution dose distributions. The approach has the potential to
considerably speed-up MC simulations since less photons and boundary checks are
necessary. First experiments substantiate these assumptions. We achieve a
median accuracy of 96.7 % to 97.4 % of the dose estimation with the proposed
method and a down-sampling factor of 8 and 4, respectively. While maintaining a
high accuracy, the proposed method provides for a tenfold speed-up. The overall
findings suggest the conclusion that the proposed method has the potential to
allow for further efficiency.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, Bildverarbeitung f\"ur die Medizin 202
Desempenho percebido, potência de equipes, stresse e capital psicológico: suas correlações em equipes femininas de esportes coletivos
This study aims to investigate the correlations between Perception of Performance at
Work and the Perception of Stress, Team Power and Psychological Capital. Perception of
Performance at Work is a construct composed of two dimensions (with its own characteristics
and definitions): Task Performance and Contextual Performance. Team Power is a relatively
new concept to be studied, and it is defined as the capabilities and beliefs that individuals have
that they are able to perform a given activity successfully. Already Stress in the Work can be
defined as the degree of total wear caused by the work, with the existence of effects in the mind
or body, whereas Psychological Capital is composed of four dimensions (with its own definition
and measurement): Hope, Optimism, Resilience and Self Efficiency. In order to reach the goal,
four scales (ICPT -25; Stress Questionnaire; EGDT; EPET) were applied to 31 female amateur
sport teams. The results showed significant correlations between Power Perception and Task
Performance; Task and Contextual Expectations; Optimism and Contextual Performance and
Effectiveness and Task and Contextual Performances. The limitations of this research, its
contributions and a research agenda were presented as a conclusion.
e Auto Eficácia. Para o alcance do objetivo, foram aplicadas quatro escalas (ICPT -25;
As limitações desta
investigação, suas contribuições e uma agenda de pesquisa foram apresentadas à guisa de
conclusão
