    Get PDF
Lymphangiomatosis, a rare disease, occurs in individuals of any age, regardless of gender, but is predominantly seen in younger individuals. It often presents with pulmonary involvement, although, the bones, spleen and liver can also be affected. Histologically, pulmonary involvement includes proliferation, complex anastomoses and secondary dilatation of the lymphatic vessels. Clinically presentation is often variable but pulmonary involvement is affected more common than other involvements. Diagnosis is made histologically but radiologically can suggest diseases. Treatment is only supportive and symptomatic.

    Get PDF
Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia (ARVD) is under diagnosed cardiomyopathy which commonly presents in young adults with ventricular tachycardia or sudden death. It is characterized pathologically by progressive fibrofatty replacement of the myocardium, primarily of the right ventricular free wall. Clinically, it presents with life-threatening malignant ventricular arrhythmias which may lead to sudden death, most often in young people and athletes. ARVD/C is difficult to diagnose, although standardized diagnostic criteria have been proposed, based on the presence of major and minor criteria encompassing electrocardiographic, arrhythmic, morphofunctional, histopathologic, and genetic factors

Deep learning to filter SMS spam

    Get PDF
The popularity of short message service (SMS) has been growing over the last decade. For businesses, these text messages are more effective than even emails. This is because while 98% of mobile users read their SMS by the end of the day, about 80% of the emails remain unopened. The popularity of SMS has also given rise to SMS Spam, which refers to any irrelevant text messages delivered using mobile networks. They are severely annoying to users. Most existing research that has attempted to filter SMS Spam has relied on manually identified features. Extending the current literature, this paper uses deep learning to classify Spam and Not-Spam text messages. Specifically, Convolutional Neural Network and Long Short-term memory models were employed. The proposed models were based on text data only, and self-extracted the feature set. On a benchmark dataset consisting of 747 Spam and 4,827 Not-Spam text messages, a remarkable accuracy of 99.44% was achieved

    Get PDF
Background: The lateral supramalleolar flap is based on a perforator of the peroneal artery, emanating at approximately 5 cm above the lateral malleolus on the anterior aspect of lower third leg. Methods: Our technique of harvesting the supramalleolar flap is by using a fasciocutaneous pedicle and minimal perforator dissection. We have done 45 cases in the last 7 years and have got favourable results with this technique. Results: We have not had a single case of total flap necrosis of a supramalleolar flap in our experience over the last 7 years. We routinely perform this flap when the reverse sural flap territory is not available. Conclusions: The lateral supramalleolar flap is a useful flap for coverage of lower third leg, ankle and dorsal foot defects. If raised as described, the reliability of this flap is increased.

Objective: In view of marked accentuations in cardiometabolic diseases in developing countries such as India, we aimed to conduct a cross-sectional study analyzing the prevalence of cardiometabolic risk factors in local population of Ghaziabad. Methods: The study is descriptive, random sample survey, and cross-sectional study. The study was carried out at Santosh Medical College, Ghaziabad, on 350 participants between the age group 18-70 years. After taking the informed consent, they were included in the study. The variables recorded were clinical history, all risk factors of cardiovascular disease including blood pressure, body mass index, waist circumference, blood sugar and serum lipid levels, cigarette use, and dietary habit.Result: Our study shows that the high prevalence of multiple risk factors in a general population with as many as 70% of the participants had metabolic syndrome. Among individually studied groups, obesity was the most common followed by dyslipidemia then diabetes and hypertension and the least prevalent was smoking. Females were more commonly affected than males by dyslipidemia and obesity, probably due to physical inactivity coupled with unhealthy diet and lifestyle. Conclusion: There is the higher prevalence of cardiometabolic risk factors among the population making the individuals prone to associated spontaneous coronary artery dissection and their predisposition. Therefore, timely detection of cardiometabolic factors and appropriate interventions may be of prime concern

Cloud Computing provides a solution to enterprise applications in resolving their services at all level of Software, Platform, and Infrastructure. The current demand of resources for large enterprises and their specific requirement to solve critical issues of services to their clients like avoiding resources contention, vendor lock-in problems and achieving high QoS (Quality of Service) made them move towards the federated cloud. The reliability of the cloud has become a challenge for cloud providers to provide resources at an instance request satisfying all SLA (Service Level Agreement) requirements for different consumer applications. To have better collation among cloud providers, FLA (Federated Level Agreement) are given much importance to get consensus in terms of various KPI’s (Key Performance Indicator’s) of the individual cloud providers. This paper proposes an FLA-SLA Aware Cloud Collation Formation algorithm (FS-ACCF) considering both FLA and SLA as major features affecting the collation formation to satisfy consumer request instantly. In FS-ACCF algorithm, fuzzy preference relationship multi-decision approach was used to validate the preferences among cloud providers for forming collation and gaining maximum profit. Finally, the results of FS-ACCF were compared with S-ACCF (SLA Aware Collation Formation) algorithm for 6 to 10 consecutive requests of cloud consumers with varied VM configurations for different SLA parameters like response time, process time and availability

ABSTRACT: The active power compensation has become the major concern for the power system engineers. A small change in the active power flow gives negative impact on the entire power system parameters. As the electrical power system is the most complex man made structure, hence, it's tough to maintain consistency though out the system, all day. To make the system stable proper monitoring is required or sometimes an auxiliary system can also be a good option, which can support the primary system during undesirable conditions. The recent developments indicate, for the electric power generation, wind energy forms are being utilized in a big way. These wind farms are not only playing vital role for the energy production but also contributing for the regulation of active and reactive power flow on the grid. This paper presents active power compensation of the grid with the help of Doubly Fed Induction Generator based on Wind Turbine. In this process, two converters are connected back to back, which are known as rotor side converter and grid side converter, have been used and the controlling of stator and rotor current can be achieved by the proper functioning of these two converters
