Knowledge of Type II Diabetes and its Complications Among Adult Vietnamese Immigrants
This was a non-experimental quantitative study using survey method to assess diabetic knowledge of 102 adult Vietnamese immigrants. The Health Belief Model provided the theoretical framework, and the 24-item diabetes knowledge questionnaire was adopted from the Starr County Texas study to use for this study. Data were categorized and analyzed using descriptive methods such as frequency and percentage. The findings indicated that lack of knowledge about diabetes was a significant issue among the Vietnamese immigrant population. Health care providers should develop an appropriate cultural educational program about diabetes to help the Vietnamese population to detect diabetes early and to control diabetes effectively

Upon a request for a preliminary ruling on the articulation between Article 13 of the European Insolvency Regulation n° 1346/2000 and Article 12(1)(b) of Rome I Regulation, the Court of Justice of European Union has confirmed in a decision on April 22, 2021 that a payment made in perfor-mance of a contract by a third party is subjected to the law applicable to that contract and not to the law of the Member State opening the insolvency proceedings where the payment is challenged by an avoidance action. The decision raises some reflections on the correlation between the European Insolvency and Rome I Regulations as well as the effectiveness of avoidance action in insolvency proceedings
Optimizing the Use of Phytopharmaceuticals as a Therapeutic Approach for Type 2 Diabetes Patients in Vietnam
This research aims to optimize the utilization of phytopharmaceuticals as a therapeutic intervention for individuals with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) in Indonesia. The prevalence of diabetes is escalating globally, and T2DM is a significant health concern in Indonesia. Despite conventional treatments, many patients face challenges in managing their condition, necessitating alternative approaches. This study investigates the effectiveness and safety of incorporating phytopharmaceuticals into the management of T2DM. We will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the impact of specific plant-derived compounds on glycemic control, insulin sensitivity, and associated metabolic parameters. Additionally, the research will assess the cultural acceptance and feasibility of integrating phytopharmaceuticals into the existing healthcare framework. The findings from this research will contribute valuable insights into the potential role of phytopharmaceuticals in enhancing the therapeutic options for T2DM patients in Indonesia. The study also seeks to address the growing demand for sustainable and culturally relevant approaches to healthcare

THE STUDY ON ICT APPLICATIONS TO VIETNAMESE TRADING VILLAGES Case study: Van Phuc Silk Village
Information and communication technologies (ICT) have contributed greatly
to the economic success of Vietnam, the second fastest developing country in the
world. Due to be the feasibility of being widely applied to many fields, ICT speeds up
the economy, changes the social structure, life style, etc. It helps narrow down the gap
between developed and developing countries.
Despite the fact of having a high growth rate, which places Vietnam among
the fastest countries in developing ICT, only small number of the population, are
utilizing the benefit of information technology. ICT in general and Internet
technology in particular seems to be known by the students, scientists or people who
works at the high level of social structure such as the government, ministry, city or
province, but has not touched to the normal citizens who live in small communes, or
less advance region which account for nearly 60% of the population. This situation
must be changed as Vietnam has entered the WTO(world trade organization) recently
and it will soon be affected by the working and living style in the developed countries
where Internet plays the crucial role in their societies. Integrating people in the
community, maintaining the tradition, but at the same time, educating them the
importance of information technology, become the priority.
Van Phuc is a typical Vietnamese trade village, which located at about 10km from
Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Van Phuc is very famous for its silk products,
which have very long tradition of more than 1000 years. Currently, because of its
adjacent location to Hanoi, Van Phuc has been impacted by the urbanization and
advance technologies. How to enforce the solidarity among the commune members
and to maintain the tradition becomes an emergent need. Integrating people in an
information system whereby people are closely interrelated to each other could be a
solution. The information system will help them not only share information inside the
village, but also bring economic benefits from e-commerce activities
The emergence of objectivity and the quantum-to-classical transition
Quantum mechanics describes the smallest systems, whilst classical physics describes macroscopic scales. However, the quantum-to-classical transition is a major unsolved problem. In this thesis, we develop further understanding of the transition through the concept of objectivity. The objects we perceive in our everyday world are objective: they exist regardless of observation, and their properties are independent of observers. This is because information about everyday objects came be found, for example, in the surrounding photon environment. Quantum Darwinism is a conceptual and theoretical framework that describes the emergence of objectivity. The “Darwinistic” part refers to how certain types of information tends to spread at the expense of others. The thesis addresses the quantitative description of objectivity, the dynamics of emergent objectivity, and the analysis of non-objectivity in experimental and biology-inspired systems. Firstly, we propose two new mathematical frameworks to describe objectivity, Strong Quantum Darwinism and invariant spectrum broadcast structure. Then we unite them with the pre-existing frameworks, Zurek's Quantum Darwinism and spectrum broadcast structure, by identifying their deep connections and differences. These conditions highlight how Each framework considers varying amounts of objectivity in the system and environments and together, they create a hierarchy of objectivity. We then analyse objectivity in a scenario where system-environment interactions are strong and non-Markovian, highlighting some practical differences between the Quantum Darwinism frameworks. Next, we describe the quantum channels that create objective states, leading us to discuss the contribution of non-Markovianity to the emergence of objectivity. Then, we introduce a witnessing scheme that simplifies the detection of non-objectivity to promote further experimental testing of Quantum Darwinism with larger environments. Finally, we examine the contribution of quantum coherence and non-objectivity to the performance of a biological-inspired quantum magnetic sensor that operates close to the quantum-classical boundary. We find that the sensor operates in a non-objective regime, and that quantum coherence is necessary for the sensor's performance. The quantum-to-classical transition is a longstanding open question: these findings deepen our knowledge of how objectivity emerges, and contributes to and the types of interactions that keep systems quantum, which is relevant for understanding quantum biological systems and exploiting environment effects in novel quantum technologies. While the quantum-to-classical transition remains unsolved, Quantum Darwinism and its frameworks contribute to the understanding of emergent objectivity and have much potential to further explore aspects of the transition within the structure of quantum mechanics
Securing Soft IPs against Hardware Trojan Insertion
Due to the increasing complexity of hardware designs, third-party hardware Intellectual Property (IP) blocks are often incorporated in order to alleviate the burden on hardware designers. However, the prevalence use of third-party IPs has raised security concerns such as Trojans inserted by attackers. Hardware Trojans in these soft IPs are extremely difficult to detect through functional testing and no single detection methodology has been able to completely address this issue. Based on a Register-Transfer Level (RTL) and gate-level soft IP analysis method named Structural Checking, this dissertation presents a hardware Trojan detection methodology and tool by detailing the implementation of a Golden Reference Library for matching an unknown IP to a functionally similar Golden Reference. The matching result is quantified in percentages so that two different IPs with similar functions have a high percentage match. A match of the unknown IP to a whitelisted IP advances it to be identified with a known functionality while a match to a blacklisted IP causes it to be detected with Trojan. Examples are given on how this methodology can successfully identify hardware Trojans inserted in unknown third-party IPs. In addition to soft IPs analysis, Structural Checking provides data flow tracking capability to help users discover vulnerable nodes of the soft IPs. Structural Checking is implemented with a graphical user interface, so it does not take users much time to use the tool
