    Morphological Analysis of Compound Adjectives in Sentences in Brooke\u27s Heartland

    This research was aimed at finding out the patterns of compound adjectives used in Heartland novel and the way on how Brooke (2001) developed them in her writing. To reach the objective, the writer focused on attributive adjectives in every sentence. Content analysis approach was applied to analyze the data. The writer found that there are eight patterns based on the morphological processes happened. Seven of those patterns agree with theory by Delahunty and Garvey (2010), while one pattern remaining includes irregular compound adjective. The eight patterns of compound adjectives consist of: A-A (54); Adv-A (11); A-N (5); N-A (5); V-N (2); P-N (1); V-A (1); and irregular compound adjective (2). Furthermore, Brooke (2001) wrote those compound adjectives in some different ways: putting commas (,), giving hyphen (-), ordering according to the rules, putting space, or writing closely. At the end, these findings are expected to give contribution to language learning, specifically writing descriptive paragraph. Students will have more detailed and vivid writing which can arise the emotional feelings of the readers only by imitating and adjusting the pattern and the way of writing compound adjectives.     Effect of Tokay Gecko (Gekko Gecko LINNAEUS, 1758) Saliva on Angiogenesis During Wound Healing Phase of Autotomized Tail in Common Sun Skink (Eutropis Multifasciata KUHL, 1820)

    The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Tokay gecko saliva on morphology and angiogenesis response on the healing process of skink tail wound and also to characterize the protein profile of Gecko saliva. Twelve skinks were autotomized and wound surface of tail smeared by young gecko saliva, adult gecko saliva, and human's saliva twice per day and control. The morphological changes of the wound surface were observed. The angiogenesis response was observed in vitro using Chorioallantois Membrane (CAM) of the ninth day's chick embryos. Protein profile of gecko saliva analyzed with SDS-PAGE. Generally, treated wound showed a better healing. Young gecko saliva able to stimulate angiogenesis in wound healing stage of sun skink tail after autotomy. Saliva protein of young and adult Gecko differences was not only in the size (or density) but also in the number of the bands. The young and adult Gecko revealed a striking consistency of protein patterns, indicating a profound physiological stability of the whole saliva. This study showed that Gecko saliva able to accelerate wound healing, thus Gecko saliva may have potential me as a future therapeutic for treating infected wounds

    Budaya Literasi Melalui Program Gls Dalam Menumbuhkembangkan Minat Baca Siswa SD Negeri Melayu

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Budaya Literasi melalui program Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) dalam menumbuhkembangkan minat baca siswa di SD Negeri Melayu berdasarkan dari segi implementasi serta peran pihak sekolah dalam mendukung program GLS di SD Negeri Melayu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun objek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri Melayu tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini terbagi atas dua yakni sumber data primer dan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari wawancara, kuesioner (angket), observasi, studi dokumentasi, studi kepustakaan. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan 3 tahap yaitu data reduction, data display, dan Conclusion drawing/Verification. Program GLS di SD Negeri Melayu mulai diterapkan pada tahun 2016 yang merupakan bentuk kebijakan pemerintah dalam mewujudkan budaya literasi bagi siswa melalui kegiatan membaca 15 menit setiap dari seblum pelajaran dimulai, sebagaimana tertuang dalam Permendikbud Nomor 23 Tahun 2015. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa: (1) Budaya literasi melalui implementasi GLS dalam menumbuhkembangkan minat baca peserta didik SD Negeri Melayu belum berjalan efektif dari segi tahap-tahap pelaksanaan.Namun,melalui tahap pembiasaan dalam wujud menumbuhkembangkan minat baca siswa SD Negeri Melayu telah dilihat dari kegiatan siswa didalam kelas sebelum memulai pelajaran, telah membiasakan diri untuk membaca selama 15 menit; (2) Peran pihak sekolah dalam mendukung program GLS di SD Negeri Melayu melalui penyediaan sarana dan pasarana, serta arahan dan motivasi guru maupun pustakawan terhadap siswa dalam tahap pembiasaan merupakan wujud kerjasama seluruh pihak sekolah SD Negeri Melayu dalam menumbuhkembangkan minat baca siswa

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa kemandirian belajar fisika pada siswa di SMA N 10 Kota Jambi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengambil dua jenis data yaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif pada subjek penelitian sebanyak 26 siswa kelas X MIA 4. Penelitian menemukan bahwa 69% siswa tidak tergantung orang lain, 66% percaya diri, 58% mengontrol diri, 64% motivasi, dan 72% tanggung jawab. Dari data kualitatif disimpulkan bahwa rancangan pembelajaran yang di desain oleh guru tidak sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa

    Bogor Botanic Gardens is an ex-situ plant conservation area in Indonesia. Since BBG is 103 years old, many collections are 100 years old or older. These antique collections may sustain damage, such as broken or collapsing, endangering visitors and employees. As a result, monitoring tree health at BBG is a critical task. According to the tree health monitoring data, 73 of 244 trees were further checked using the PiCUS Sonic Tomograph. Trees from the Fabaceae (31%) and Myrtaceae (10%) families were the most frequently checked. Walnuts trees from the Burseraceae family had the most specimens (47,94%). The PST effectively provides an immediate picture of the stem condition by calculating solid and decaying wood percentage values

    The Effect of Information Asymmetry and Business Diversification on Cost of Equity Capital

    This study aims to examine the effect of information asymmetry and business diversification on the cost of equity capital in mining companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange with a sample of 14 companies for the 2017-2019 period. Data analysis used descriptive research with quantitative research methods in the form of secondary data. Information asymmetry is measured using the bid-ask spread and diversification is measured using the Herfindahl Index proxy while the cost of equity capital is measured using the Ohlson model. Hypothesis testing is carried out using multiple linear regression analysis to see how much influence information asymmetry and diversification have on the cost of equity capital. The result indicated that information asymmetry had a positive impact on the cost of equity capital and business diversification had a positive impact on the cost of equity capital

    Pengembangan Media Pebelajaran Berbasis Audio Visual pada Mata Kuliah Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) Menggunakan Adobe Flash CS6

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui hasil pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis audio visual pada mata kuliah Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) menggunakan Adobe Flash CS6 dan (2) mengetahui media pembelajaran berbasis audio visual pada mata kuliah Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) menggunakan Adobe Flash CS6 valid, praktis dan efektif digunakanHasil penelitian dan pengembangan yaitu sebuah produk berupa media pembelajaran berbasis audio visual yang di dalamnya terdapat materi-materi inti dari Mata Kuliah Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3). Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model Thiagarajan (1974) yaitu model 4D yang terdiri dari empat langkah yakni pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (development) dan penyebaran (dissemination). Hasil penelitian dari penelitian pengembangan ini adalah berupa produk media pembelajaran berbasis audio visual yang dikembangkan menggunakan Adobe Flash CS6 untuk Mata Kuliah Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) dengan hasil penilaian dari ahli materi mendapatkan persentase 97,3% dengan kategori sangat valid dan hasil penilian dari ahli media mendapatkan persentase 90,62% dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji coba skala kecil untuk aspek kepraktisan mendapatkan persentase 85,6% dengan kategori sangat praktis dan untuk aspek keefektifan mendapatkan persentase 87,11% dengan persentase sangat efektif. Hasil uji coba skala besar untuk aspek kepraktisan mendapatkan persentase 85,46% dengan kategori sangat praktis dan untuk aspek keefektifan mendapatkan persentase 85,36% dengan persentase sangat efektif
