    In order to create a diachronic model of the exploitation of resources and mobility at a micro-regional scale, the data concerning a test-area in an alpine environment have been imported in GRASS and analyzed using raster modules and running bash-shell scripts for iterating processes

    Hydrogen-bonding synthons in lamotrigine salts: 3,5-diamino-6-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,4-triazin-2-ium 2-[(2-carboxyphenyl)disulfanyl]benzoate in its monohydrate and anhydrous forms

    Lamotrigine is a drug used in the treatment of epilepsy and related convulsive diseases. The drug in its free form is rather inadequate for pharmacological use due to poor absorption by the patient, which limits its bioavailability. On the other hand, the lamotrigine molecule is an excellent hydrogen-bonding agent and this has been exploited intensively in the search for better formulations. The formulation presently commercialized (under the brand name Lamictal) is rather complex and includes a number of anions in addition to the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API). The title salts of lamotrigine, namely 3,5-diamino-6-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,4-triazin-2-ium 2-[(2-carboxyphenyl)disulfanyl]benzoate monohydrate, C9H8Cl2N5+·C14H9O4S2-·H2O, (I), and the anhydrate, C9H8Cl2N5+·C14H9O4S2-, (II), contain a lamotriginium cation (L), a hydrogen dithiodibenzoate monoanion (D) and, in the case of (I), a disordered solvent water molecule. Both L and D present their usual configurations severely twisted around their central C-C and S-S bonds, respectively. The supramolecular structure generated by the many available donor and acceptor sites is characterized by a planar antisymmetric motif of the form D-L-L-D, i.e. the structural building block. Although this characteristic motif is extremely similar in both structures, its conformation involves different donors and acceptors in its R22(8) central L-L homosynthon. The lateral R22(8) D-L heterosynthons are, on the other hand, identical. These substructures are further connected by strong hydrogen bonds into broad two-dimensional structures, in turn weakly linked to each other. Even if the homo- and heterosynthons in (I) and (II) are rather frequent in lamotrigine structural chemistry, the composite tetrameric synthon appears to be much less common. The occurrence of these motifs among lamotrigine salts and cocrystals is analyzed.Fil: Freire Espeleta, Eleonora. Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica. Centro Atómico Constituyentes; Argentina. Building Strategic Partnership of Transnational Education Using Online Program to Increase Academic Quality of Graduates

    Full text link
    International employment standard requires higher quality of graduates, which can be achieved through high quality academic standards. As we know there are still a large number of graduates of Indonesian higher education rejected to work in global industry. Besides having low GPA, lots of graduates are considered lacking technical skills, interpersonal skills, and International experience. Indeed, the main weakness factor is the low English proficiency of graduates. We need a breakthrough that develops our academic standards of higher education to obtain International quality. Yet, there are challenges to face by the government, such as rebuilding the national system (establishing elite institutions), Internationalizing higher education (globalizing the institutions or cross-border trades of education services), as well as enhancing private participation by repositioning the private sector. To overcome these challenges we need to build a strategic partnership of transnational education using online programs, which can obtain mutual benefit for the collaborating institutions. This article discusses about how to increase academic quality of graduates in Indonesia or in other Asian countries

    Correlation between magnetic and transport properties of phase separated La0.5_{0.5}Ca0.5_{0.5}MnO3_{3}

    Full text link
    The effect of low magnetic fields on the magnetic and electrical transport properties of polycrystalline samples of the phase separated compound La0.5_{0.5}Ca0.5_{0.5}MnO3_{3} is studied. The results are interpreted in the framework of the field induced ferromagnetic fraction enlargement mechanism. A fraction expansion coefficient af, which relates the ferromagnetic fraction f with the applied field H, was obtained. A phenomenological model to understand the enlargement mechanism is worked out.Comment: 3 pages, 3 figures, presented at the Fifth LAW-MMM, to appear in Physica B, Minor change

    El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo estudiar el impacto del fungicida Trifloxistrobina sobre el plancton. Se realizaron ensayos de toxicidad a nivel de microcosmos, utilizando 32 tanques inoculados con plancton. Las concentraciones de Trifloxistrobina aplicadas fueron de: 0,01 mg/L (C1); 0,1 mg/L (C2) y 1 mg/L (C3) y dos controles (Co). Los muestreos del plancton se realizaron a las 3, 6, 24 y 72 horas. Se midieron y analizaron variables biológicas y físico-químicas in situ y en laboratorio. Los análisis estadísticos no dieron diferencias significativas para la abundancia del fitoplancton y fueron significativas para el zooplancton a la mayor concentración.The effect of pesticide Trifloxistrobin on plankton: a microcosm study The present work aims to study the impact of pesticide Trifloxistrobin on plankton. The concentrations of Trifloxistrobin applied were: 0,01 mg/L (C1); 0,1 mg/L (C2) y 1 mg/L (C3) and two controls (Co). Plankton samples were taken at 3, 6, 24 and 72 hours. Biological and physicochemical variables were measured and analyzed in situ and in laboratory. The statistical analyses did not give remarkable differences for phytoplankton, whereas these abundance differences were significant for the zooplankton at the highest concentration.Fil: Fernandez, Viviana Claudia. Effects of Fe doping in La1/2Ca1/2MnO3

    Full text link
    The effect of Fe doping in the Mn site on the magnetic, transport and structural properties of polycrystalline La1/2Ca1/2MnO3 was studied. Doping with low Fe concentration (< 10%) strongly affects electrical transport and magnetization. Long range charge order is disrupted even for the lowest doping level studied (~2%). For Fe concentration up to 5% a ferromagnetic state develops at low temperature with metallic like conduction and thermal hysteresis. In this range, the Curie temperature decreases monotonously as a function of Fe doping. Insulating behavior and a sudden depression of the ferromagnetic state is observed by further Fe doping.Comment: 2 pages, presented at ICM2000, to appear in JMM

    Perancangan Prototype Aplikasi Knowledge Management Pada Divisi Management Automation Information Untuk Mendukung Oracle Financial Pada Orang Tua Group

    Full text link
    The purpose of this project is to design a knowledge management application as a media to document knowledge and facility that supported a knowledge sharing culture in Oracle Financial subdivision in Orang Tua Group. The researcher uses 7 first steps method which defined by Tiwana in doing knowledge management application prototype. The knowledge management prototype application modules consist of Wiki page, document library, discussion board, blog, picture library, knowledge base, help desk, frequently asked questions, and surveys. In using knowledge in knowledge base, user will get knowledge through business process, how to use the application, or how to finish some cases. Knowledge management prototype application design as a whole could fulfill user\u27s needs in sharing knowledge, but still needs continuous improvement for maximal USAge
