Wounds may be caused by trauma or by physical chemical and microbial agents or ischemia. The word “healing” means replacement of damaged or destroyed tissue by living tissue of same kind of tissue or different. The four basic processes which take place in wound healing are - Inflammation, Wound contraction, Epithelialization and Granulation tissue formation. There are many factors which influence the wound healing like age, nutrition, hormones, co-morbid conditions, place and position of wound, blood supply to the area exposure etc.[1] But involvement of infection will not allow the wound to heal and convert it into Dusta Vrana (chronic wound). Vrana Basti (oil pooling treatment) with Jatyadi Taila helps in managing Dusta Vrana effectively by controlling the healing environment. A case of 30-year male presented with complains of non-healing ulcer in left lower limb, above the medial malleolus with slough, discharge, foul smell, discoloration of surrounding skin has been presented here. There was complete healing of the ulcer after 30 days of treatment. In this case Jatyadi Taila shows its Shodhana, Ropana and Raktaprasadana property

CRITICAL REVIEW OF PHARMACOGENOMICS IN ANTIPARKINSONIAN DRUG THERAPY: IMPACT ON CLINICAL MANAGEMENT OF PARKINSON'S DISEASE

    Get PDF
Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by rest tremors, bradykinesia , rigidity , postural instability , gait dysfunction and several non motor symptoms . The marked difference in drug response and adverse effect profile among patients led to search of genetic markers and polymorphism associated with response to antiparkinsonian drugs which will enable us to predict an individuals   response to drugs in terms of both efficacy and toxicity. Hence efforts to define the role of genetic polymorphism in optimizing pharmacotherapy of Parkinson's disease have been undertaken and some promising genetic loci for the treatment have been determined. Therefore we aim to present a critical review of  pharmacogenetic aspects of levodopa ,  dopamine agonists and COMT inhibitors and describe gene polymorphism of interest for future research.Â

INVESTIGATION OF DISTORTIONAL AND GLOBAL BUCKLING INTERACTION ON COLD FORMED STEEL LIPPED CHANNEL COLUMNS

    Get PDF
The paper presents the investigation on cold formed steel lipped channel columns experiencing distortional and global buckling interaction under axial compression. Five cross sections are chosen based upon the limitations given in the draft IS 801 code. The cross section dimensions and length ensures equal distortional/global critical buckling loads, thus maximizing the distortional/global mode interaction effects through elastic buckling analysis using CUFSM software. The plate slenderness ratio (b/t) is within the limit to avoid local buckling. The ends of the columns are considered as Pinned-Pinned. The Numerical analysis are carried out by the finite element package ANSYS. Finite element model include the geometric and material non-linearities. Geometric imperfections are incorporated in the model by extracting distortional and global modes obtained from buckling analysis. Parametric studies are carried out by varying the yield stress as 250,350 and 550 N/mm2.Theoretical Analysis are carried out by Direct Strength Method DSM-AISI 100-2007 and Australian Standard AS/NZS:4600-2005.The results are compared and the effect of distortional and global interaction on ultimate strength is discussed

PHARMACOGENETIC VARIATIONS RELATED TO CLOPIDOGREL RESISTANCE AND ITS CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: AN ISSUE WHICH REMAINS LARGELY UNADDRESSED

    Get PDF
Objectives: Antiplatelet therapy with either clopidogrel alone or in combination with aspirin is the mainstay prophylactic drug therapy followingpercutaneous coronary intervention and long-term prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. Non-responders/semi-responders to clopidogrel are reported to have increased incidences of adverse outcomes like recurrent ischemic attacks. Variability in response to clopidogrel ismore common among Asians, and it is as high as 70% in some of the Asian communities. Researchers attribute inter-individual variations in responseto clopidogrel to various pharmacogenetic determinants. Polymorphisms of multidrug resistance protein 1, CYP2C19 and its alleles, P2Y adenosine diphosphate (ADP) receptor are concluded to be specific to clopidogrel resistance in Indian population. Methods: A thorough literature search was done use different keywords such as clopidogrel resistance, pharmacogenomics, pharmacogeneticvariability, and ethnic variability from database sources such as Google Scholar, Medline, PubMed Central, and Scopus. Results and Conclusion: Literature revealed a disparity between various pharmacogenetic determinants of clopidogrel resistance, particularly inthe Asian population. Few studies suggest that there is no significant association between clopidogrel response variability and ADP receptor P2Yand P2Y gene polymorphisms. Variation in the cytochrome P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) gene coding for the CYP2C19 enzyme, involved in metabolism and conversion of the clopidogrel to active metabolites is considered one of the major determinants of clopidogrel resistance in some populations. Pooled data from various studies suggest that variability in clopidogrel response cannot be attributed to a single gene polymorphism and is thought to be multifactorial. However, disparity in the data related to the specific gene polymorphisms responsible for the encountered clopidogrel resistance necessitates the further evaluation of genome. 12Keywords: Clopidogrel, Clopidogrel resistance, Single gene polymorphisms, Inter-individual variability. 1 , and P2Y 12

