This study aimed to observe Rex and Rex-Satin cross (Reza) does and their bunny ‘growth rate in Tebonan village, Hargobinangun, Pakem, Sleman. Two groups contain five of five- to eight-month-old Rex and Reza, respectively, were used in this study. Rabbits were reared in an individual wire hutch and fed with commercial feed and pasture i.e. groundnut straw or corn fodder. They were mated with the buck from the same breeds for each group. Data were analyzed using statistical analysis of independent sample T-test. Service per conception, gestation length, litter size, birth weight, litter weight, and mortality rate in Rex and Reza were 1.00±0.00 and 1.20±0.45 times, 32.20±1.48 and 32.20±1.30 days, 5.20±1.79 and 4.60±2.19 tails, 86.85±27.39 and 71.17±25.45 g, 412.80±137.78 and 336.68±168.40 g, and 10.00±14.91 and 30.00±27.39 % respectively. The bodyweight of bunny of Rex and Reza at one to four weeks of age were 170.83±69.96 and 148.09±47.24 g, 227.10±98.36 and 196.83±32.73 g, 286.60±135.76 and 233.30±29.01 g, and 341.13±158.19 and 304.70±49.44 g, respectively. It was concluded that the gestation length, litter size, birth weight, and litter weight of Rex and Reza were similar. Service per conception and bunny’s mortality rate of Rex does were higher than those of Reza does. Bunny’s growth rate of both breeds was similar

The problem facing sheep breeders in breeding sheep was digestive tract parasite of worm (nematodiasis and haemonchosis). Resistance to anthelmintics was the reason for the study of alternative medication of H. contortus infection. It aimed at finding out the effectiveness of the application of pineapple peel powder as H. contortus anthelmintic in sheep and the dose of the pineapple peel powder as the H. contortus anthelmintic. It used 15 sheep that were assigned to 5 groups. Group I served as positive control with the application of albendazole (Kalbazen) anthelmintic, Group II was treated using the pineapple peel powder at the dose of 150 mg/kg BW. Group III was treated using the pineapple peel powder at the dose of 200 mg/kg BW. Group IV was treated using the pineapple peel powder at the dose of 250 mg/kg BW. And, Group V served as negative control without any treatment. The treatments were conducted for 14 days and the resulting statistic data were analyzed using comparative descriptive method by comparing initial data (before the treatments) and final data (after the treatments). The comparative data showed that there was significant change in the observed variables. The results of the study showed that the pineapple peel powder could be used as the anthelmintic of the H. contortus in the sheep and the dose of 250 mg/kg BW most significantly decreased the mean number of the eggs of the worm per gram of fece

The study was carried out to investigate the effect of gonadotropin hormone supplementation into in vitro maturation medium on maturation, fertilization and embryo development of Bligon goats. This research steps consist of oocyte collection, in vitro maturation, in vitro fertilization, and in vitro embryo development. At the maturation stage the oocyte that had been collected and divided into two groups based on the maturation medium, that was tissue culture medium (TCM) with supplementation of GnRH 0 IU/mL and GnRH 25 IU/mL. Oocyte and embryo morphology data were analyzed descriptively. Maturation rate and embryo development data were analyzed by using independent sample t-test. Fertilization data was analyzed descriptively. The result showed the percentages of mature oocytes from gonadotropin supplementation of 0 IU/mL and 25 IU/mL were 54.10±25.97 and 54.89±26.44%, respectively. Expansion cumulus cells surrounding the oocytes might indicated the mature oocytes. Cleavage rate of the 2 cells stage were 13,02±11,09 and 27,01±16,65%; respectively, and for the 4 cells stage were 10,16±10,01% and 16,67±14.91%. Embryos obtained from the treatment, indicated uniform of blastomeres in the size, tight, compact, intact, and round-spherical shape. It could be concluded that supplementation of gonadotropin hormone into in vitro maturation medium could not increase the rate of oocyte maturation and 4 cell embryo development, but it could increase 2 cell embryo development of Bligon goats. Hormone supplementation could improved the maturation and embryo quality