An Inclusive Report on Robust Malware Detection and Analysis for Cross-Version Binary Code Optimizations

    Get PDF
Numerous practices exist for binary code similarity detection (BCSD), such as Control Flow Graph, Semantics Scrutiny, Code Obfuscation, Malware Detection and Analysis, vulnerability search, etc. On the basis of professional knowledge, existing solutions often compare particular syntactic aspects retrieved from binary code. They either have substantial performance overheads or have inaccurate detection. Furthermore, there aren't many tools available for comparing cross-version binaries, which may differ not only in programming with proper syntax but also marginally in semantics. This Binary code similarity detection is existing for past 10 years, but this research area is not yet systematically analysed. The paper presents a comprehensive analysis on existing Cross-version Binary Code Optimization techniques on four characteristics: 1. Structural analysis, 2. Semantic Analysis, 3. Syntactic Analysis, 4. Validation Metrics.  It helps the researchers to best select the suitable tool for their necessary implementation on binary code analysis. Furthermore, this paper presents scope of the area along with future directions of the research

The current study explores the anticoagulant, fibrinogenolytic and anti-platelet aggregation activities of Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet seed radicle extract (LPRE). It is firstly reported that LPRE has protein at a concentration of 1.5 mg/ml and further evaluated for protein in gel electrophoresis. The proteolytic activity of LPRE was evaluated using casein and gelatin as substrate. LPRE showed a specific activity of 0.35 U. LPRE increased the plasma clotting time significantly showing its anticoagulant property. LPRE hydrolyzed the A?, B? and ? chains of fibrinogen. Furthermore, LPRE significantly inhibited the platelet aggregation induced by agonist adenosine diphosphate (ADP)

Crime is one of the major problems encountered in a society. Thus, there is an urgent need for security agents and agencies to battle and eradicate crime. Preventive are taken to reduce the increasing number of cases of crime. A huge amount of data set is generated every year on the basis of reporting of crime. This data can prove very useful in analysing and predicting crime and help us prevent the crime to some extent. Crime analysis is an area of vital importance in police department. Study of crime data can help us analyse crime pattern, inter-related clues& important hidden relations between the crimes. That is why data mining can be great aid to analyse, visualize and predict crime using crime data set. We analyse data objects using machine learning techniques. Dataset is classified on the basis of tree based algorithm. In this prediction is done using random forest algoritm according to various types of crimes taking place in different states and cities. Crime mapping will help the administration to plan strategies for prevention of crime, further using Random forest algorithm technique data can be predicted and visualized in various form in order using leaflet and shiny package to provide better understanding of crime patterns

    Get PDF
In the present study an attempt was made to generate cadastral base from high resolution satellite image (LISS IV) and to integrate with land use land cover information. The digital cadastral map with survey number for Kolathupalayam village in Erode district of Tamil Nadu was scanned, digitized and parcels were extracted. Similarly parcels or field boundaries were digitized and extracted from satellite image and were statistically compared by area. The area obtained from both the source through digitization correlated well with a pearson correlation of 0.87 and it was significant at 5 per cent. Thus, the area comparisons from both methods are significant indicating boundaries of individual fields generated from satellite image matched well with the one generated from cadastral map. The cadastral base generated from satellite image was overlaid on the classified image (level III output) to identify and generate land cover information against each survey number. Thus, the LISS IV data can be used for the identification and extraction of cadastral boundaries with good accuracy
